Thank goodness it's Friday. I could have stayed in bed this morning and snoozed for a bit after the alarm went off.

Off to work to see who else thinks I am running a garden centre in my back garden.

Oh Maddie, I meant to say there's an old gardening tradition of growing potatoes in a new plot to help break up the soil. Would that be worth a try?

I've got a headache too pixie. Managed to poke myself in the eye this morning with a makeup brush and it wouldn't stop watering. Looking after my friend's two kids tonight so they had better not play me up.

At least the weekend is here.

Ilove back to the subject of cats - strangely enough my next door neighbour has a pair of ginger cats one male one female so I based all my feline knowledge on that. My own cats were mixed up moggies although I did have an all black cat (DH called her a witch's cat but in the right light you could see tabby stripes and the vet called her a dark tabby! - she could be quite fierce and feisty when she wanted too - there you go) Can't help on the short trees with women's hair I'm afraid - how odd! Could they have been a fern of some kind - they can be quite dangly, droopy or even look like hair - maidenhair fern??

It has been so quiet on here the past couple of weeks. It's rare a thread lasts this long but not long till we start a new one.

My two little charges were in bed at (more or less) their proper times and I am nearly asleep waiting for their Mum to come back. Not sure what's wrong with their TV but there doesn't seem to be a signal. Hope I've not broken anything!

I had a lovely day today with a friend up in London. Naughty day having lunch and lots of drinks! But caught up on chats and gossip! Hang over tomorrow I'm sure!

MIL over tomorrow... Invited by DH to stay over night as we are off to watch the Marathon on Sunday morning. DH has now got a ticket for ManU Everton tomorrow at Wembley. So annoyed that MIL coming and DH buggering off and leaving me with her!!! Wine is needed tomorrow.

ilove I have three cats, the two kittens are mousers. I frequently have heads without bodies or vice versa! Although at the moment we are getting birds. I noticed we have a blue tit nesting in our box, which is really a death sentence as I'm sure the cats will get to the chicks :( . I suppose it's nature, but so sad.

Morning, early start here, DS up at 6:30 thrusting a reading book at me and then he did a wee on the bathroom floor.

Agree, it is quiet on here these days, we must all be busy.

Thanks for the potato tip ilove never heard of that before. Not sure I'll be able to do that though as the dog loves potatoes (raw or cooked) and will probably dig them up!

Off to work today. Haven't worked a weekend day for about 18 months and don't really want to start but finances are calling out for it. Not sure what I'm more worried about, work or leaving MrMads and DS alone for over 8 hours! The most they have managed is 3...!

Some good news, my brother and his g/friend have got engaged . They've 2 boys so not totally unexpected, so happy for them.

Just planning mine and 6yo trip to London. Had not realised how expensive it is to see Crown Jewels! Just as well everything else he wants to see is free. He no longer wants to see inside Buckingham palace as you don't see the queens bedroom

What a gorgeous day it has been so far. The weather forecast was definitely wrong. Finished painting all my wrought iron garden furniture and started off a couple of hanging baskets for one of my neighbours. (Have already started my own off a few weeks ago). Can't put any of the tender stuff in yet as it's forecast to go much colder again next week. British weather eh?

Hope you're feeling ok ice. I know the Crown Jewels is an expensive day out - the last time I went was in 2008 I think and I am sure it was around £18. You can spend ages there though and the Beefeaters do talks and tours around the Tower as well. If your 6 yo can concentrate long enough, they're very good.

Need to go back out in the garden now and make the most of it although you can see it's getting cloudier and there's rain forecast later. At least my painting is all dry as is the washing so it's been a profitable day so far.

Richtea I've got blue tits nesting as well. The cats sit on a wooden pergola expecting the birds to fly into their mouths, silly things. I think it's their version of a McDonalds drive-thru! All my cats have brought in birds and mice through the years but this ginger one is the worst (or best, whichever way you look at it).

£30 for us both, I think he'll enjoy it, I certainly will. Been looking at map to see where things are to plan out time there the best. Natural History Museum, Buckingham Palace, Westminster on the Monday. Tower of London, Tower Bridge on the Sunday. We're staying in Covent Garden so we are nice and central for everything
