I like the way his clock reads 8am when he wakes up. As if!

The last two Christmas mornings we have had to wake our 2 boys (9 and 12) because DH and I couldn't wait any longer.

Actually, we had to wake ds and dd1 up last year!

There is something even more wonderful than receiving the perfect gift, and that is knowing you have found the perfect gift for?

Now I know it's bollocks. There's nothing on earth that's better than receiving the perfect gift and very little that's worse than doing battle with other Christmas shoppers in sweltering shops to get something for someone else.

there's the sixth sense in there too (where he leaps into bed and pulls the covers up).. the most obvious is the Great Escape one.. and the Omen one.. I hadn't really spotted the Jurassic Park one but it's there!

I thought it was alright but the music ruined it. I definitely don't want to hear that a billion times on the run up to Christmas.

Charlie Brooker is having a field day tweeting about this ad on Twitter. He reckons the box has a dog's head in it!

Perhaps it's a horse's head is in the box as a reference to The Godfather?

I went to school with the singer, Amelia. I don't remember her singing back then, but admittedly I am a few years older much, much younger than her.

(Pedant alert) the boy wakes up at 8:30am, on Christmas Day, and the sun is streaming in at the window? Is that possible?

But actually, it made me well up. And think of my lovely daughters who got very, very excited last week about giving me the birthday presents they had chosen for me all on their own. Two sugar mice, a small notebook and some heart-shaped jelly beans. Waaaaaah! (Hormonal soppy mother)
