Happy new thread by the way!

icemistOBE · 21/05/2015 07:55

Wow dance that was a brilliant chapter*

So thread 18.... Incredible

Glad you all liked the ff I linked to yesterday. It was brilliantly written. I've found another that I am enjoying too- from Mes Jones POV. Will post s link if anyone wants- it's 80+ chapters

Morning! I love this thread - catching up from yesterday and we go from lovely aliums and Chelsea Flower Show entrance fees, to orphans lust for a gay man, no change there then HP dirty ff, US copyright laws followed by CJ in his paddling pool, then dances lusty update this morning. Totally bonkers and I love it.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words re the update. Bit of a filler chapter that one; hoping to create a fabulous finale as soon as I get some hours to spare. Away for the BH then month end at work so it might take a while to put up, but hoping it's gonna be a cracker if I can get all the stupid ideas out of my nut and onto paper before I forget, so it'll be worth it.

Rhubarb01 · 21/05/2015 10:34

Morning and hello thread 18! - (Not quite as good as Hello Europe! but imagine it delivered in the same over-excited tone). I am conserving my stupidity today as much as possible in order to join in with more live commenting tonight on semi-final 2. So this is just a brief hello. I was wondering however, if our eyes and ears on the world Ice has the latest feedback on the final episode of OG which I believe has just been broadcast in OZ. Fingers crossed there's a great response we really need a bit of pressure on the Beeb. (Excuse me starting to sound excited again and worringly a little FB too!) Have a good day ladies!

Nickel45 · 21/05/2015 10:44

dance ditto to all that, what a lovely Thursday morning treat.

Littlie has been whining constantly for the past two days (no kidding), I needed something to escape to ... Brilliant. Anyone any ideas how to stop a five year old whining and crying all the time (I realise I am gong to feel really guilty when it turns out she is ill or something! But it is driving me insane!!!). Just as well I have this little world to escape to, you wonderful women (and man!).

Off to pack now, away for the half term. Really hoping to find that the cottage has wifi else will be really stuck!

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 10:57

Poor you Nick I found chocolate, crisps and parking in front of the TV for back-to-back Come Outside or Big Cook, Little Cook always did the trick for whining toddlers. But then again I apply the same practice to myself when I'm feeling crappy, only substituting the DVD for OG or Poldark

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 11:00

Other than that, try the shouting "I'll give you something to cry about in a minute" tactic - always a winner at Woof Towers Grin

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 11:05

How about obliging grandparents who are local enough to have your child dumped dropped off, hopefully for the rest of the day, including meals? Just another little gem of advice from me, the Mary Poppins of Berkshire...

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 11:20

As orphan will testify, when you've been raised by orangutans there's not much room for human bonding - have you tried a banana or a piece of bamboo to chew on?

icemistOBE · 21/05/2015 11:30

Just bring shown I think in Australia. Will report back with how it's gone down. Can't believe it was us watching the last episode so many months ago

woof I remember many, many years ago when I was about five or so being informed by my Dentist that if I didn't stop crying he would give me something to cry about! Can you imagine that happening now? Parents would sue the practice, report it on twitter, contact the papers and report the dentist to his professional body for breaking the code of conduct or something. I expect my mum just felt sorry for the poor old dentist. Oh the good old days!

Used to love 'come outside'. Brilliant dog and the lovely Lynda Baron flying around in her spotty plane and dear old big cook, little cook I bet they wondered how the hell their attempts to forge a career as a stand-up double act ended in playing the roles of moronic pixie (no offence) like chefs! Never work again!

pixieg1rl · 21/05/2015 11:45

Nickel, lots of sympathy and not a lot of advice on that one. MrP and I have been known to take turns hiding in the toilet when DS gets like that. You'll probably find she's coming down with something in time for bank holiday and you'll feel horribly guilty for thinking she's been whiney

icemistOBE · 21/05/2015 11:51

Having had the whiny 5yr old for 3 days you have my utmost sympathies!
Oh and he's scribbled with a biro all over the fcuking bunk beds!!!! Was not impressed

OP posts:
pixieg1rl · 21/05/2015 11:52

I'm afraid I can't even think about big cook little Cook without thinking of this

Sorry to ruin another bit of childhood innocence Shock

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 11:55

Ah yes the good old days Rhu when you could smack the back of the legs in public when they were fighting over a ball without someone reporting you to Social Services and even let them take a Swisskit to school without fear of the Nut Allergy Taliban. When labels weren't invented so the child was simply naughty and sent to stand facing the corner that happened to me several times aged 5

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 11:59

Omg pixie that's Thomas, Harry Potter and Big Cook totally ruined now. There isn't a smutty YouTube clip or ff of Auntie Mabel's further adventures with Pippin is there?

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 12:02

Think yourself lucky he's not doing what Big Cook does in his bunk bed ice coz it's a devil of a job changing the sheets of a top bunk Blush

Rhubarb01 · 21/05/2015 12:03

Oh yes, Will you risk it for a swisskit? How very apt that seems now!

cjwoofwoof · 21/05/2015 12:06

I wonder what happened to the Big Cook actors?

Rhubarb01 · 21/05/2015 12:08

pixie I always found BCLC strange so that clip seems about right to me. Another one that always drove me bonkers was Balamory. Seeing as they had probably a collection of the most stupid inhabitants ever seen in one location I often wondered how in god's name they were supposed to cope with real life. Imagine Miss Hooley had an Ofsted Inspection, Penny and Susie got a visit from HMRC, Archie actually needed to apply for a patent or worst of all PC Plum had to investigate a serial killer!

Nickel45 · 21/05/2015 12:08

Well that's another one I can't ever watch again :)
Hey ho! Kids are just getting into fireman Sam, I'm sure they'll be something dodgy out there about that ..... Wink

woof unfortunately parents are the other side of the country, but you aren't too far from me, are you? ... If you're offering!!! She's probably tired and just being a five year old, but it's incredibly annoying!! ice sympathies to you too, and drawing on the beds .... Have you had him scrubbing the colouring off with wet wipes? I used to (who am I kidding, still do!) make mine clean every last bit off who they do something like that.
