Or the thing in Harry Potter where Harry saves himself with his own Patronus.

TheUnsullied · 22/05/2016 23:09

Hodor Sad that was so desperately sad. He was one of my favourite characters.

I don't think the show has done a good job of explaining the whole Bloodraven/tree people thing. Are the tree people supposed to be the Children of the Forest? They didn't look like that when we first saw them did they?

I can't really make any other points right now. I'm sat in shock over Hodor. He pretty much lived his life from the moment of the seizure/warg fail knowing that his sole purpose in life was to hold that door shut and save Bran from the dead. He couldn't articulate anything else. That was everything to him.

EverySongbirdSays · 22/05/2016 23:20

So.

Bran in The Tree is with Present Day Hodor. They are both in Present Day in the Tree.

Bran is having a vision and can't wake up. Hodor has panicked and won't move. They need Bran to move Hodor but he is trapped in the dream. Physically he is with Hodor but in the vision scape/ dream sphere whatever it is he can only get to Wylis. The shock of this throws past Wylis into a fit where he becomes both Hodor/Wylis AND Bran as Bran has warged into him.

I didn't think of THIS! Is Bran dead???? Mentally not physically.

ie Bran's body exists but what was Bran Stark is gone because he was in Hodor's body Shock Shock

And "Bran" ie the physical appearance of Bran is just Bloodraven now and that's why Summer is dead because Bran is?

TheUnsullied · 22/05/2016 23:37

The wolf can die without the Stark though. Lady has been gone ages.

TheUnsullied · 22/05/2016 23:42

I don't think Bran's mind will be dead. I do wonder though if Bran was still in Hodor and holding the door shut for himself? Present day Hodor wasn't Hodoring. Did we get a good shot of his eyes? We're they wargy?

EverySongbirdSays · 22/05/2016 23:43

I know. But Bran could totally be dead

OP posts:
EverySongbirdSays · 22/05/2016 23:45

I definitely thought Hodor had white wargy eyes in the last shot we see of him yeah

OP posts:
TheUnsullied · 22/05/2016 23:51

Fuck. Does that mean Bran sacrificed Hodor?! Angry

EverySongbirdSays · 22/05/2016 23:57

Well yeah, that's PRECISELY what happened - Bran took control of Hodor's body so he and Meera could escape, then either warging back into his own body before Hodor died or dying with him.

Actually he must have warged back into his own body to tell him to HOLD THE DOOR. But yeah he not only created Hodor he sacrificed him to save himself.

OP posts:
TheUnsullied · 23/05/2016 00:06

I thought Meera shouted to hold the door?

I don't know why but I originally thought that from the running away bit, Hodor was himself and he'd died willingly trying to help Bran. But if he still had wargy eyes at the end, I now hate Bran.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 23/05/2016 03:23

The young actress gets her tits out.

There's so much female nudity! Why isn't there any male nudit....

Oh. Ok. As you were.

BrienneAndTormund · 23/05/2016 05:44

I think hodor was himself when he was holding the door. Bran in the vision was watching wylis not warged into him. It's confusing but I do think the 'hold the door' being repeated was hodor himself hearing the instruction and holding the door.
I don't think bran is dead because I think he was out of hodor by the time he was holding the door.
Hold the door Sad

I missed the bit with littlefinger, I wasn't paying attention completely, why do we think Sansa is tricking Jon?

pyrowall · 23/05/2016 06:20

I thought it was Meera calling as well.

Hodor Sad, there may have been tears!

I'll have to watching it again (2 or 3 times should do it) to concentrate on what happens

sashh · 23/05/2016 06:51

To be fair the young actor got his dick out.

And am I the only one who noticed the Lancashire accent of the actor playing Ned?

Middleoftheroad · 23/05/2016 06:53

Littlefinger told Sansa about The Blacfish and his army at Riverun. Therecwas emphasis on him reminding Sansa that Jon is her half brother. He is not related to Tullys.

She lied and told Jon she knew of The Tully army via a raven at Winterfell.

But whats also interesting is Brienne is worried about leaving Sansa.

Sansa may be coming across all.Robb Stark 'Queen of the North' and his headstrong ways brought on his demise (that and Waldo Frey/Tywin plot). I like strong Sansa but I have a bad feeling......

BrienneAndTormund · 23/05/2016 06:55

Sansa told littlefinger to fuck off and take his army with him but then she told Jon there was an army available. I don't understand exactly what she was doing there. I'm not sure why she would have turned against Jon, he's her main ally and only family.

sashh · 23/05/2016 07:23

I'm not sure why she would have turned against Jon, he's her main ally and only family.

No he isn't, Rickon is at Winteerfell, and in Sansa's eyes her father's heir. She must also knows that Arya was alive and calling herself Arry, Brienne would have told her.

Middleoftheroad · 23/05/2016 07:28

Just re- watching and while she turns her back on Baelish and the knights of Vale she is left with his parting words about Blackfish. He reminds Sansa Jon is only her half brother. She later tells Jon about the Tully clans not The Vale. Even if she is on a power trip it makes no sense that she would begin to distrust Jon or discount him. However others have said that in the books she acts superior to Jon as he is a bastard (I think that's right?)

BrienneAndTormund · 23/05/2016 08:06

The uptight Sansa was prior to leaving winterfell, a completely different person. Why would Sansa credit anything littlefinger says now?

Cerseirys · 23/05/2016 08:29

Is anyone else sick of Aiden Gillen? Littlefinger is meant to be a subtle character but he overeggs the pudding with his Accent of the Week and steers a bit too close to pantomime villain twirling his moustache territory.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/05/2016 08:30

I'd pay good money for Fake Sansa's tits... Envy

Cerseirys · 23/05/2016 08:35

And am I the only one who noticed the Lancashire accent of the actor playing Ned

Do you mean the child actor? I don't think he had many lines did he? The man was Ned's father, Rickon.

TheNorthRemembers · 23/05/2016 08:36

EverySongbird Thank you for the explanation. I'll have to concentrate on this episode.

ILikeToClean · 23/05/2016 09:03

Just watched - feel really shakey! Hodor Sadthe realisation of how he came to say that was just sickening. And another direwolf gone Sad. That was so stressful to watch although I can't say that I totally understand it all!

So am I right in thinking that the children of the forest initially "created" the walkers in the first place as an army to help them defeat their enemies (men?)?

IAmNotAMindReader · 23/05/2016 09:13

I think Sansa has seen enough of Littlefinger to know she can't rely on his support. She realises the Vale will do whatever Robyn says and he will do whatever Littlefinger tells him. She can't rely on Jon either. His alliance with the Wildlings is primarily concerned with surviving the White Walkers. It's not that she doesn't trust him, she sees his priorities differ from hers. She knows she will only be safe if the majority of the forces are loyal to her. She is going to exploit her mother's connections to do this. Whilst Jon goes to rally the other loyal North houses who were on the edges of Robbs rebellion and so haven't abandoned their loyalties due to the way that turned out.
I think Bran was out of Hodor by the time he was killed. The real question is will he be able to get back? If he does they need help from someone else or they'll never get very far. Another possibility is they just need to remain hidden as Bran is now stuck in the past. His body will die and he will have to intervene all overy the past. Possibly finally warging into someone or something to hide from the Nights King and end up forgetting who he was.
Poor Hodor. You Tube has reaction videos being posted.
