Anyone watching , so far quite tense especially the music

OP posts:

I think that Ian and his wife have Ollie. My theory is that they were trying to pay for a child to to replace their own child, but something went wrong and Ollie was taken. I think that Ian disappeared with his wife and Ollie

Ooh that's good!

CrapBag · 19/11/2014 15:15

I am so gripped. Can't wait for the next episode. I am stupidly hoping they find Ollie although won't be surprised if they don't.

I couldn't watch the bit again where someone took Ollie away from the window. Once I realised it looked like DS last week, I can't watch it again. DH won't even stay in the room whilst I am watching it.

I thought the car/garage may be significant last night when Emily went back to get it. I didn't twig that Vincent may be Ian's son. Good call. I just thought they were part of a paedophile ring. Ian is quite friendly with the mayor, I wonder if he is involve in the ring/trafficking in any way?

Really don't like Mark and why the hell would that sleazy journalist keep quiet if he knew what had happened to Ollie? That annoyed me.

CrapBag · 19/11/2014 15:18

ohmygrood great theory! Would fit with building work done at that house where Ollie was taken too. I had previously though about Ian's construction firm and the building work in that house. He would have known it was empty and safe to hide him there.

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 15:27

I agree that it seems likely that Vincent is related to Ian. He's very firm about heading James Nesbitt's character (can't remember his name!) away from considering him as a suspect. They are definitely linked.

When Vincent found out that Ian had gone missing (presumed dead) he seemed very happy.
So is he happy because Ian is actually missing(dead) or is he happy because Ian has achieved the status of missing (dead) by choice.

ProfYaffle · 19/11/2014 15:52

I like the idea of Ian and his wife having Ollie. 'The Missing' does imply plural doesn't it?

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2014 16:00

Can't remember who said it b (maybe the journalist who I hate!) said to Emily "Don't forget, I know what you dd. What you both did". Could that be to do with the disappearance of Ian?

I am very gripped

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/11/2014 16:05

Don't think they are related, Ian and Vincent.
Ian told Vincent the quilt cancer anecdote, but no don't think the are related.
Vincent was very happily relieved when he realised Ian is presumed dead.

There was something else, but it slipped my mind now..
Blush

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2014 16:08

He didn't seem releived to me. Surprised yes!

noddyholder · 19/11/2014 16:44

They both said that phrase but I don't think he is his son. He said A friend told him his father had said it on his deathbed not his actual father iirc

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/11/2014 16:51

I think what happened is that Tony thought it was Ian, so he did something to him but then could not find Ollie and when the scarf photos appeared he went back to France to try again and then the Romanian connection became clearer.

And I think Julien suspects that too.

The car breaking down was very dodgy, I thought.
Or was it just bad luck?

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 16:57

Something happened in 2009. It keeps being mentioned.
Ian has been missing for 8 years so that must be soon after Ollie went missing. I think he'll disappear soon.

edamsavestheday · 19/11/2014 17:07

love all these theories, am on tenterhooks until the next episode. Love the attention to detail, like the stains on the clothes of the drug addict-turned-teacher that Baptiste rescues. A lot of TV drama shows remarkably well turned out addicts or people in crisis.

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 17:09

Baptiste is so lovely.

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/11/2014 17:09

So Ollie disappeared in 2006, something happened in 2009.
It's 2014 now, and Ian went missing in eight years ago, 2008, right?

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 17:09

I want them to do a Baptiste spin off show!

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2014 17:10

I reconise the actor playing Baptiste - what's he been in before?

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 17:10

8 years ago is 2006 isn't it- same as Ollie.

Celticlass2 · 19/11/2014 17:11

Well I'm gripped. Watched it today. want to see the next episode NOW..

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/11/2014 17:11

Yes.
It is.

Can't count for toffee.

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 17:17

They must have ruled Ian out as a suspect as they haven't mentioned him at all in the present except when Vincent went to find him.
Vincent must have gone to prison around the time he disappeared otherwise he should have known about it.

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/11/2014 17:18

Why was Vincent in the UK?

Did I miss that?

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 17:19

Yes why was he? Was he in a UK prison?

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2014 17:22

ohmygod yes that's a good point. Ian not mentioned at all in present day, apart from by Vincent

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2014 17:22

Wasn't the French cop in a UK prison too?

Ohmygrood · 19/11/2014 17:23

I want to go back and watch it all again now for clues!
