Posted on the X Factor thread, but it is so lovely, it deserves a thread of it's own.

And in case you are wondering who the singer is, and how Morrissey could have agreed to such a thing-

article here

nah dont believe a kid would ever do that Grin

Raahh · 11/11/2011 14:59

me neither, but it's so cuteGrin.

All the bits of being too excited and wishing the days away, reminds me of being a kid. Smile

It worked on me...sniff.

redlac · 11/11/2011 15:46

Awful cover version. Moz is obviously needing money for the his court case.

I do like how they have references to Se7en, The Shining and The Omen in the ad though - v. Sinister

And it cost £5million to make

here you can get some lovely Emile & Rose outfits for half the price. They come up big so 3-6 will still fit long after, unless your DD is especially huge.

They have other brands as well and loads of offers but I do heart E&R.

two4one · 11/11/2011 15:53

Er - ignore that, was for another thread!

talkingnonsense · 11/11/2011 15:56

Oh it was lovely!

SouthernandCross · 11/11/2011 15:57

Had me blubbing...was I the only one?

scrappydappydoo · 11/11/2011 16:00

I am not going to survive christmas tv with that on all the time...

ricecakesrule · 11/11/2011 16:04

Tears in my eyes, didn't see it coming! Think that's really lovely. Must be getting soppy, I blame this cold I've got.

SouthernandCross · 11/11/2011 16:07

Ricecakes I have a cold too. That's got to be it.

limitedperiodonly · 11/11/2011 16:09

The advert's okay. I hate that version of one of my favourite songs. Agree with redlac about Morrissey probably needing the money.

Off to look up the film references. With the sound turned down.

Morrissey gave permission, because he will make a fortune!! If he wrote it of course

don't really like the song, but love the advert and that little boy!
sniff sniff

Voidka · 11/11/2011 16:14

Oh its lovely, and really sweet.

I am very jealous that the parents dont get woken up until its light Envy

ricecakesrule · 11/11/2011 16:16

I loved that one they did with the girl in the red dress growing up to be an old lady as well. I'm clearly a sucker for John Lewis!

redlac · 11/11/2011 16:16

If he wrote ????? Of course he wrote it! He is the best songwriter since Lennon & McCartney - pity he has given the rights to one of his best songs to be sung by a fuckin awful singer

redlac · 11/11/2011 16:18

limitedperiodonly I got the Shining one and the Se7en one straight away but can't remember ever watching the omen so struggling with that one. I'm sure they didn't mean for those references but some smart Alec's on YouTube spotted them straight away

EnjoyResponsibly · 11/11/2011 16:19

Nice job JL, if for no other reason they haven't given the game away about Santa. And there's not a crap x-factor contestant in sight.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 11/11/2011 16:21

Hate the cover. Why couldn;t they just use the original? Sickly sweet

LowLevelWhiiingeing · 11/11/2011 16:23

OFGS people GET A GRIP!!

Hmm

crappy, twee, sentimental old TOSH.

Sparklingbrook · 11/11/2011 16:25

I have now seen it once but will unfortunately have to see it a bajillion times before Christmas.
It's ok. I only remember the song because i think it was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

limitedperiodonly · 11/11/2011 16:25

I didn't get any of them. And I've watched all those films several times. Give me a clue, please. Actually, just tell me.

ProfYaffle · 11/11/2011 16:30

Se7en? So he's giving his parents a severed head? Well that's just ruined it for me ....
