Vincent has an impressive Adam's apple so don't think he was ever female.

DeadCert · 19/11/2014 21:05

Brilliant thread. So, my question is, who is Bapitiste's wife talking about? Who turned up at their house?

EmilyGilmore · 19/11/2014 21:08

Their daughter probably. They referred up her several times last night.

edamsavestheday · 19/11/2014 21:15

I think Emily'd right, Baptiste and his wife were discussing their own daughter who is an addict.

DeadCert · 19/11/2014 21:17

Of course.

Just caught up.

Loving all the ideas on this thread. I'm so used to watching on Sky+ or Netflix that waiting A Whole Week for the next episode is toooooo long! Grin

Me too JKS,
I'm not used to having to wait a whole week to watch something either. I think viewing habits have changed (because of Sky and Netflix) - having to wait a whole week between episodes seems a bit old fashioned now.

I've just sat and watched the first 3 eos and didn't see bourg saying the guilt cancer thing???

Ian. Hmm. Don't think he is Vincent dad as when v turned up at the building site house, Ian said he would deny ever having met him. I think it would be odd to use 'met' with members of family.

But.... I think the guilt bit might be that Ian did not protect the girl from Vincent? ?? If one is his step child and the other his bio child and they were together in a blended family.

Chefpepperjack · 19/11/2014 21:50

In 2006 the family in the house were on holiday
It was 4 years ago, they had some building work done, so threw some stuff out, that's when the scarf went to the charity shop.

Flibbertyjibbet · 19/11/2014 21:51

Emily looks fine in 2014. But odd in 2009. The others work quite well in either year but Emily looks strangely older in 2014.

Chefpepperjack · 19/11/2014 21:54

I've just watched all 4 episodes, don't know what to do now!
The guilt/cancer comment is in ep 4

My burning question is why did the Chinese family buy the yellow scarf with initials on? It would be a hell of a coincidence if that kid had the same initials!

FallonColby · 19/11/2014 22:06

I don't think Tony killed Ian but he probably does expose him for what he really is in the next episode and as a result goes on the run or commits suicide. I think Vincent is happy Ian is missing is it means the last link to his former life is gone and he can feel some sense of freedom. They will follow up the Romanian gang but I think it will come back to Mark (the liasion officer) and Greg from the hospice and Emily. Mark and Greg definitely exchanged a look as if to say they had history. Emily has always seemed to quick to dismiss any leads in 2006 and today.

Flibbertyjibbet · 19/11/2014 22:07

Not really. It was in the charity shop where loads of people could have seen it before being bought by someone with the same initials.

Itsfab · 19/11/2014 22:14

I am just really confused. Who is a baddie, who is a goodie. I am completely lost.

seagull70 · 19/11/2014 22:21

My money's on Mark too but I'm crap at keeping up with plot lines so I'll wait until all is revealed in the last episode and think

"Yeah, knew that" Grin

edamsavestheday · 19/11/2014 22:55

Grin Seagull, I'm more likely to think ooh, I never saw that coming!

ProfYaffle · 20/11/2014 06:44

As a pp said, the Bourg made the guilt comment when he was standing in the water fishing.

SomethingFunny · 20/11/2014 07:54

Could the mum have something to do with it??

Maybe she already knew Mark. Maybe it was all a set up somehow which would explain why she doesn't seem to care that much...?

susiedaisy · 20/11/2014 08:06

Can I ask who is the female school teacher in the present day?? Is it the drug addict that baptiste locked in the bathroom in the past??

OttiliaVonBCup · 20/11/2014 08:15

I think the mother cares, at least the character is supposed to care, it's the actress that's wooden and can't quite convey it.

NeitherHereOrThere · 20/11/2014 08:16

susie - yes and her boyfriend was the cop who infiltrated the gang and got killed when found out.

NeitherHereOrThere · 20/11/2014 08:17

Re the Mum - think she had far too much botox hence the rubbish acting.

susiedaisy · 20/11/2014 08:47

Thanks neitherSmile

FallonColby · 20/11/2014 09:16

Something that's what I'm thinking too. The car breakdown wasn't just bad luck, I think it was all planned in advance and not a random abduction.

SomethingFunny · 20/11/2014 10:12

I don't think she does care though- throwing out the fox?? That is not the act of someone who the toy is their last link to their son.

When the journalist spoke to her, did he say he knew what she and Tony did? Or could his words mean what she and Mark did? I can't remember the exact words.

Just speculating. Would make sense as to how the child disappeared so quickly and quietly at the pool if he was with his mother.

Maybe??
