The New Doctor?

Or just the trailer for the 50th anniversary episode?

Or something else entirely?

OP posts:
teejwood · 04/08/2013 15:02

Ejiofor as Blake?
Grin

teejwood · 04/08/2013 15:04

Thurlow - yes to juggling bathtime; the child needs to understand priorities and the importance of Who in the scheme of life from an early age Grin

TolliverGroat · 04/08/2013 15:08

teejwood, now we just need to persuade whoever's actually in charge of casting the thing (unless it's you, in which case that was easier than I'd anticipated).

Tee2072 · 04/08/2013 15:08

I am also considering changing bed time. Bad Tee.

Snapespeare · 04/08/2013 15:25

I would really like it to be Alan Cumming. (Please!)

IAmTheTwelfthDoctor · 04/08/2013 16:01

Only three hours to go...

LadyEatsCrispsALot · 04/08/2013 16:03

Excited!!! Yes I am....bet it's a dog or monkey Grin

LadyEatsCrispsALot · 04/08/2013 16:10

Daniel Rigby and Andrew Scott odds have improved.,..

LadyEatsCrispsALot · 04/08/2013 16:14

Any thoughts if Sam Troughton is a real contender....or too close as his Grandad was the doctor too?

FrankelInFoal · 04/08/2013 16:23

Aneurin Barnard (currently playing Richard in The White Queen) has seen a surge of support according to, cough, the DM.

MavisGrind · 04/08/2013 16:24

Sam Troughton might be a good 50th year choice, nice and neat. Not too famous either

IAmTheTwelfthDoctor · 04/08/2013 16:24

Sam Troughton is a gimmicky suggestion, I think, Lady.

IAmTheTwelfthDoctor · 04/08/2013 16:25

Ha! Cross-post... I think he'd be quite good, but I just think he's only being tipped for it because of who he is.

MavisGrind · 04/08/2013 16:29

One woman's neat casting is another ones gimmick Wink

Ach, who knows who it's going to be. Whoever it is tiger will be some delighted and some baffled. I don't really care as long as they sort the writing out - the last series was largely terrible.

LadyEatsCrispsALot · 04/08/2013 16:31

I did think it was a bit of a cheesy suggestion but the odds are good on Sky at the moment.
Time is slow....Aaaagghhhh!

johnworf · 04/08/2013 16:40

Love the idea of the guy who plays Richard III in The White Queen. I can see him as the Dr.

But like others have said previously, I think it'll be someone obscure (to me, a laywoman). I'd never heard of Matt Smith before he was cast.

Tee2072 · 04/08/2013 16:49

I would agree with that Mavis. I don't think Moffat has the chops to run the show. Too bad he doesn't agree!

FrankelInFoal · 04/08/2013 16:51

johnworf, I wouldn't call Aneurin Barnard a household name though, I don't recall seeing him in anything before The White Queen.

As I've already said, I highly doubt it will be anyone who has already played a leading role in a popular tv show/film.

AgnesBligg · 04/08/2013 17:02

I'd love Richard III for the doctor

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 04/08/2013 18:04

Has it been announced yet?

MostlyLovingLurchers · 04/08/2013 18:04

If Aneurin Barnard isn't going to be the Doctor, since there was some mention of the Blake's 7 remake, how about him as Avon? He reminds me of a young Paul Darrow who played him originally, and could muster the same air of brooding menace. I also have something of a completely inappropriate crush Blush.

FrankelInFoal · 04/08/2013 18:14

Programme starts at 7, presume announcement will be at 7.58! Grin

PresidentServalan · 04/08/2013 18:14

It's being simulcast to USA and Australia - I really hope Moffat doesn't let us down! I can't wait now - less than a hour to go! Patterson Joseph or Peter Capaldi please!!

JugglingFromHereToThere · 04/08/2013 18:16

I don't think it's going to be announced is it Psammead ? - just revealed (in live show ?) on from 7pm ?

I'm quite excited, and trying to enthuse DCs, who don't quite believe me I think.
But am sure we'll all be watching later Smile

FrankelInFoal · 04/08/2013 18:16

Oops, programme is only half an hour long, so announcement will be 7.28 Grin
