How come Dany is fireproof anyway? Is it a targ thing? I thought one of the targs was killed by wildfire?

Show Dany is fireproof, book Dany is not.

That was a one off magic event, not proof that she's fore proof

RJ Show radically diverged from books. Again. It is better this way, so we do not have to make comparisons all the time.

Plus show needed to show Dany naked again.

Book Dany also lost all her hair when she entered Drogo's pyre, she had to wear a wig

Suffolk But that would not have been attractive enough on the show. Dany's storyline seems to consist of opportunities to get her out of her clothes. So she is perfectly safe in the show.

I feel there's a difference between "haha you forgot I had fire magic" nudity vs "I have been sold off against my will" nudity.

I haven't felt her nudity seems particularly exploitative. At least when she has been getting down and dirty with Dario she is most definitely the one in the driving seat and her burning the place down the last time was pretty kick arse. Also it would have annoyed me if she had walked out with magically unburned clothes. I guess they could have not shown her nakedness at all, so sort of gratuitous but I can't really get all that bothered about it to be honest.

Yeah would've annoyed me too if her clothes had survived.

I think the 3rd fire will be for love of Jorah, in the hope it will cure the greyscale, or he'll offer himself as a sacrifice to be burnt for love of her.

I actually think Jorah's arc will end with Dany realising she does love him and telling him so as he dies, or being with him as he dies and lying that she loves him hopeful. After last week's tender scene I'd be gutted if Jorah trots off and she never gives him another thought.

Also I have to strongly disagree that Jason Isaacs would be a good Aerys, and I love him. He can do sinister but not right for Aerys. Richard E Grant has the gaunt face and wild eyes for a twitching, mad, desperate Aerys - thinking Howard Hughes here.

The Jorah of the book is far less attractive than Iain Glenn yet he and Dany do share a kiss at one point and he asks her to marry him. That never happened in the tv series.

No I don't think Dany will suddenly realise Jorahs the man for her after all.

I think he will ultimately end up sacrificing himself for her, if he doesn't cork it from greyscale.

Who's staying up for the 2am showing?

There is a moment in the books where Dany has a bit of a wobble about Jorah - she's getting out of the bath and he snogs her on impulse IIRC. There are distinct Mills and Boon overtones to the whole Dany/Jorah plot, but he's obviously not King/Prince Consort/Dragon C-Pilot of the Entire Fucking World material so I feel that he is doomed and we probably are heading for a Buffy/Spike "I love you" "No you don't but thanks for saying aaaarrrrgggghhhh" finale. Possibly with an unrecognisably stone-transformed Jorah appearing at a dramatic moment to fight off White Walkers with his bare hands, and only revealing it's him with his dying breath.

I'm not staying up but I'll probably watch it about noon tomorrow. Can't wait!
