I like Kay Mellor and it has a great cast. Anyone else giving it a go?

She's only 47! Perfectly possible to be pregnant with the much younger dude. Unfortunately she's been blessed with menopausal hair like me self.

10 minutes in and depressed!

What utter patronising cliched 'up north is grim' shit.

Right down to the girl having pies and chips for dinner.

I find it insulting that the BBC don't get how frikkin' dire and stereotyped it is. Can't believe I wasted an hour of my life on that.

Loved this programme too.

Yes, Will Mellor was surprisingly good.

In fact, ALL the acting was good, looking forward to next week!

What on earth is going to happen to,the poor teenage mum???

The teen mum will be adopted/ fostered by the teacher lady and they'll all live happily ever after , after a few episodes of termoil.

Depressing as hell.
And the bank robbery is beyond stupid. Even somebody desperate would know that they were going to show up on cctv.

I enjoyed this, but I did think keeping redundancy secret for 5 months really wouldn't have been possible - his wife surely would have spoken to someone local in that time who would have asked how they were coping following the local printers making all those redundancies! They must have had friends/acquaintenances who'd have been involved/known about it. Maybe 2 months max would have been more believable.

Also, given her history of years of trying for a baby, she'd have attended every scan/check going, so how could twins have been missed at the 20wk scan? Confused.

Apart from those suspensions of disbelief, I'm looking forward to next week.

I really don't think you can analyse the bank robbery with hindsight. Yes, it was stupid, but the man was out of his head with having lost yet another chance at a job, the realisation that his wife had found out, the stress of pestering children and the realisation that he couldn't even pay for their pizzas. It's accountable on the basis that in that sort of situation someone can literally have a moment of utter madness.

They accounted for her not having scans because of her superstition arising from having lost the previous baby just after a scan.

I'm still looking forward to watching it next week.
I just hope it isn't ALL doom and gloom Sad

I'm just hoping for an uplifting ending to the series!

Watched it tonight on catch up.

I thought it was very depressing.

Not sure we needed a car crash at the end on top of everything else!

Also the last bit, if you arrive home and a police car is outside the house where your mum and kids are you would presumably run, or waddle if carrying twins at top speed, you would not stop to debate at the top of the road with your partner!

Think I will watch next episode despite myself!

I quite enjoyed it. Really good cast and I've had a bit of a thing for Jonathon Kerrigan ever since he was in Heartbeat.

The one bit that confused me slightly - there's the lesbian couple, and the dark haired one had a son with the man years ago, and now she and Kim are a couple. Kim's expecting a baby with the same man, but are she and Neil having a bit of a thing as well?

I'm sure she referred to him as her partner as well... threesome?

It seems like it could be good, but all the stories together are too unrealistic.
