Blimey Kez that's the last thing you need. We're supposed to have workmen repairing our chimney today, part of me hopes they're not doing it today as neither us or the neighbours are at home to provide water for them.

In emergency hot day purchases I just got a paddling pool. 3 guesses which one Wink? I think I need a fully laminated CJ on a stick to get the full effect.

Well, its absolutely persisting it down here!! Massive thunderstorms. DD doesn't like it. She spent all the time in the car screaming and crying.

Lovely and cool in Costa, and they are playing Stay, the proper OG. Still gives me goosebumps. And across the road are four men in boxers having their pictures taken!!!!!

It's very quiet on here tonight, are we all sleepy from the heat? Or imagining CJ on the paddling pool. I hope we get a thunderstorm here, its way too hot. Kids are still awake and grumbling ... although littlie is wrapped in a blanket and quilt!??!?! Mad!!!!

Late to the party tonight. Been to see my elderly friend whose husband is very ill (dementia, Parkinsons and heaven knows what else). It depresses the hell out of me if I am honest but I know she appreciates the visit especially as her own daughter isn't very sympathetic and says her father should be put in a home.

Watched last night's episode of "The Syndicate" when I came home. That Richard Rankin is pretty damn gorgeous. There was a scene at the end which should have been in OG. Big sigh....

Massive thunderstorm here. No point in trying to sleep at the moment. At least the rain has cooled everything off a bit.

That's a really nice thing for you to do ilove. It's sad when peoples own children don't help as much as what other people do.

Saw on Daily Mail online tonight that MKs getting a new gym installed in her new house. It showed her again looking preened to perfection as she left the house. I don't know how she's gonna manage OG filming. I still feel cheated no LT. Sad

Kelly it's a very strange set-up with my elderly friend. Her daughter had been my friend since schooldays but we grew apart (well it was more dramatic than that actually) when she started having an affair with a married university professor. His wife was supposedly ill...... but 26 years later, yes 26, he is still alive and the affair is still ongoing. However, I stay in touch with her mother. It's rather difficult at times but given the rough time she is having, I just grit my teeth. The idea was that I would go round to take her mind off everything else, but in reality, she just tells me all the horrible things she is having to deal with. I doubt she has the slightest idea how it depresses me. My own father had Parkinsons (but died with it rather than of it if you know what I mean) and he was nowhere as bad as this chap but I thank my lucky stars - and my Dad's lucky stars - that he never ended up as dependent as this man does. He would have hated it.

Loved your update last night by the way! CJ is just the absolute perfect romantic hero. Am convinced that the stories written by women are the best because they know exactly what other women will want in their hero.

ilove, you're a very good friend. Bet she loves to see you, even if she does spend all the time moaning. Mind, I sat and moaned to a friend this evening for an hour ... Felt better after!

kel, how is your mum doing? And how are you? Sending hugs.

I caught up with the syndicate too, I'm really enjoying it. Never watched any of the previous ones though, but don't know why! That scene at the end :)

No storm here yet, but could do with one.

It is quiet here tonight. SO hot, no thunder, rain or breeze! We've been at a school event tonight in a non air conditioned school hall which was horrid. I'm laying on the bed with a cold flannel! Picture of sophistication!

Thanks. I know ilove he's lovely isn't he? There's definitely not many like him to the pound. Actually I just watched the last scene of the syndicate too. Oo very nice. Trouble is with any scene like that, I'm still crazy and pretending it's Molly and CJ. Confused

My Mam is doing okay nickel thanks. Haven't seen her for a few days as I've lost my voice and got a bad throat so she has to keep away from any infections etc. I think she's just carrying on with things and hoping treatment won't affect her eating, drinking etc. We used to love going shopping together on a Saturday. That's something I miss at the moment. She doesn't really leave the house much for fear of picking up bugs. X

I didn't watch the other two series of The Syndicate either Nickel. Presume they were about lottery wins too? I googled the actors and see Matthew Lewis and Matthew McNulty were in the previous series.

Kelly I remember going through the treatment with my Mum. It's rough but think of the long term result. Hope you feel better soon. Sounds like the bug I had last week. I was so croaky when I met Nickel on Wednesday!

As always I'm late to the posting party but finally caught up! FF is another matter but I'm planning to download it all to kindle and take on holiday in just under 3 weeks!

Ice - I laughed out loud at your post a couple of pages back about your soldier "friend" - my kids are way too old to get away with anything like that so this thread etc remains my secret vice. BTW talking of secret vices what is the deal with alka seltzer? I have led a very sheltered life obviously - how on earth is it used in a ahem sexual situation?!?! I did divert to the secret vices thread but am still none the wiser....

I'm also enjoying The Syndicate. The last scene was very unexpected! I too thought "if only". Those actors make a lovely couple though. I think Sarah is a real natural beauty - she would make a good army medic! Polly Walker who plays the police inspector is with Hamilton Hodell btw, I knew her many years ago and keep an eye on what she is up to. They seem to do pretty well for her, she pops up regularly.

Kelly - hope all goes well with your mums treatment. Hugs to you. It is 30 years next week since my dad died of cancer just after I had finished my A levels. His was inoperable and untreatable with chemo/radio so we never went through that but it must be awful to be made so unwell by the treatment. Hope you are better very soon so you can see your mum again.

All you Tom Hardy fans - think I mentioned about 15,000 posts ago that he lives very near me. Not sure exactly which house but he is more or less opposite ds's friend. Not seen him, sadly!

Well that was all a bit disjointed, sorry about that! Rushing for work as always so it is a bit of a stream of consciousness!

Yesterday was full of CJ in paddling pool pictures and today Sean Ward tweeted a photo of himself in the shower. I'm having a bit of a job concentrating on anything now
