New thread in time for the new year - hopefully this year will see the back of some awful characters.

I would personally like to see the following rounded up and shoved in a deep hole in the Red Rec:

Izzy
Anna
Owen
Gary
Michelle
Tracey-Luv
Gavin
Faye
Yasmeen and her entire extended family
The Community Centre
Kylie
Todd
Steph

That'll do for starters.

Just catching up from Friday. Craig is so lovely, what a shame he's going to get tangled in that mess.
Still think this dev business is silly, no rhyme nor reason to it!

Didn't Gary have a thing with Zoe the babysitter who is now Lady Mary's maid in Downton Abbey working alongside Liam Ladrags Connor and next door to Gloria, St Ella's Mum?

I see that Simon is to feature in an upcoming storyline also featuring the sulky young fellow Zeedan (?)...something to do with an allotment. Yawn.

I wish Simon would feck off to Portsmouth to live with Peter, horrible lippy brat that he is.

And I was just thinking yesterday that, as Simon has rarely been seen recently, perhaps the actor wanted to quit and spend more time on his schoolwork like the original Nick Tilsley.

hildasmuriel, isn't downton the place to go after Corrie?! I still think of Anna in downton as Zoe, and him as Liam Connor! Gloria will always be Sheila Corkhill to me though.

Just watched 5 episodes back to back. (Work in a school, love half-term!)
Another yawnfest.
Maybe Julie is going to join Dev in India and then leave him to join a hippy bus going round Asia? Love the way the children's childcare is only sorted out the day before. Only on Corrie!

Have missed Tim. Loved his 'dusting'. Hope he turns out to be a strong influence on Faye in this ridiculous storyline. For some reason I thought Faye was 14, being 12 is just so young. In real life would SS get involved?

Hate Owen. Hope it turns out that he wasn't completely innocent and the reason Linda left him because he was an utter bastard and then refused any contact with the girls for selfish reasons.

Amazing seeing both Jake and Joseph in one week, perhaps to remind us that Katie and Izzy are perfect mums, not like their own.

Ladytron - Steph seems the type that just wants an easy life. Plus, if she's not mangeress any more it means she has more time to fawn over Andy/Gavin.

Plus, the chickens story isn't too terrible... Anything that involves Sally pulling one of her funny faces is worth having, even if it's just to contrast some of the more serious stuff that's happening on screen.

I had hoped they would phase out Simon. It sounds like another time filler, having a story about an allotment, yawn.

Oh God, I bet the allotment story is some competitive thing, I hate those storylines. You know the 'who can play the best piano piece', 'who has the best window box' etc etc. Supposed to be funny but just tedious.

I'm thinking that the windasses might like Faye storyline. After all, what would happen if for once in their lives they had a trauma free week?Grin

millimat maybe one day someone off the Street will land a gentry and not a servant part. Both Corrie and Downton have baffled me with their under use of Sue Johnstone when I think of her wonderfulness as Sheila Corkhill and Barbara Royle.

Gloria could have been a fantastic adversary for Liz, Rita, Eileen and Gail, they definitely missed a trick there. I presume that the actress didn't want a long term role. Now with Deirdre gone we are one strong female character down. Maybe we could get a petition to bring back Gloria. After all she still has relatives on the street so it wouldn't seem odd.

I love Sally's line about not wanting to go to prison! 'They always pick on the middle class ones. It's alright for you you've already been there'.

Laughed out loud at Sally and her "middle class" fear. Also enjoying the bad Tracy. That's not going to end well.
