Thank you ice loved chapter 27 - ahhhhhh Smile

icemistOBE · 20/05/2015 06:26

I'm glad you enjoyed it whajeb I couldn't stop reading it on Sunday. Her other stories are brilliant too.

Work today... Just noticed we are nearly at 1000 posts again! Try not to talk too much and I'll do the next thread when I get home... Or if we get to 1000 does someone else want to do it?

Mumtothenipper · 20/05/2015 07:37

I'll put that one on my to read list ice thank you.

dance I am 10 chapters into the hp one. Words feel me, I will never be able to think of hp in the same way again. As much as I feel I must admit to not finding Alan rickman to be unattractive in love actually, I never fancied him as snape.... The first chapter is rather startling (understatement on the century) but then what I have read after that seems to move I to more familiar (if not to hp) bdsm erotica.... Just very strange visualising snape and hermione in role. I feel a little as though I have entered a secret world after reading!!!! Have you read all of it dance?

rhubarb Babs Windsor!!! Carry on Our Girl! Brilliant!

BK28 · 20/05/2015 10:56

Well what can I say ... left this yesterday on Neville Shute now I have been blown away by the thought of Thomas the Tank engine with Rosie... really what goes through the minds of these writers! My DS is nearly 20 but still has a real interest in steam trains, we have to visit all the conservation railways, plus we read the TTTE stories over and over again, my memories could become tarnished!! Reading some of the HP QS also left me thinking this is wrong!!

Perhaps the ff world of OG is different because it doesn't impact on child hood memories... we bring an adult approach to it!

Even though I did A level Eng Lit I think all it did was to actually put me off reading anything serious: had a M&B phase in my early twenties - pure escapism in a boyfriend free period. FF has kinda woken the need to read, will need to take a look at some of your erstwhile suggestions.

So last nights updates were a real pleasure to read - that Matt is a nasty piece of work rhub your plot twists are ingenious.

Good to see lola back in the fold... perhaps having CJ to stay has inspired her.

Nice pics jen but she is a bit too smiley, perhaps she is keener than he is... there is hope for us! Have to agree a round neck T minus the jacket is a much safer look than some of those awful collarless shirts he favours!! I've always thought he is a man who needs a collar to show off that gorgeous neck... better go and do some work after that thought!! Wink

orphan · 20/05/2015 11:14

icemist thanks to you I've spent the last hour or so reading the 50sg ff you linked to, rather than cleaning the bathroom and hoovering. So massive thank you!!Smile

Whilst I'm on the topic of reading, have any of you read Dorothy Dunnetts's Francis Crawford/Lymond series? I've never met anyone who has despite her often being cited by authors as an influence. When I was about 14, my mum gave me a box of random second hand books and in it was the last novel in the series. Despite not having read the previous ones I read it and Francis became my ultimate tortured hero and subject of a teen obsession. I still reread them now.The series is set in the 16th century and very intricate - loads of literary allusions, but a real swashbuckling adventure. I'd be sooo happy if I'd finally found a fellow Lymond lover! trying hard not to sound desperate

icemistOBE · 20/05/2015 11:21

Isn't it fab orphan I was really moved by it

OP posts:
orphan · 20/05/2015 11:27

Yes, icemist I really didn't know how she was going to turn things round for them and the urge to kick Christian in the opening chapters was overwhelming!! Now are you going to make my day and reveal you've read all the Lymond books? Like you did when I found out you'd read the Sadler's Wells books? Smile

Rhubarb01 · 20/05/2015 11:48

Morning. I'm a bit calmer today. Got a bit over-excited on here last night about live commenting on Eurovision - gonna repeat the experience on Thursday - watch out! As you're aware Rhubarb Land is a bit dull by comparison!

Just thinking about Nipper's suggestion of 'Carry on Our Girl' with Babs Windsor in the title role and can't help thinking this could well be the plot of the next Orphan &Woof project. (That has a ring to it - Morecombe * Wise, Croft & Perry, Galton & Simpson, Orphan & Woof). Come on ladies, I'm sure you could come up with some brilliant stuff. Just think Sid James in the Major Morley role, maybe Jim Dale would end up being CJ?- over to you!!

Onlygirljen · 20/05/2015 11:56

icemist I've lost most of my morning to that fsog ff! Thanks for posting!

Ilovelblue · 20/05/2015 12:17

BK I think we'd all be a bit too smiley if we were posing with BA. And it's not just his neck which is gorgeous!

orphan · 20/05/2015 12:19

Heehee rhubarb just coughed up my coffee at the thought of Jim Dale as CJ! Funny you should mention Babs Windsor though, as I seem to recall woof touring the working men's clubs as a tribute act: Baps Wind'sUp. Her finale brought the audience to their feet in a mad rush for the exit.

BK28 · 20/05/2015 12:31

I agree ilove but if I thnk of any of his other gorgeous parts I won't actually achieve any work today!! Working from home is a killer as you ladies are a really good form of distraction!!

SoEverybodyDance · 20/05/2015 13:14

Hi Nipper I didn't read all of it. Like you I got startled at the first chapter, and dipped in and out of it after that. It was the first time I'd read a non Our Girl FF and the first time I'd read any fiction really about BDSM. It was too long generally and much too long on the lurid detail especially in the finale! BUT I could see how those characters, in another weird world, might occupy those roles and in some way I thought the author dealt with that quite well.

You're right about the secret world Nipper, that's for sure! I got the impression that the author was a person who was really into BDSM and had a mission to educate! And educate me she did!

Thank you for reading it... I always wanted to know what someone else thought of it!

orphan · 20/05/2015 14:19

woof has obvs had some more medication and updated her ff. Do Not read whilst operating heavy machinery or drinking hot liquids.

woof to think it wasn't that long ago that you were swinging with abandon you still enjoy swinging in certain circles don't you? with your adopted orangutan parents. Truly inspirational.

orphan · 20/05/2015 14:40

Oops just realised the 'dont operate heavy machinery' advice is usually found on soporifics! Clearly, that's not the case here. It's just that reading woof's ff should come with a health warning. And I'm über excited that Rupert is going to get a starring (and I hope, stirring) role in the next chapter.

WHAJEB1 · 20/05/2015 15:03

dance and nipper had a wee peek at that HP ff - serios finky kuckery!!!! Naughtiness in the wizarding world seems fraught with danger - being able to read someone's mind - that would get me into a lot of bother Blush. Will however look at both characters completely differently when next see the films. Do you think maybe El james wrote it Grin

I did get a review if reviewer reading this it did make me smile saying that my CJ was DDB, thankfully they let me know that it meant domesticated but dominant in the bedroom BlushBlush needless to say I changed the next chapter pronto - think I'll leave that to the pro's!!!

A good twilight ff I read ages ago was the Cullen legacy - angsty and well written but with a hea - the Edward character is an ex-marine, has to help!!!!

Away off to read woofs .........

orphan · 20/05/2015 17:14

Having had a quick scan through the HP ff, I agree dance that the writer must be seriously into BDSM in real life. She seemed quite keen on giving links to various sites that I wouldn't dare look at. I just couldn't get the image of Alan Rickman with badly dyed hair out of my mind which was rather a turn off.

Ilovelblue · 20/05/2015 17:16

Daren't read anything like this in work and have resisted woof's as well until I get home. Have, however, read Greenstuff's latest upload. She writes at an amazing speed and it's all good quality stuff. I hope when this one is finished, she has another bubbling away in the background.

orphan · 20/05/2015 17:19

Oh and my dp is DDB as well: he generally overrides my desire to have the window open and insisted on a horribly firm mattress... I assume those are the sorts of things she meant?

Paintedcherryblossoms · 20/05/2015 17:27

Just read your latest woof above and beyond yet again and I have to admit it is both an honour and very thrilling to be included in the plot it makes me giggle even more so thank you for that Smile

Paintedcherryblossoms · 20/05/2015 17:41

Now read green stuffs too and really enjoying this and the super hero speed chapter updates. In fact have now just got into the habit of liking reading everyone else's to do anything myself anymore...too spoilt Smile

icemistOBE · 20/05/2015 18:00

I was googling it a few days ago and any fan fiction involving characters in kids books, in some countries is classed as paedophile writing and is illegal Shock

OP posts:
Onlygirljen · 20/05/2015 18:18

The Thomas one should be illegal. Still can't get past slutty Rosie and her steam hole Shock

painted - I (selfishly) would love you to do more New York - I really enjoyed it!

Paintedcherryblossoms · 20/05/2015 18:23

Thanks jen had been thinking about it today but thinking and then creating the space to do something about it are two different things when it's just too easy in a tired state to get distracted by the other great stories and the lovely shenanigans on here. I am embarrassed to say when not at work I have gotten a little bit lazy lately Blush
