The New Doctor?

Or just the trailer for the 50th anniversary episode?

Or something else entirely?

Headfirst you're absolutely right, i's not always about sex but I can still think he is incredibly shaggable can't I??
Gove me a man with a face that has lived over a pretty boy any day Wink

HeadfirstForHalos · 05/08/2013 00:38

Course you can Flobbadobs Grin

I lusted after Tennant myself and was gutted when he left. Matt Smith is not my type at all but I have still enjoyed his portrayal as the Doctor. I think my main issue is people thinking the show isruined because they don't fancy the lead Shock

I think Capaldi is an attractive man and seems nice, don't know if he's my type yet as I've not really seen him in anything (I'm more attracted to personality traits), but it doesn't matter either way for me, he just seems right for the part :)

Flobbadobs · 05/08/2013 00:42

Have to say that the fact I would and you wouldn't need to twist my arm is secondary to the fact he is an incredible actor Grin
Tbh if they had gone for another young one I think it would have been the last incarnation. They needed an established actor to bring people back. I enjoyed Matt Smith but he was a marmite Doctor really I think, PC is perfect and the same age as William Hartnell was.

Peter Capaldi is eminently shagworthy!

Far more so than Matt Smith or saint's preserve us David Tenant!

Bogeyface · 05/08/2013 01:34

Nothing to do with his age, PC is not at all shagworthy! He looks like the sort of person that if you shared a bed with him and woke up at 3 am, he would be staring at you :o

Pachacuti · 05/08/2013 01:38

That's not what he'd be doing at 3am if I shared a bed with him, Bogeyface... Grin

I'm afraid my DD2(12) is quite capable of reducing everything to sex. It's fun (like a toddler using rude words), it's a bit naughty.

Also she's at an age when parents (and people their age or older) are not cool.

I want to hear DD1(15)'s response. She'll see that Cara can be friends with, be fascinated by someone she probably doesn't fancy.

cleopatrasasp · 05/08/2013 02:41

I personally think he's gorgeous and a brilliant actor - what's not to like?

expatinscotland · 05/08/2013 03:54

If he is allowed to speak in his own voice, not like that pathetic sell-out Tennant, putting on another accent. Loser. Yuk. In real life he speaks like some creature at Gilmour Street Station, wanting a scratch.

But he is even more pathetic than the lowest minger in need of a scratch at Gilmour Street Station. Eccleston refused hire if he could not speak in his own voice, and its Manc accent. This role does not require it.

Tennant did elsewise. As if the voices of our children are something less, with their Scottish accents? Something to be put off and faked, for a contract with the BBC when Eccleston stood up to them? LOSER. He is a sellout bastard. And I could act his sorry arse into nothing.

This Peter speaks with his voice or both he and the BBC are worthless shites, and he is just another sorry bitch.

SoupDragon · 05/08/2013 07:26

Was he putting on an accent on the live show then? He didn't sound very Scottish.

xigris · 05/08/2013 08:03

I w

xigris · 05/08/2013 08:05

Arse! Posted too soon. I would totally do Peter Capaldi. I'm delighted that he's the new Doctor. Grin

Orianne · 05/08/2013 08:26

He did sound Scottish

MsJupiterJones · 05/08/2013 08:39

Did people fancy Matt Smith then?

dexter73 · 05/08/2013 08:41

Apparently so MsJupiterJones. I just found him irritating.

mrsjay · 05/08/2013 09:00

say what you feel Expat dont hold back now Grin

I am so late to this my internet was down last night I was a bit like Shock then Confused then Smile about the whole reveal the other day I did say no he is too old but people moaned Matt smith was too young when he started, I think P C will put a great slant on the Doctor and a bit more mature as tbh the last series was a bit sarah jane adventures,

I know he was the favourite but i really didnt think it was going to be him at all

mrsjay · 05/08/2013 09:01

Was he putting on an accent on the live show then? He didn't sound very Scottish.

he didnt did he

Peetle · 05/08/2013 09:02

Mr Capaldi is in that dreadful film "World War Z", playing a WHO Doctor. Spooky...

ZolaBuddleia · 05/08/2013 09:05

David Tennant often acts without a Scottish accent, as far as I know Peter Capaldi never does. I doubt it's an attempt at a political statement either way.

mrsjay · 05/08/2013 09:06

the clips on now on Breakfast soupdragon he does sound scottish that is his normal drama school scottish accent

mrsjay · 05/08/2013 09:07

David Tennants scottish accent isn't even his real accent he says he is from glasgow he isn't

GlaikitFizzog · 05/08/2013 09:21

DT is from Bathgate.

And PC is most definitely Scottish. And not John Hannah as thought by my mother bless her!

mrsjay · 05/08/2013 09:24

DT is from Bathgate.

John Hannah is scottish or did your mum think Pete was John Confused

Bogeyface · 05/08/2013 09:28

Why the angst about accents? Kenneth Brannagh is from Belfast ffs!
