It was totally ridiculous. They wouldn't even know who the family was with the forgotten baby and he'd only been in the supermarket 5 minutes. Maybe a HV would pop round, not SS.
Hugh Grant doctor was odd, great decision to tell her while she's in the middle of labour! And there was not one member of staff who was actually working in that room - insurance anybody?? Surely they'd have just whisked her off for a section so soon after surgery. And I'm pretty sure he was just plain wrong to say she didn't have a choice. I think you can say "I want to see a different doctor" and they have to let you. And they wouldn't put the dad's name on the baby's name tag, only the mum's.
I think the dad of the artist guy probably had an affair with Rohanna which is why he's being so secretive and underhand about it.
I bet there will be a series 2. My predictions:
It will be about 9/10 months in the future because it works for all of the storylines.
Rosie is about to drop or has just given birth to new baby (because obv, she's so super fertile she gets pregnant after one shag twice) and 1yo to contend with. Jude will be all and trying to do his GCSEs. (I can see it's believable though - she doesn't want to go back to school, she's totally besotted with new baby who is so far apparently easy and she's probably thinking if she has 2 kids they'll give her her own council house especially if she'd have turned 16 by then). In fact she'll either be in a council flat or some kind of young mum's hostel because Susie succeeded in persuading her to leave when she found out she was pregnant again. And she'll be on the verge of a breakdown because coping with 2 babies at once isn't as easy and fun as she thought it would be and now she wants to go back to school.
Prison husband just out of jail, some kind of question mark over house. Not sure how mum is supposed to be fighting for it. Perhaps she'll be running a cupcake/"keep calm and carry on" shabby chic merchandise related business while her mum single handedly looks after the twins and two adopted kids, who are about to go off the rails due to absent dad and not being centre of attention because babies. Husband is all awkward and doesn't know how to fit into this new role. Maybe he becomes a stay at home dad and then ponders his masculinity and looks sad a lot.
Rohanna ends up bonding with the FIL because he encourages her secret drinking, fuelled by PND, and they rekindle their affair while she slips into alcoholism and keeps ignoring the baby.
Kim has hugely clingy separation anxiety riddled baby because she never let anybody else touch it in the first few months and is feeling all anxious about going back to work. Is still with Neil who is getting a bit fed up and feels pushed out and wants to tell her to get a grip. Kim will end up feeling sorry for Rosie and tutoring her one to one but they can't study because she's got 2 babies screaming at her all the time. Kim is worried for the babies' health/safety because Rosie obv isn't coping but is too nice to call SS and instead probably gets herself too overinvolved.
Susie is dating but is generally exasperated with going between Rosie's house and trying to work and yelling at Jude at the same time. Jude is failing at his GCSEs but also dating somebody new and ignoring Rosie a bit and Rosie is sad. Kim and Susie bump into each other at Rosie's house and have huge argument and then mad sex on the kitchen table. (OK, maybe not. Not sure BBC is quite brave enough to include lesbian sex in this kind of drama yet.)
Hugh Grant doctor continues to be aloof, selfish, clueless and empathy-less. Giant eyelash woman bats giant eyelashes at him and ignores this while waxing lyrical about what a wonderful not-husband he is. He makes excuses as to why he can't track down this woman but she will conveniently turn up.
Jasmin will have some kind of post-pregnancy problems like SPD which continues after the birth and she will continue to moan about how pregnancy has wrecked her body and it was supposed to end when the baby came out. Her/her husband's family will be pressuring her to have lots more babies (a boy this time) and she'll be saying no way, not ever.
What do you think?
