Corrie thread - still no sign of Cilla or Fat Brenda but Kim Tate on the horizon

Here we are again - a brand new thread for more Corrie ramblings.

Can't believe Cilla still hadn't turned up by the end of the last thread.

Still hoping for an enormous cast-cull. Hoping for a bomb / gas explosion / serial killer / all of the previous.

Yes the Steve thing has been brewing for a while I think, the 40th birthday when he didn't want to come to his own party, the obsession over the airport runs, little comments here and there about not having achieved anything with his life etc.

Kylie falling back in with her old crew at the scummy pub is so bad it's kind of funny Grin and love how they are all just there waiting for her whenever she shows up there, do they just spend all day every day in that pub?

I think everyone sort of leans on Steve and no one is really there for him, Michelle is a complete waste of space, she only seems to come into her own when Carla needs a shoulder to cry on.

I mean he's not generally a hypochondriac is he?

I don't think they have any chemistry.

Hi all corrie fans - I have heard from a that Jim McDonald is going to punch Tony's lights in. Obviously not possible right now - but may be true?

I too feel a bit sorry for Steve - he should have stuck with Beccy - she seemed to have a lot more oomph about her than Michelle does..

I think the Steve story has been a good slow build up, like it when they do that. The bit in the Docs was very real.

I don't think Michelle and Steve work any more but I guess that could be because of his depression and her not understanding. I loved Steve with Karen best, they were a fab couple. Becky never did it for me.

Remind me where did Leanne's step mum go? Is she Cilla? I get all the gobby ones mixed up.

Leanne's stepmum was Janice. Not sure where she went, maybe to stay with Toyah? There was that whole thing with the binman, err Confused

Cilla is Chesney and Fiz's mum.

Agree re Steve in docs, I thought that was well done. I agreed re build up. As he started to talk, I was thinking, yes, he has had so much to deal with, it was very realistic. I felt so sorry for him, while he was waiting to give evidence, and when he finally took the stand. Very well portrayed, huge credit to the actor.
I'm a big fan of Steve's. Michelle annoys me greatly. I wish he could have a nice partner/ wife.

Steve and Karen were brilliant together, so much more believable than either him and Becky or him and Michelle.

I love Steve. I love seeing my Steve fridge magnet every morning too.

I love Steve! I think he has become the mainstay of the Street, I really like that he runs the Rovers ( or so he said in court).

You know I used to think I was the only weirdo who fancied Steve McDonald until I found this thread. I've always fancied him since he came into it as a teenager.

Although his haircuts and dress sense are awful these days.

He's a bit of a sod really though, he's been unfaithful loads and is always telling lies. Still and very funny and likeable character though.

I was a bit thrown recently when I realised Steve was the licensee because I am sure that the last time he owned the pub Liz was licensee as Steve had a criminal record. I may invest too much time in thinking about this.

Cilla and Janice are very similar. Les Battersby clearly had a type other than his slip up with St Ella.

And I may have just Googled It and discovered the answer. He can now be licensee as his criminal record has lapsed. Not sleeping has its advantages.

Good episode tonight. No ridiculous stories such as turning the cafe into a library, and some of the really strong characters centre stage.
Come on Corrie, we need a lot more episodes like that.

Yes I agree. I actually watched it tonight instead of just listening while doing something else! Good old Carla. She is going to put two and two together as well as Tracey I think.

Also, do we think one of those boys that Anna saw off is going to be the father of Fay's child? I can't think of another reason for them otherwise.
