OP posts:

Do you think we will find out? I thought they might make progress and then come to a dead end, with suspicion hanging over lots of people and everyone having to get used to that again.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/11/2014 16:45

Yes,Olli-EH-very odd,I noticed that too!

noddyholder · 12/11/2014 16:50

I think the mum knows and think the 2 boys are genetically brothers via IVF or something Don't think James nesbitt is his dad at all

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 16:52

God, I hope they resolve it properly. I hate it when you don't get proper closure at the end of a series.

NannyHat · 12/11/2014 16:53

When the wife's dad was dying he called her stepson ollie and she told him it wasn't ollie, tho could it actually be ollie? A far fetched plan to get tony out of her life?

Bakeoffcakes · 12/11/2014 16:56

When the mum cuddled her step son last week- they looked so similar, it was astonishing, so I think you might be onto something there Noddy.

paddlenorapaddle · 12/11/2014 16:57

Defo think the painter man Ian is peodo but I think the copper liaison man is up to no good

And what's with the reporter I know what happened to him ?

BOFster · 12/11/2014 17:01

I don't think the boys are related- they just happen to be around the same age. I agree that the liaison officer is dodgy as fuck though. The rich builder boss is involved in some kind of paedophile ring, I think, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Mayor has some knowledge of it.

NannyHat · 12/11/2014 17:02

Also who's harassing baptistes wife? They talked about a "she" and the mum was in France to see tony.

Bakeoffcakes · 12/11/2014 17:04

Where's Miss Marple when you need her?

Anyway it does remind me of Broadchurch in that there are so many suspects and it's really very gripping.

NannyHat · 12/11/2014 17:05

Maybe builder bloke, mayor and his brother the hotelier are involved in a peadophile ring, but it's not what happened to ollie, that it's closer to home.

noddyholder · 12/11/2014 17:15

I think the bloke at the hospice is Ollies dad.

SomethingFunny · 12/11/2014 17:18

I agree with what Profwaffle said (I think that was your name? Apologies if not, hard to remember after two pages!) about the liaison bloke (I love how no one can remember names either!!).

The retired copper keeps randomly telling him bits of information and then things happen- he was the only person he told about going to meet the informer, and then the informer gets killed. Although didn't the retired copper see who was driving the other car when he pulled up along side? It certainly looks like he could have done.

I think I'd enjoy the whole thing more if it was shorter and not a missing child, which is far too emotive and can't have a happy ending.

I suspect everyone, except for Tony and the retired copper.

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 17:20

ProfWaffle!!!! Waffle???? Shock

(Grin)

SolomanDaisy · 12/11/2014 17:23

It was weird that the liaison officer had his son with him in France at the start. What's happening to him while he works? And why does the journalist think he knows what happened to Ollie?

BitchPeas · 12/11/2014 17:24

I haven't read the thread, and am very tired so could be wrong, but I have just watched this weeks on catch up and is the mums new husband the English police liaison officer?? They look so similar but I can't remember anyone's name so can't work it out.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned on here, can't find my glasses so reading is blurred!

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 17:24

Dh and I said that was odd, especially given the nature of the case. The last person you'd bring along would be your same aged son.

SomethingFunny · 12/11/2014 17:25

Whoops sorry!

I got most of the letters right though and you can see from my post how bad I am at remembering names. ;)

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 17:25

There's also something slightly unreal and Stepfordish about the liaison officer's son as a 13 year old. Something's not right there but can't put my finger on it.

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 17:26

I'm probably proving you right on this thread though!

amyhamster · 12/11/2014 17:26

oh I'm loving this thread
so many ideas I'd never ever thought of !
I must confess I'm completely confused!!

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 17:28

bitchpeas yes, the liason officer is the Mum's new husband to be. That's why they look so similar! Grin

pinkfrocks · 12/11/2014 17:30

The man who was in the hospice is the missing boy's grandad-his mum's dad. No?

I found last night very slow and boring tbh.

I don't like all the new characters who keep popping up for a few scenes and making it look complicated. It's too disjointed for my liking.

And I want to know if his mum is wearing a wig now (I'd say yes) or her short hair '8 years ago' was a wig.

BOFster · 12/11/2014 17:40

I wonder if Jean Baptiste's wife is getting hate mail from Olly's mum? She could be more unbalanced than she lets on.

BOFster · 12/11/2014 17:41

I think the hair eight years ago is a wig, purely because I can't see any contemporary actress choosing that hairstyle Grin.
