I thought it might be an idea to start a new thread for The Reichenbach Fall since The Hounds got its thread up to over 200 pages since last Sunday!

Non-spoilery vague preview description: "Sherlock and John lock horns with their old enemy in one final problem that tests loyalty and courage to their very limits. Sherlock must fight for his reputation, his sanity and his life. But is he all he claims to be?"

BBC link for The Reichenbach Fall

Take note of the later start time of 9pm. Get your deerstalkers and spiffy pocket magnifiers ready!

Plenty of people do think he's real - Abbey National's head office used to be at 219-229 Baker Street so they got any post addressed to 221B, including letters requesting Sherlock Holmes's help from all over the world (foreign police departments as well and random people!).

But of course you can be upset at a fictional character's demise.....I have cried in novels, haven't you? Death is death and it often reminds us of real life...the emotions can be similar, just not as long-lasting....

LetUsPrey · 15/01/2012 20:55

I'm updating my iPod so won't be posting during the programme, although don't know if many of you do that anyway.

Feel very slightly on edge.

BC is not just playing Smaug, he is also voicing The Necromancer in Rhe Hobbit. As part 1 is not due for release until the end of 2012, I imagine they'll be filming with part 2 until at least early/mid 2013 and then on to Star Trek which means no Sherlock till 2014 at the earliest [sobs]

Completely agree with the BC/Vulcan comment up thread, damn waste of cheekbones you could carve ham on otherwise Grin

I melted when I read an interview with him a few months ago where he talked about wanting children to be his greatest achievement and that his biggest regret was that he was not already a father [swoons]

HarrietJones · 15/01/2012 21:04

I've just sobbed at call the midwife , this better not be too stressful

"But of course you can be upset at a fictional character's demise."

Oh yes, but in this case-well, in the books anyway, he doesn´t die at the falls.

diddl · 15/01/2012 21:07

Forgot to put-so they´ll probably leave it open ended so that there can be another series?

thenightsky · 15/01/2012 21:16

Oooh... that music just now... Oh Sinner Man... who was singing it???

diddl · 15/01/2012 21:18

It´s a Nina Simone song, isn´t it?

thenightsky · 15/01/2012 21:21

ah yes... thought i knew that voice!

Raahh · 15/01/2012 21:21

Moriarty is coming across a bit too Hannibal Lector for me in this.

MollieO · 15/01/2012 21:57

Not enjoying this as much as last week's.

TartyMcFarty · 15/01/2012 22:01

This is brilliant!

TartyMcFarty · 15/01/2012 22:01

Difference of opinion, MollieO Grin

HarrietJones · 15/01/2012 22:05

Love the 'I'm on kids tv' after the comments of him looking like Antordec

MollieO · 15/01/2012 22:06

Makes it a bit more interesting that he is pretending to be an actor but it isn't at all scary this week.

MollieO · 15/01/2012 22:22

I'm bored now.

MollieO · 15/01/2012 22:23

He looks pretty dead to me. Sad

CaveMum · 15/01/2012 22:26

Molly is the key. She's done something for him. She must have [clutches at straws]

MollieO · 15/01/2012 22:27

I'm not sure Roxanne out of Casaulty is probably the best person to help Grin

Raahh · 15/01/2012 22:28

needanewname · 15/01/2012 22:29
