Again been a sketchy poster recently but me and DH have been doing a mega chuck out of rubbish in the house and shed over past few days. Trying to keep DH motivated for redoing the kitchen sometime this year. fat chance

Well me and DH pix had a few blowups as he's a complete hoarder and I had to make him see sense. If I hear the sentence 'it might come in handy one day' again I'll lose my mind.

London Marathon tomorrow so we are heading off early as DH runs his race at 9am! I really wanted to go to the Portrait Gallery to see the vogue exhibition but I can't imagine that will go down well.

MIL over and she asked the boys to set her up on Facebook! Bloody nightmare!

Ooh shut the front door! Just read Matthew McNulty's in S3 of Musketeers. If I remember rightly doesn't he use the same agency as BA? Shame BA couldn't be persuaded to don some thigh boots and a shoulder pad and mud wrestle with D'Artagnan like in my dreams as the bad news is this is the final series. tartsy I'm feeling your pain

Belated marathon Good luck to mini rich what a trooper

Brilliant morning, watching DS , we are waiting for the results but I think he did it in about 16 mins (only 5k). Amazing atmosphere though. Watching the kids wheelchair race was so emotional, such courageous kids.

We came straight home as no one else wanted to stay in London! The exhibition finishes on the 22nd May so I've got a few weeks to go.

Well done mini rich great time too. It'd probably take me 16 minutes to do up my running shoes and the only marathon I've ever partaken is the Snickers variety although I could probably eat 20 of them in 16 minutes if that counts

Just got up to go to our local Dawn Parade. It's Anzac Day, April 25th and a national holiday both here and in Oz. There have been lots of sports events over the weekend and in every case, a memorial service before the game. Very solemn, though short and to the point. There are memorial monuments in every city and small town throughout both countries with the names of the dead from all of the wars we have been involved with. There will be ceremonies at every one.
My great uncle died on the Somme, my grandad was invalided out after Passchendaele with shrapnel in his head and my dad served in the Pacific in WW2. Not many NZ families left untouched. There were almost 3000 lost at Gallipoli alone at a time when our population hadn't reached a million.

What is so rewarding is the seriousness with which our young people take the memorial services. There will be thousands of teenagers attending dawn ceremonies all over the Antipodes. One of the most moving experiences of my life was being on the beach at Gallipoli for the 90th commemorations in 2005.
Probably at least part of my ongoing fascination with the OG story and characters.
Off now, a bit nippy outside, will need a jacket.
Ah well, as all my fellow Game of Thrones fans are well aware, WINTER IS COMING.. this evening!! I don't think I've ever seen anything quite as warlike and violent as GOT, yet I still watch it. Something about us as humans...

And Ramsay Bolton, aka, Smurf, is truly monstrous and terrifying. I couldn't shake images of his limited prowess as a surgeon out of my head for a very long time...I even felt worried for Sohail's physical safety for a while!! Thought he might really gonna need that gun. Gotta go!!

Hello. Been out and about today with my friend (who gives charity shop presents at Christmas). She particularly wanted to go to a certain restaurant up in Cumbria which is Michelin starred. She sort of pretended it was for my birthday but I know it's because she wanted to live up to a couple of her friends from work. I did enjoy it - the owner/chef is into foraging and there were some rather peculiar food combinations which I have to say worked but I got a bit pssed off with my friend keep telling me the place was "classy" - as if I couldn't tell by the bl*dy prices they were charging and as if I'd never eaten anywhere decent before. I had to bite my lip a few times. It was lovely to try it as I'd heard a lot about it but I'm not entirely sure I feel the need to go back. Does that sound mean?

Got a really busy week coming up and it looks as if my cooker is going to need replacing so somehow or other I am going to have to squeeze that in as well.

I have done 3 half marathons but after the state of my feet after each one I would never consider a full one my pelvic floors wouldn't take it either now

Can't wait for GoT either kuia but have to wait till tomorrow night over here.

Happy as managed to get out in the garden and at least start my flower bed project. Soil is awful as predicted though!!!

Well done to young Richtea. What an achievement. Bet Mr Richtea was pleased with the football result yesterday too.

Excellent start Maddie. Not much you can do with the poor soil other than keeping working at it. If I lived nearer, I'd offer to come and give you a hand.
