Corrie thread - New thread for the New Year, time for another disaster?

New thread in time for the new year - hopefully this year will see the back of some awful characters.

I would personally like to see the following rounded up and shoved in a deep hole in the Red Rec:

Izzy
Anna
Owen
Gary
Michelle
Tracey-Luv
Gavin
Faye
Yasmeen and her entire extended family
The Community Centre
Kylie
Todd
Steph

That'll do for starters.

Yes PLEASE get rid of Gareh and Isseh and Owen and Anna. (Anna actually seems like a lovely person in RL!)

I think they may be going for a suicide storyline with Gary. Gary kills himself over depression over beautiful Asian girl who's name I can't remember/ Tina / Izzy / being unemployed / Afghanistan / being an incestuous weirdo. Then, Faye goes off the rails with guilt and they all move somewhere for a fresh start.

Quite like Steph and Tracy.

But I will shout at the screen "Owen. OWEN Do not get on the feckin' bus "

You cannot have Owen in your list (but YY to Anna, Izzy, Gary, Katy, Faye - off you trot)

I like Steph because she's a feisty character and not defined by her relationships to men. Hope they keep her that way.
Just realised my shoot list at the end of the other thread didn't include Sophie so just for you Anne I'll put her in the firing line and save Nick Wink

I like watching Tracy Grin I found her distress over Rob fairly believable and I do like the fact she has more than one aspect to her personality.

Thanks Anne. I'm torn about Tracey, she is so awful, but she does get a lot of good plotlines, I think she'd leave a very big gap if she went.

Yasmin is growing on me, just because of the way she brings out the social climber in Sally. I love the way they have successfully paired Sally the snob up with Tim the most unpretentious, laid back bloke in the Street, and the way they've blended Kev back into the family. Maddie has grown on me too.

I don't really like Steph, but agree that it is good to have a single female character who isn't constantly in and out of relationships.

Love Sally and Tim so much and like Nicks new pairing he needs a bit of that!

Much as I don't like the character, the Kylie storyline is stupid IMO.

The guy intruded. Why didn't she call the police-if she didn't want to due to drugs,fair play but she hadn't taken drugs, he was pushing, why didn't she just tell David he was Max's Dad and he was trying to make her take drugs? David knows she'd had problems and he was working with her for it, and he knows Max has a Dad somewhere.......

I'm over-thinking this, aren't I Grin

Same with why didn't Roy call the police when those lads were antagonising him outside the shop....

I quite like Tracy, she's a love to hate character and works well with the other established characters. Some comedy moments between her and Ken/Deirdre/Liz/Steve.

I agree with the others on the list especially Gary, he's definitely Corries most pointless character for me.

Although dare I say it some Sally/Yasmeen comedy could be funny.

Oh I don't mind Steph either.

I'd love to see Deirdre back for the new year.

I found it rather cringey that tracey was stood around in background for ages "seductively" holding and sucking a candy cane in Rovers.

I quite like evil Tracy. She is going to run rings around whats-his-name, Liz's bloke and make his life hell just for entertainment. She's a great manipulator of people.

Also, did anyone think Steph gave up the manager's job at Nick's a bit too easily to Leanne-Bowlegs?

Hardly anyone on the Street has pets. Just Eccles Grin

Faye needs a cute storyline about finding kittens. Then Emily could have a kitten and Gary could win Aaliyah (is that her name!?) back with his tender behaviour towards them. Steve's depression could be cured too. And one kitten could scratch someone we don't like.

I should be a Corrie scriptwriter! Wink
