CJ is on his way Jen. Sorry for the delay. When I explained why you needed his ministrations, he pulled a face and said he remembers the last Scottish wedding where he was your escort. Then he clammed up and wouldn't tell me any more details. Care to elaborate?

I may have annoyed him though as I said I had decided I was rather partial to that Elvis Harte as well. I think there might be some rivalry there! Ooops.

Ilovelblue · 04/09/2016 20:47

In the end, I haven't done anything with the apples as yet. After I'd picked them all and then pruned the tree (without CJ's help sadly), I decided to tidy up the front hedge for the winter and then I had to go for my weekly bike ride. Am completely kn.....d now. I am out at friends on Tuesday so will make a blackberry and apple sponge I think for our tea and if I've time, will make an apple and ginger cake too which will freeze. The rest of them will just have to wait a bit.

Nickel45 · 04/09/2016 20:54

Ooh, will the ginger and apple cake still be edible next time I see you, if you freeze it, sounds lush! :)

pixieg1rl · 04/09/2016 20:54

Do you do mail order? Ginger and apple cake sounds lush.

Nickel45 · 04/09/2016 20:56

So impressed rhu, you make it sound so easy. I have about three things I can bake, without too much disaster, and that's about it. Well, so I thought... at the last cake sale at school, someone asked if the chocolate chip cookies (which I thought were ok) were rock cakes. Last time I make them, then! Luckily the ice cream is so easy even the kids can make it!

Ilovelblue · 04/09/2016 20:58

Hahaha. Mail order.... now there's a thought!

You're very welcome to come and collect it! Maybe we could get CJ on his way back from soothing Jen's fevered brow to call in to collect and act as courier.

Nickel45 · 04/09/2016 20:58

Great minds pix!
Liking the ideal of mail order. How about male order? Get CJ to deliver it on his tour, you could charge extra ilove.

Ilovelblue · 04/09/2016 21:02

He does love a good cake or pudding Nickel. I remember this from when he's stayed with me.

You can actually use this recipe as a pudding and serve it with cream or custard. Do you want me to type it out for you? It's only worth doing I think when there's a glut of apples, otherwise it works out quite expensive. I usually make it when we do the MacMillan greatest coffee morning at the end of September.

pixieg1rl · 04/09/2016 21:12

Aww, Prudie. I'm missing orph right now.

Nickel45 · 04/09/2016 21:19

Yes please ilove, or just scan in whatever recipe you use, I have a friend who usually ends up chucking a load out from her tree. Thank you xx

Has poldark had a hair cut?

pixieg1rl · 04/09/2016 21:21

I'm up for apple cake recipe too, although I think my enthusiastic pruning means we have about 3 apples on the tree.

Ooh, bang me that rock sweaty shirtless Poldark

Nickel45 · 04/09/2016 21:24

Barnaby with a Cornish-ish accent Confused

Onlygirljen · 04/09/2016 21:25

Is that Harry, the useless ex boyfriend in fleabag?

pixieg1rl · 04/09/2016 21:31

Ooh, a tidal wave just hit woof's house Grin

icemistOBE · 04/09/2016 21:31

www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/recipes/3340277/Recipes-Apple-magic.html

Ladies, I found the recipe! Mine is a very old newspaper cutting and I didn't think it would scan but I remembered it came out of the Telegraph a few years ago so here it is.

This time on Wednesday, we'll have seen the first episode of OG. Yippee!!

MaddieMoo82 · 04/09/2016 22:12

Ooh ilove that recipe sounds lovely cries at the lack of cake in the house

Ilovelblue · 04/09/2016 22:17

Why don't you, pixie, Nickel and anyone else who wants cake come next weekend for afternoon tea? Hahaha.

MaddieMoo82 · 04/09/2016 22:18

Yes ilove if only!

Nickel45 · 04/09/2016 22:30

Really wish I could ilove.
Thank you for posting the recipe, I'm going to nab some apples this week and give it a go, maybe we could all have a virtual tea??

cjwoofwoof · 04/09/2016 22:39

And breathe out...

Phew, that was worth the wait. The Captain still looks mighty fine despite the trimmed perm. Is it now ATs real hair instead of a wig do you think? And why is Elizabeth's hair suddenly a foot longer whilst Geoffrey Charles is about 17? Bah! Fantastic "wrong leg" continuity from the Beeb as per.

Especially enjoyed the damn good banging Ross gave whilst underneath...and then it was nice to see him topless tin mining after. Grin

moojangles · 04/09/2016 22:58

loving the update pix

Ilovelblue · 04/09/2016 23:27

Whilst I think about it (for once today not on the subject of apples), have we decided what we're doing on Wednesday? Clearly watching the episode in minute detail and NOT posting but at what point are we going to discuss it, resume our usual chit chat on here and/or are we having a watchalong later in the week or maybe at the weekend?

icemistOBE · 05/09/2016 07:50

I will not be able to wait a minute past the show ending to post about it!

I'm sure we can do a re-watch before episode 2 airs

So excited it nearly here!!!
