The New Doctor?

Or just the trailer for the 50th anniversary episode?

Or something else entirely?

Along - it IS the announcement show - well done for having tickets!!!

Young - please come back to the thread!!! My post sounds way more brusque than was meant - in fact I was laughing at the thought that the WHO team probably would think it bloody hilarious to put Sophie in the role due to the sheer fact that it would make the brains of numerous Whovians explode Grin
Same with Tom Ellis, actually - because it could be read that Martha worked with the Doctor to save the Doctor from the Master and then when she had saved the Doctor from the Master she left the Doctor for the Doctor Grin

But then this is the show where a Doctor in RL is married to his own daughter, who is also the RL daughter of a Doctor. Gotta love it.

Except, they never explained why she left her fiance the doctor to marry Mickey of all people!

So maybe it was because her fiance the doctor was actually The Doctor?

Congratulations, Rusty! Have a Wine

Incidentally, given the -7 years model of forecasting the next doctor that gives us another reading on the cradle we saw in AGMGTW - rather than being the cradle used by children of River & the Doctor or something like that, it was the cradle the Doctor was in during his 14th incarnation Wink

teejwood · 02/08/2013 17:33

that should have read "your -7 years model"...

Report
teejwood · 02/08/2013 17:35

and that should have read 15th incarnation

Thanks to Rusty!

I have a feeling whatever people are speculating now, Moffet is going to spring someone on us that we're never going to guess. I'm just hoping it'll be a nice surprise, although I don't think there's been a Doctor that I've actively disliked after watching a few episodes (and I've been watching since Pertwee) I warmed to Matt Smith really quickly and I was very dubious about him, although that was mainly due to my overwhelming love for DT!

Odds still shortening on Andrew Scott.
Daniel Rigby now at evens with some bookies.

MrsD - the thing is we know that Moffat lies about everything. But he knows we know that, so we can't rule out the possibility that he is double-bluffing us on all sorts of things Confused

Richard Doyle was mentioned as a likely Dr on Digital Spy a few weeks back. Is he a possibility??

Loving the speculation on this thread!

Can I just gloat throw in here that this weekend I'm seeing John Sim on stage and later in the year seeing, in the space of 48 hours, David Tennant and Ben Wishaw (oh and Rupert Grint but I've never been a HP fan). Grin

People in RL are getting bored of me going on about it so I'm going to bore you lot instead Grin

Oh Mavis was thinking about Mojo myself. Enjoy The Hothouse!

Sunny, Richard Coyle gets bandied about because he worked with the Moff on Coupling. I think he's a good actor and he can do dark as well as dippy, but not sure about him having the marketability for the role in this day and age iykwim.

Do we think there's anything in the fact they are doing this programme on Sunday as a simulcast on BBC America? As in, it's someone American audiences will recognise? Or do we think it's just to try and maintain the US hype from Comic Con and justify an actor or actress that American audiences wouldn't necessarily recognise?

Also - this is funny Grin

Grin teej at the link!

Will enjoy The Hothouse - last night of the run so should be good. Ridiculously excited by Richard II with the divine DT and now Le Wishaw as well.

I might expire at the end of it all!

i am popping in some general DW stuff now...

...if clara is fractured across all time to save the doctor...& she knows that river is his wife, there is nothing to stop her intervening in the library, sitting in the bad chair and connecting the wires that blew up river... so isnt uploaded to the library computer & lives! yay!

Report
ceebeegeebies · 02/08/2013 19:18

Clearly whoever it is needs to.have chemistry with Clara so that must be factored in.

I had never realised that the BT bloke was Eric Morecambe.,he was SO good in that. He would be good.

If it was Tom Ellis, would that be the end of Miranda or could he do both?

the ones that came to my mind were:

Lee Mead -dont know why.

Alexander Siddig - yes a star trek actor but its been a long time and would appeal to kids?

or one of the Horrible History guys. theyd ALL be perfect.
