The blue top on the pine unit was awful.

m angry with the BBC who in my eyes are mis-representing the Interior Design profession

How so? it doesn't pretend to represent a profession of any kind.
I'm insulted by the implication that viewers are unaware that professional interior design is less about structure, space and style rather than mere colours and cushions, especially when s.one knows the qualifications of thread contributors.

Occasionally I'm impressed, like last night's winner for the artist sister. Mostly I like to see how three identical/near identical homes vary from the owner perspective and the contestants' ideas.

It's clearly a bit of a froth programme for amateurs and anyone who doesn't understand that needs to re-engage their brain. It's also very clear that a majority of the contestants are kidding themselves, so now they know.
I didn't think much of anything tonight, it was a bleak view.

SugarPlump · 06/11/2014 21:30

It wasn't a great episode tonight was it I don't think one room really sparked a reaction apart from well that's dull, or thsts home decoration.

FriendofDorothy · 06/11/2014 21:35

I thought all the rooms were shocking today.

FunkyBoldRibena · 06/11/2014 22:34

I was crying at the dip dye tonight. Looking like they had soaked up rancid milk.

ppeatfruit · 07/11/2014 09:25

I agree about last night's why were those people chosen fgs.?

  1. The original house ages and cottaginess were not respected (apart from the art deco bloke who o.d'd on mdf).
  1. The woman was ok, at least SOME of her design had a cottagey feel to it (that bright blue was not right though). The dyeing worked on the cushions but not on the curtains.
  1. I also dislike the mdf which was ok when used by the guy in Brixham.
SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 07/11/2014 12:03

I've just caught up on last night's show. My god, all three were atrocious.

carlajean · 07/11/2014 18:36

I quite liked the dying that the woman did, but wish somebody would have pointed out that the color will fade dramatically, and quickly

Lunaballoon · 07/11/2014 18:57

I love this programme. Reminds me of Changing Rooms back in the 90s but better! The homeowners always seem pleased though I do wonder how long they keep some of the wackier schemes.

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2014 10:08

I do hope that woman gets better!!!!!Grin carlajean Grin

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2014 10:11

Maybe it's the editing but it was very nice to see the 'dyeing' woman actually thank her helper\builder. You're very dependent on your builders so have to treat them well if you want to succeed.

FunkyBoldRibena · 08/11/2014 10:42

ppeat - yes it was a first for me. I quite liked her but she needs to be a textiles designer - she's on the wrong reality TV programme...

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/11/2014 10:45

Did she win? Even though her 'upcycle' came off the ceiling in the female judge's hand?!

Kundry · 08/11/2014 10:51

No she didn't.

For all her passion and energy spent dyeing stuff, I thought she made the room look like a student house. Slightly drab, dodgy furniture covered in cheap tie-died throws to cover up the stains type thing. That's not a look I'd ever want to replicate Grin

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/11/2014 10:56

I agree Kundry, it was vile and as for the cobalt blue 'highlights' everywhere. Totally wrong.

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2014 11:50

No she didn't win and I don't reckon any one of them should've won fgs.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/11/2014 12:18

No, I agree, they were all terrible this time. Usually one is half decent but they were all clueless and it showed in the end results.

ppeatfruit · 08/11/2014 13:15

Agree Kundry what was she thinking with that blueish blanket on the sofa? dsis and I could've done better TBH

Cocolepew · 11/11/2014 19:09

I hate industrial, loads of people did it in the last series.

OP posts:
SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 11/11/2014 19:10

Hmm, his scheme looks chilly. Though he's the one who seems to have the most design nous

BOFster · 11/11/2014 19:18

This wallpaper woman is a hoot- I have a horrible feelings her stuff is going to come off a bit like those over-enthusiastic Facebook crafters.

BOFster · 11/11/2014 19:22

The young fella is totally teal-tastically triangular...

Cocolepew · 11/11/2014 19:23

Why would you try something for the first time in a competition on tv?

OP posts:
BOFster · 11/11/2014 19:23

Somebody come and join me in mocking this!

BOFster · 11/11/2014 19:23

Ah, there you are! Grin
