Were you the builder who was easy on the eye

Love this show. I think the guy who won the beach but was my favourite so far. I'd love for someone to come and make over one of my rooms.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 04/11/2014 19:48

I reckon Japanese room guy has this in the bag.

DevilishIndeed · 04/11/2014 19:53

Well I know it won't be hair scarf woman!! Faux fan and ducks on the screen! The Japanese room guy does seem very precise but the judges were worried he wasn't taking any risks ie using the ladies own art is just lucky

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 04/11/2014 19:56

No way! Faux fan girl?! Dammit I can not predict this at all!

DevilishIndeed · 04/11/2014 20:10

Sorry I was a bit behind as I paused it to make a cup of tea and put the baby to bed! I know I didn't see that coming either! To be honest they all had issues I thought!

R4roger · 04/11/2014 22:47

they are so picky arent they ? the judges.
surprised they chose the colonial themed room over the yellow though. particularly as the yellow room lady had asked for a boutique style, assuming that means like a hotel Confused and then they criticize it for being like a hotel

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2014 09:23

And the faux fan had a waste bin hanging off it WEEIIIRRD !!!! It 'd knocked the man judges' head if he'd walked under it. How come she won?

R4roger · 05/11/2014 09:50

I have no idea Shock

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2014 10:12

I think the female judge is a bit Hmm "They must be ORIGINAL" Why? Surely the clients are more important than a design that no one else has ever seen . I said to dh that a pile of poo in the middle of the room would be original but would anyone actually enjoy living with it? Grin

icklekid · 05/11/2014 10:57

Why didn't we see clients reaction to the winners? They must have hated it!!!

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2014 11:05

I agree about the gold room R4roger it was what was asked for FGS. Better than the 'grey' that all designers love ATM until they go on to the next fad of course!!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 05/11/2014 19:12

Hate the idea of this neon and grey scheme. Not really what the client wanted at all and looks like it could verge on the very tacky.

Chickengirl · 05/11/2014 19:55

No shortage of grey tonight! And all in one room - did not like that at all. Loved the art room though.

BOFster · 05/11/2014 19:56

Yay, the right person won tonight. That room was in a different league to the others.

insancerre · 05/11/2014 20:01

Loved the winning room tonight

Kundry · 05/11/2014 20:05

Was worried when the judges liked the attack of the grey room. Looked cheap, nasty and depressing. Can't wait for grey to go out of fashion.

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2014 20:08

Yes agree, you could tell the guy was brilliant from the start. The judges are odd though they said they didn't want cliched seaside type rooms and then gave them a lobster basket to upcycle Confused DUH!!!!

ihatethecold · 05/11/2014 20:09

The artist room was fantastic.
I'm so glad he won.
The other rooms were hideous.

Cocolepew · 05/11/2014 20:26

Definitely the best won tonight, he did so much more than the other 2, really lovely. Grey room was horrible, really bad finish on everything as well.

Why does everything have to be distressed?

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 05/11/2014 20:33

Yes Cocolepew I hated the grey too it looked so dead (surprised the client liked it ) I bet she won't like living with it Grin.

IIWM I'd have it repainted fast!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 05/11/2014 20:50

ppeat, YY to the seaside cliches, yet they were crapping on about the importance of sticking with the general harbour side theme and colours greys/blues/greens/whites when they did that little walk around vignette.

The finished artist's garret was lovely and very practical. The other two just seemed painfully amateurish. My initial suspicions re the coral & grey bordello came true, too.

Cocolepew · 05/11/2014 22:31

The problem with some of the contestants is that they have decorated their home and decided it puts them a cut above the rest of us who, well, decorate our homes Confused.
Maybe they think everyone else is sitting in bare rooms.

OP posts:
Cocolepew · 05/11/2014 22:32

I bet they did ppeat! I was considering painting my hotpress door grey.
I'm not now Grin

Goodness.. I cannot believe there are so many people who actually seem to like this utter drivel. Do any of you have a damned clue what Interior design is? This is Interior decoration - at its absolute worst. It has no integrity- no intelligence and is fronted by a so called 'Architectural historian ' who clearly would rather get his ugly mug on the telly at any cost - including his own credibility. Its a disgrace. I speak as a Professional Interior designer who's being at this lark for 27 years. Trust me its not about cushions and colours... thats about .05 % of what Interior design is about. Come on ladies- get educated.

R4roger · 06/11/2014 06:49

did we say we like it Sweb, get educated yourself and read the thread, most of it is criticism of the show, the designers and the judges.
