Just catching up with ff. If any of you are greenstuff I am really loving Don't you remember me. Definitely worth reading! We have some absolutely fabuous ff at the moment (so happy most of the authors are on here, which is amazing!!). Thank you, everyone, who takes the time and effort. It's much appreciated :)

Onlygirljen · 08/02/2015 19:12

Dammit, I'm tall and have a distinct lack of icebergs - don't think I'll be getting much penetration action from CJ in that case Sad

cjwoof I picture you as more of a Kim Cattrall in sex and the city role - always ready with an entendre and the cast member most likely to lose her clothes at the sight of a wrestling contender a moments notice Smile

Good luck for tomorrow richtea! Hope you get a swivel chair in the new office Grin

Rhubarb01 · 08/02/2015 19:23

I have to say CJwoof that I do think "the lady doth protest too much" and you are obviously the exact opposite of what you suggest. Although the gorilla, ledge-hugging episode did give me images of planet of the apes at one point and I kept imagining this monkey-like person hanging on for dear life under CJ/BA/KA's cloak, I've decided that the chances are you conform more to onlygirls model or are in fact possibly a supermodel masquerading as a mum. Well, some of them are mums and could fit with the age range on here and definitely would be considered yummy mummies at the school gate - so your protestations have undone you now, I'm afraid (a suitable euphemism!) Your secret is out!

apsara03 · 08/02/2015 19:27

Good luck with the new job tomorrow richtea.
Didn't manage any gardening but have finally cleared dinning table of lego/toys which have accumulated since Xmas and birthdays and moved a bookcase on landing -wwe'we've having the lift converted into another bedroom and they knoch through this week
-even more mess.. There's a big hole in the wall as they've got to drop the windows on the stairs.. It will be worth it but ever where is covered in dust

Ilovelblue · 08/02/2015 19:43

Well, I've already described myself once today, so there's not much guessing needed as to what I look like! Definitely of the opinion that CJ will like a short(ish) lady of the small iceberg variety.

Gardening is my main hobby when I have time so I'm usually out in most weathers but problems with my shoulder then the prolonged frost over Christmas and into January plus very chilly conditions last weekend means I'm behind with the big clear up. Did well today though and was outside until almost 5.15. Have you noticed how much lighter it is getting now? Spring might not be too far away.

When I booked for Bailbrook House, I honestly didn't think we'd still be going by late February, but here we are, with no sign of giving up. Am loving it!

moojangles · 08/02/2015 19:49

ilove whereabouts in the Cotswolds are you going?

richtea good luck in the new job, be brilliant.

Aren't quite a few on here on the short side?

Ilovelblue · 08/02/2015 20:12

mooj our second hotel is just south of Stow on the Wold.

moojangles · 08/02/2015 20:17

Nice

Paintedcherryblossoms · 08/02/2015 20:25

Agree Nickel really enjoying greenstuff and "don't you remember me" can't wait for Chapter 5

cherin · 08/02/2015 20:30

Hya, checking up after a good 36h of RL madness and you write soooo much!
Quickly: yes I used the 0-to5k app to start running, and now I am on MapMyRun, today I did almost 12k, with lots of ups and downs and most of the ups I had to walk...but it was really good! A glorious sunny day for London, my neighbour as a running buddy is always great company (lots of ladies' chatting, I guess it's good for lungs?), and then lunch at friends with all the kids entertaining each other....
I am still thinking about the drawing for valentines card but getting short of time!
And I am reading too much Ff, I love it all plus I also glimpsed at some hunger games themes and that's soooo not good!!
(Always do it on the phone, too, might gonna need new glasses soon!!)

(Me not short, but fairly short sighted :-)

cherin · 08/02/2015 20:36

(Everything is relative in life, I am 1.68...whatever you call it in inches ;-), at least 20cm shorter than DH!)

moojangles · 08/02/2015 20:45

I'm 13 inches shorter than DH, about 35 cm ish!!!

orphan · 08/02/2015 20:52

So glad everyone's enjoying YHMAHello. When I first mentioned it (in relation to onlygirl's writing) I didn't really expect anyone to know it, but then a few of you (including onlygirl) said you'd already read it, then several more of you bought it and have liked it. I think, it just goes to show we really do share a certain outlook and sense of humour.Smile

moojangles · 08/02/2015 20:56

I loved it, got her others too. Several of you suggested I am Pilgrim which I read too. This thread is a godsend in so many ways

orphan · 08/02/2015 21:01

I really hope there's a sequel soon to 'I am Pilgrim.' It was planned as a trilogy, but the first took several years to write. You could tell the author is a film script writer cos it's such a visual read with lots of set piece action.

Nickel45 · 08/02/2015 21:10

I go I am a pilgrim out of the library a month ago, but it hasn't quit made it to the top of the pile yet .... But is still sitting by my bed .... In fact, now you've reminded me, as long as there aren't too many ff plates by the time I go to bed, I'll start it tonight.

richtea, I hope everything goes really well tomorrow .... try very hard not to burst out laughing when you are given a swivel chair .... just a little chuckle to yourself will help the nerves! And remember, you are brilliant, and we are all (virtually) with you ... especially if you have your phone, so you can check in sneakily!! Will be thinking of you xx

orphan · 08/02/2015 21:15

moojangles really interested to know what you think of the next two McFarlane novels. I loved, loved Here's Looking at You but was slightly disappointed by the third. Maybe I need to read it again and see if I like it better.

richtea will be thinking of you tomorrow. Try not to faint if you get a swivel chair - remember you want to break in gently your fellow workers... Aim for 'normal' for your first day, then consider unleashing your true mad self!Grin

orphan · 08/02/2015 21:16

Haha nickel just seen you've already given my advice!

Nickel45 · 08/02/2015 21:25

Hee hee, orphan, great minds ... :)

I got "it's not me it's you" out of the library too .... In the vague hope I find time to read! Is that the third one? I'm also working my way through a lad of Jill Mansell ones I bought second hand ... Similar sort of style, easy reads, doesn't require much concentrating! About all I can cope with at the moment!

orphan · 08/02/2015 21:36

nickel yes it's the third. Still funny but the romance wasn't (for me anyway) quite as captivating.

Richtea19 · 08/02/2015 21:58

Wish there was a sequel to I am Pilgrim, easily one of the best books I've read for a while. I have started YHMAHELLO but haven't managed much this weekend.

ilove DH and I had one of first weekends away in Stow on the Wold. I love that part of the country.

I'm short, I'd like to say petite.... But my lack of icebergs makes up for the hip and bum measurement!!!!

So nervous about tomorrow, but thank you all for your good lucks. Stag pants are layed out with outfit of choice. It's like a first day at school. I've made my packed lunch too! I don't suppose I will get a chance to go on my phone at all but will check in if I can. Early night for me.

stressybird · 08/02/2015 22:03

Crikey, I can't keep up with you lot! AWOL again for a few days and nearly at the end of another thread.

Very busy RL at the moment, hubby and best friends birthday, major car troubles (and associated costs) and work has been...interesting.

Trying to catch up with ff which is just brilliant

Also have to confess to what I think might be a new crush starting. Has anyone been watching Guy Martin? Thirty something lad from Grimsby, big sideburns. I've caught him in a few things now, DH likes him as, in his words, "he's not up himself" and I rather like him. Certainly not CJ but there's something about him. That said, DH accused me of eyeing up waiter in Pizza Express today. Might just be the hormones. I think it's getting to that time of the month.

orphan · 08/02/2015 22:07

ilove I'm so envious of your trip. I've only been to the Cotswolds twice - a wkend break at Lords of the Manor hotel in Upper Slaughter then a week in a NT cottage in Snowshill. Very romantic both times, but don't suppose you want that with your friend! Calling CJ...Smile

icemistOBE · 08/02/2015 22:11

Good luck for tomorrow richtea

orphan · 08/02/2015 22:11

stressy sorry, but NO!! Dp really likes Guy Martin and I think he's a nice bloke, but fanciable...? It's the Wolverine hairstyle that's a turn off for me.
