Original thread here, disappearing scarves, grey-haired doppelgängers and twin theories abound. Has anyone done a spreadsheet yet?

Thanks auntie

Yes, it's a pointless, pretentious garment alright. I was attributing it to the fact the writers are 30 something men and maybe not parents?

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 05/12/2014 20:09

It could have been made out of a baby blanket or something, so that he could carry it with him as he got older.

EauRouge:

Nous avons besoin d'encore un fil. Voudriez vous nous obliger en y créant?

(was that horrible, or OK?)

I don't speak French. I like motor racing.

OK, will do. Grin

Voila! Grin

TanteStella · 05/12/2014 21:04

Merci beaucoup!

Avec ce nouveau fil, vous nous plaisez vraiment!

Tony has described the scarf as one that Emily had specially made for Ollie, incorporating his initials (wonders idly what the middle N stands for).

I thought it looked quite light. It was wrapped around him mid-afternoon (?) at the castle. It wasn't round his neck just before he disappeared.

The other boy (in the photo Sylvie posted on FB) was wearing it in July as well (Bastille Day parade). So it must be a special summer scarf.

whistlingkettle · 06/12/2014 20:03

Im wondering if it has something to do with Ollie's Mr Fox which has featured a lot. When they checked into the hotel Sylvie was making a fuss of Ollie and his Mr Fox and I think her husband was watching. Later on Emily couldn't find it, could this have been taken from their room and used to lure Ollie away? Mr Fox features again in other episodes, so maybe it was put back in their room. Mmm I'm gripped by this show!

AuntieStella · 06/12/2014 20:10

Unless they've seriously fiddled with the timelines, I don't think he can have been used during the abduction itself. For we see Emily in the hotel room before she knows what's going on, and Fox is on the pillow of the truckle bed at the foot of the double. She is also seen clutching it at other points of the first night gone.

No idea what, if anything, could be the significance of Fox going briefly missing a bit later.

I was wondering if this thread needed to be filled up with posts of Baptiste?

Or perhaps people might like this one of Ziane instead?

StrychnineStew · 06/12/2014 20:19

Crikey

You don't have any Baptiste ones in that, err, style do you Stella?

AuntieStella · 06/12/2014 20:28

Try Google images for 'Tcheky Karyo naked' if you need a reason to fan yourself!

(I'll try and attach one, but for some reason the one I like isn't attaching properly).

Perhaps the boy in the window is actually James . He really jumps when Emily first runs up to him in the street.James is the 'cargo' that the romanians have been transporting from Eastern Europe.

TwiggyHeart · 07/12/2014 06:09

This has probably been mentioned already but could the scarf have been used as an identifier?, guess this would prove the family are involved if so.....still think it's really odd for a little boy to wear a scarf that's not wooly and worn in winter....

StrychnineStew · 07/12/2014 06:19

Except he wasn't wearing it when he went missing. Where was it then? At the hotel or with his swimming things? Had he been wearing it when he arrived at the pool?

AuntieStella · 07/12/2014 08:36

They had the scarf, which Ollie had been wearing that day, in a bag at the restaurant when Ollie started to pester for swimming. They went back to the hotel to change, and Ollie next seen in pool. He didn't have it round his neck when he entered the bar, but did have a bag over his shoulder.

If the boy at the window wasn't Ollie, then that's 2 missing children to be found. Though of course James was sent back to England (we saw Mark sending him off) so, if in the house, he was returned to his father rapidly and with no fuss. I don't think that scenario can work, unless Mark is the baddie and James the bait. But how could James then live with Emily and never say anything? He was 5+ and would remember.

TwiggyHeart · 07/12/2014 09:52

Maybe I'm over thinking the scarf but still think it's a bit odd. So many loose ends and only 2 hours....

AuntieStella · 07/12/2014 09:54

Only two hours indeed!

AuntieStella · 07/12/2014 10:48

I was wondering if this might be the right image with which to close the thread?

It's not terribly clear who it is from the pic itself, but I found it on a search for TK.
