cjwoof were you doing any measuring or were they fitting you with the new lingerie?

orphan · 28/01/2015 22:53

Who'dda believed it? Thread XI!

Being spoilt for ff tonight. After onlygirl's brill cliff hanger, I've just read lola's. Great idea lola!

I assume BA must have had/has a girlfriend/boyfriend but no amount of idle googling has turned up any info has it? He's a master at keeping things private and obviously doesn't crave the limelight. Or maybe he's celibate and actually a practising monk (mmmm, memories of The Thorn Birds...Grin)

Going to read spo now.

orphan · 28/01/2015 22:55

cjwoof were you practising the gorilla grip or entertaining them with your Sid James impression?Smile

Ilovelblue · 28/01/2015 22:58

Ooooh orphan must admit, I did have a thing about Father Ralph in the Thorn Birds. I don't even think I knew he was gay in RL at the time. I used to cry every time there was a funeral and they were carrying the coffin across the top of a field. How many years ago was that?!

Richtea19 · 28/01/2015 23:03

I loved the Thorn Birds, Richard Chamberlain, he was lovely in his day, is he dead?

orphan · 28/01/2015 23:10

Still alive - 80 years old so we wouldn't be cougars!!

orphan · 28/01/2015 23:15

I loved him in Shogun as well. Ooh, they don't make 'em like they used to, do they? Though that Indian Summers drama coming, looks like it could be really good.

cjwoofwoof · 28/01/2015 23:30

orphan lets just say for the purposes of these particular meetings I was required to be more Barbara Windsor than Sid James, and the gorilla grip was thoroughly tested discussed

orphan · 28/01/2015 23:34

Ooo er and did your bra keep falling off at inopportune moments?!Grin

orphan · 28/01/2015 23:39

spo how do you keep coming up with such brill chapters? Loved CJ's 'grasp' of football and the perfect SHAAtt!Grin

cjwoofwoof · 29/01/2015 00:06

Yes it did orphan especially during the PT group-bonding sessions after the staff meetings when we were all practicing the arms-across-chest stretches, in...and out...in...and out, whoops there it goes Grin

richtea, catching up with bits of the threads last night and see you have been busy lately!

I'm sure you don't want to swell on it but just to say I'm glad everything's sorted with the hubby. I too had Mr stressy questioning what exactly I do when I'm giggling away on my iPad of an evening. Took a bit of convincing and me actually showing him some of the posts but I think he finally believes that I'm not having an on line affair with anyone.

Mr Stressy is currently throwing his toys out of his pram over his much time I spend in the gym, which btw isn't that much, but I've just discovered spinning again locally after several years away from it and I'm addicted! I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a few months, with some lovely ladies who are not only at least 10 years younger but much slimmer so I'm determined to at least make the best of what I've got.

And congrats on the new job too, fantastic news.Grin

icemistOBE · 29/01/2015 07:49

I have another group (of mums) that I've been chatting to for about 6 years so hubby thinks that's who I'm chatting or giggling at when I'm on here. Although when BA comes back from Canada (they film till April but not sure how many more eps BA is in) and I finally (being positive) get my autograph I havent a clue how to explain that!

icemist yes please do a 'best of' for Reign. What sort of shenanigans will KA get up to I wonder? And will his goblet feature?

Meeting up later with a couple of friends including the one who was given the OG dvd (but hadn't seen the series) so will see what her verdict is. She'd really enjoyed the first few episodes and could def see the CJ attraction but was not as deranged if not to the same extent as us.

Nickel45 · 29/01/2015 09:28

Morning all. Lovely photos icemist :)

Did you do a best of reign for the last episode ... it seems to have passed me by completely! I was trying to see if I could watch on line, but don't seem to be able to get anything to work.

I'm back at work again today, so trying to avoid ffs. Loved all the updates yesterday. onlygirl, I'm really hooked by yours, fantastic writing, but that ending was a surprise .... can't wait to see what happens next. lola really enjoyed the interview, I could really imagine it happening! And SPO, brilliant as ever, cricket (blimey! how did you work all those that ins and outs out?!), football, tatts (Molly's is brilliant!), shaats, and mansfield singing (who knew he'd be able to sing!!).

Right, best crack on, apparently we aren't allowed to use the internet at work!! Meanies!

cjwoofwoof · 29/01/2015 09:41

Nice pics icemist Captain Stern Face Arms Folded one of my faves. Like Nickel I didn't get to view best bits of last Reign Ep either, blocked or something, so looking forward to a double dose when you've done tonight's. Hope the goblet will be overflowing Grin

Rhubarb01 · 29/01/2015 10:08

Morning all!

I'm having a bit of weird crisis. To roughly quote Molly "I can't get my head round normal!" I should explain that last night for the first time in a couple of months I had the house to myself and managed to sit and watch uninterrupted Episode 1 expecting all the magic to return - but it didn't! I am now questioning my sanity! Instead, I found myself looking at it in a detached sort of technical way thinking stuff like - why does Smurf have a different strap on his headset to Molly and why are some of them wearing head scarves and not others? Looking out for significant nods, winks, glances up and down and of course laughing inappropriately, particularly when 'blisters' were mentioned because I can only think of lola's ff now on that!

Last week I thought I might have decompressed and now I am questioning my sanity because everything is feeling normal and boring. Does this prove I am fully decompressed or am I actually two rounds short of a full magazine because I think that is wrong?

I have also started to hope that there is a second series because I would love to start speculating about it for the next few months and would really enjoy all the dissection of each episode that would follow. I think a new series would probably give us six months discussion at least!

Ilovelblue · 29/01/2015 10:34

Snow here this morning but not enough to disrupt my journey to work and it seems to be melting now.

icemist that first picture is one of my favourites. When I watch that scene on the DVD, my stomach flips over every time.

Richtea any idea when you will start your new job?

LolaKent14 · 29/01/2015 10:35

Rhubarb
Don't feel anything wrong with you. I watched ep 4 & 5 last week. I got up midway thru 4 to make a cup of tea and didn't pause it.
I spend my time looking for continiuty errors and also noticed the different chin straps.
Having been housebound for a few weeks I am over analysing everything and a small headache has developed into Smurf type symptoms and am now terrified of going to a football ground in case same head disaster happens to me.
I recommend a good strong dose of Our Zombie Girl should have you back to normal in a matter of minutes!

Sorry about the blisters I could hardly watch Broadchurch this week for fear of what I might write next!

Nickel45 · 29/01/2015 11:03

Rhubarb, I'm the same ... I even managed to persuade littlie that she didn't want to watch the start of Ep 3 (Molly upside down) yet again at bedtime (and she said "yes it is a bit boring"!!!!). I haven't watched a whole episode for ages now, but I think maybe it is because I have watched it so many times, it doesn't hold the same kind of 'excitement', for want of a better word. And really, we have RL to contend with too, so I reckon that actually I shouldn't be wanting to watch it all the time like I did at the beginning, it was like an additiction needing to watch every day. Also, we have all the fabulous ff which has fuelled our addiction too, and which has probably moved us on a bit from the series ... and I think it's brilliant to be able to laugh about the blisters, the end of ep 3 with the zombies just isn't the same for me any more (how lovely was that the first time we saw it ... and now I just giggle!), and other bits and bobs which we have come up with on here. I think I'd be more worried if I was still wanting to watch it all the time constantly, to be honest. Given that we are all still on here and all still "discussing" OG (well, CJ!) I wouldn't say we have hit decompression just yet! Maybe this is normalisation now!!

pixieg1rl · 29/01/2015 11:08

Rhubarb, I don't think any of us are still on the same level of excitement about OG these days. I haven't watched it since Christmas time and I'm aware that it won't have the same effect on me when I do.

We have all spent A LOT of time thinking about the characters, and to a greater or lesser extent they've taken on a life of their own for us. I read other people's ff or watch the programme and sometimes think 'that's not MY CJ'. I've spent quite some time reading the scripts and researching stuff for ff and when I remember the series I think 'that would never happen' or something is done in a clunky way.

Rhubarb01 · 29/01/2015 11:34

Well, I suppose I'm not crazy then - I just need to feel really interested in something because I'm definitely not interested in real life at the moment. It would be very handy if I could get terribly interested in spring cleaning, cooking, clearing things out or organising all the muddles - stuff that would actually be useful. I expect my family are quaking at the thought that I might result to my usual cure which involves massively reorganising the furniture layout in half the house because I need to make a change in my life and that's all I can think of to do. Still keep telling myself I'm not crazy - just restless!
