Evening all. Hadn't realised we were so close to needing a new thread. 6.5 months after OG finished and still going strong.

I've been a one woman garden centre today packing the plants up ready for our charity sale next week. I hope they all sell!

Looking forward to CJ's arrival on Wednesday. What time are you delivering him BK? Can't remember if you are driving or coming by train?

Thanks pixie. It turns out that I'm even less motivated to declutter than to write, so it was the lesser of two evils this afternoon. At least with the writing the end is in sight - I think I could spend the next year trying to sort my house and make no progress. And I have no pie making skills to fall back on. I really am a shit wife.

Well, the menfolk do like a nice big welcoming pie to get stuck into....

Indeed. Bet CJ would love a nice warm pie. Maybe ilove could knock one together for his arrival on Wednesday, have it waiting on the table for him getting there.

It depends what time BK is going to deliver him. I do a nice rhubarb pie and it's just ready to pick in the garden too. Reckon he's a custard or cream man with his pie?

Jen you need to tell me which kilt fitter we are going to for CJ's outfit.

Just marking my place on thread seventeen and saying hello to one and all.

I gave up on clutter a long time ago and only make an effort when anyone is visiting. I decided that life's too short for sorting out my kids bedrooms particularly as they are old enough to sort them out themselves and if they want to live in a pigsty it's up to them. I do change their bedding, though. I just try to keep the main areas downstairs reasonable now. I try to take the attitude that it's everyone's responsibility not just mine because we all live here and if they don't like it they should do something about it. Gosh that sounds militant - see that's what OG has done for me - made me militant and bloody minded!

Yes thanks ilove my sons friend put a sympathy card through our door for him she is such a sweetie and she had written a lovely long message for him. So cute . It's just the house feels odd without her but have kept busy so all good.

Have we co-ordinated Richtea's and orphan's arrival on Friday afternoon? We'll not be in the city centre at that time you see.

I'm pretty sure orphan will be keeping close tabs on you guys and won't need instruction. I'm expecting her to morph into train seat disguise for CJ's journey up. Maybe she'll attempt a pie disguise next..

I now wish I was coming on Friday for the big fitting - maybe I should arrange to work in Edinburgh for the day!

Just got back from watching Far From the Madding Crowd. Loved it and there was even some scything, but sadly not topless. Gabriel Oak reminded me a little of The Raisin when he was in his prime, so I was very happy. May have to add the actor to the wrestling list

There's a scything festival near me in a couple of months. Do I go or risk disappointment at what real scythers actually look like?

Very late to bed tonight and work tomorrow, worse luck. Was about to get into bed when I remembered I hadn't locked the shed up so had to grab the torch and leg it down to the bottom of the garden.

I have a sore throat too tonight. Hope it disappears before CJ arrives.

Must remember to turn off my 'Have some human decency....' alarm before Thursday so my friend doesn't comment on it.

Just caught up on pixies wonderful update, nice treat for a Monday night. Think you got the emotion levels right there - what with smurf's mental state and CJ's level of guilt and personal angst!!

Another treat from jen tonight - really sad that we are getting to the end, but we are still reading this because it is really great!!

ilove think we will do the train, but the thought about orphan and seating again has me wondering if the chauffered Range Rover might be a better option - more privacy for debriefing!! Should be there in time for tea plus I'm a bit partial to a bit of rhubarb pie if there is any going spare!!? CJ is definitely going to be a cream man!!

Oh rhub I'm with you there on the housework front. It wasn't mentioned in my wedding vows!!! Don't think anybody has died for not doing it, plus agree with the we all make the mess so we can all help clear it up!! Nothing militant with that approach as far as I can see - plain common sense!

pixie re the DS and girlfriend bedroom saga - for once DH came up trumps and made the decision! So all I had to do was reiterate what his Father had said... No!! I think you are correct in that squaddiegate would have led to me agreeing to most things!! Oh the joy of working in a garrison town!!
