What a disappointment!

I admit to dropping jaw at Dondarrion, but couldn't remember why? Momentary lapses in concentration at 6am!

WeDoNotSow · 13/06/2016 07:11

Not impressed. Edmure, what a dickhead.
Clegane bowl, forget the hype...

Next week looks good at least, we need a good ol' battlescene

Mumanddadtoone · 13/06/2016 07:47

Very disappointed, think that was the worst episode of the season. So Arya really was walking around like she didn't have a care in the world last week, it doesn't make sense, she knew the waif would be after her, she didn't even have needle with her, im actually pissed off with the writers for that

BelfastBloke · 13/06/2016 07:49

Very irritating episode, with the motivations and strategies of most people quite unconvincing.

Mumanddadtoone · 13/06/2016 07:59

Hope tommen dies soon, little pussy that he is.
Anyone else think the waif reminded them of terminator, the way she looked at Arya running away. The first thing I thought was terminator.
Glad to see the return of Beric, think I'm the only person that doesn't want LSH in the show.
Not a fan of Dany, I know she'll probably make it to the end but I kind of hope she dies.
Next week we get some action at last, really hope Ramsay has a slow and painful death.
Wonder where Varys is off to.
Was wondering what Cersei was on about to Qyburn so thanks to the PP for mentioning wyldfyre.
Really hope we get a return to the ToJ in the next 2 episodes.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 13/06/2016 08:01

Ok
Why were the slavers attacking mereen?
How did daenarys get back and did she have the dothraki with her?
Why was arya such a div?
What was the point of her assassin training? Maybe she will pop up at the battle of the bastards and kill Ramsay How long does it take to get from bravos to winterfell?

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 13/06/2016 08:02

I'm also not fussed about LSH, I think she's a horrible character and if she was going to be in it she would be already.

Middleoftheroad · 13/06/2016 08:06

We thought they had something really clever up their sleeves, something that might even explain why Jaqen was in the dungeons at KL in the first place. We have invested series in the house of b &w and they should have made Arya's return a good one. However, I am relieved she's alive and giving fighting talk.

Yes still cant fathom why she was flouncing around last week.

Who the hell is under Ser Robert's eyes?

I really liked The Hound's scenes

WeDoNotSow · 13/06/2016 08:20

It was bollocks, I thought faceless men were supposed to be the greatest assassins? Discreet? Yet we have the waif going all terminator

WeDoNotSow · 13/06/2016 08:25

And am I the only one getting bored with hearing about how Catelyn and Cersei are the only women in the world who ever loved their children?

pyrowall · 13/06/2016 08:47

Does Beric remind anyone else of that character in ice age 2?

Eye patch one - bit of a dare devil?

pyrowall · 13/06/2016 08:49

Woah! Massive link! Sorry!

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 13/06/2016 08:54

So basically, Cersei is the Peter Andre of Westeros...

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 13/06/2016 09:08

Placemarking. Very disappointed in Arya's plot - badass or not that was woefully unrealistic that you could shrug off serious stab wounds like that with amateur assistance. And of course we'd all talked ourselves into expecting a super-clever Fight Club twist so we're always going to be let down by it being exactly what it appeared to be. I did see the denouement coming where she manoeuvred the Waif into the dark though.

The Sparrow outfoxing Cersei was brilliant though - I agree that she may resort to the Mad King Solution. And I loved all the stuff at Riverrun - if only the Blackfish had just agreed to Brienne's proposal!

Fiderer · 13/06/2016 09:08

Hopefully that's the last we'll see of the bloody Waif. Though would like to have seen the look on her face when she got stabbed with the pointy end.

Would also have liked to have seen her with her smug smirky face locked in a dungeon with the smug grimy High Sparrow who'd lecture her about the true crone while the pair of them are thrashed by Septa Smug and her hefty bell.

Arya's story line has been long and dull and she hasn't really learned much. Most streetwise she seems to be is a dab hand with a broom to sweep one. She'd have lost marks for that face removal being all bloody.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 13/06/2016 09:46

I thought arya was going to learn to be a super stealthy assassin but she barely learnt anything. How to fight in the dark I guess.

CaitAgusMadra · 13/06/2016 10:09

Agree with all PP - Arya running through the streets Matrix style after having a magic bandage applied. WTF. 2 years pissing around in Bravos to just go home. She won't even be able to face change or anything (as far I understand it anyway!)

Loved the Brienne and Jamie scenes, real chemistry there. Poor Tormund can't compete with that....

Not looking forward to next week, not a big fan of the big battle pieces. Too much blood and guts for me. Also hate Jon with the ponytail.

bettys · 13/06/2016 10:17

I quite enjoyed it Blush . Jaqen's smile at the end made me think there was some purpose to the training as he didn't seem bothered about the waif being killed. Maybe it was to make her even more Stark than she was before?

SootSprite · 13/06/2016 10:19

I'm really disappointed.

No cleganebowl
No Syrio
No point to the whole fucking b&w storyline
Not even a good mountain killing loads of sparrows bit

And why the fuck are the slavers attacking mereen?

What a let down.

I did love the whole Jamie Brienne bit though.

CaitAgusMadra · 13/06/2016 10:33

Any speculation on where Varys has gone?

Possibilities:
The Ironborn.
The Redwynes / Tyrells although not sure that the Redwyne fleet has ever really been mentioned in the show.
The Dornish.

Dorne is my guess. Would tie in with some plotlines in the book. And a good way to catch up on events there since Dorans murder.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 13/06/2016 10:44

I don't understand why everyone is so pissed off with the B&W storyline. Arya started out as a young girl with no skills, her father died and she was alone. The B&W storyline has given her skills not only in fighting, but deception, stealth and relationships. It's taught her independence and strength. It's taught her to lead.

It's given a whole reason for Arya to turn up and actually make a difference in Westeros and in the fights going in there.

It's be pretty unrealistic if she turned into some badass leader and fighter without anything to teach her how to do. I thought it was great. It's given her a depth. Plus Jaqen smiled at the end so I think that he's not gone from her life forever just yet.

Just because the king has decreed no trial by combat doesn't mean a bad plot either. Cleganebowl would have been good, but a narrow use of them. Forcing Cersei into a tight corner will be much more explosive.

In essence, I'm happy!
