Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

Late to this thread but have a theory... Troels being set up and I have my suspicions about Morten. I was convinced it was Vagn but now starting to think he is too obvious. i love it though, best thing on TV for ages

DaisySteiner · 21/02/2011 21:55

This is the best programme on TV. Fact.

Just caught up on iplayer. Now I can't wait until next Saturday! I haven't quite understood the significance of the Latvia trip, but the political connections are really hotting up. I honestly think that without having the subtitles I would miss a lot more - as it is, I daren't even get up to make a cup of tea in case I miss something.

"GN" just wonder if someone close to Oliver or his friend are involved?"

My DW thinks it was Olivers dad whodunit. We only saw him briefly, but at least we saw him. Last thing you would want is a new character turning up at 19 hours, 59 minutes and saying it was them!

Finbar · 22/02/2011 08:28

I second the Troels being set up theory....I think tis the cold Rie who arranged it in a fit of jealousy, ( I really have taken against her haven't I?)

Libra · 22/02/2011 11:14

Article about the jumper in today's guardian here

I am leaning towards Oliver's father or the new politician (Jens?) who Troels (yum) was so mean to on Saturday.

DH (Danish) has read who it actually is on the Danish Wikipedia and I am not talking to him at all at home any more in case it spills out.

GoodnightNobody · 22/02/2011 21:29

and, I bet another body turns up soon...

GoodnightNobody · 22/02/2011 21:31

hmm alexsdad...maybe.

roll on Saturday.

Broadwalkempire · 22/02/2011 21:39

I'm loving this too. Watch the catch up on Sunday night and sit glued for 2 hours. Love that sarah never gives up... Rie is definitely in on something. She asked why they were searching the car park. The flat was too messy for bengts profiled killer. We wondered about olivers dad too.....ooh the suspense.

muminlondon · 23/02/2011 23:16

I love this series with each episode for NOT being drippily sentimental like most UK crime dramas. And yet that last brief scene with Bengt was heart-breaking.

I agree muminlondon. Also liking the fact there is a good range of female characters - often lacking in brit drama.

Rehabbibu · 24/02/2011 22:34

Have finally caught up so am marking place for sat. D'you reckon the mother mended the jumper? And will she wear more clothes now Bengt has sent her stuff back. Troels seems to be in a much stronger political position because of all this, but it would be a massively complex plan, and the keys in the pocket seems a bit set up.

Rehabbibu · 24/02/2011 22:35

I'm also glad that Lund isn't an alcoholic...

muminlondon · 24/02/2011 23:36

Hadn't thought about her wardrobe being in Sweden, good point. I reckon her mother darned her jumper for her - at 280 euros you'd want to make do and mend. She's back on the cigarettes though - the nicotine gum obviously not enough. No wonder I felt tense just watching her.

Another thought on the "Olivers Dad" theory - it seems he spends time away on business, and so could have been honing his technique in other countries, hence they didn't find anything on the Danish missing persons register.

If her were revealed as the killer right now, I would be disappointed, but there's another 10 hours yet to develop him as a potential suspect...

We shall see.

It's going to be a difficult weekend though. We've visitors staying, and so will have to wait until some time next week to watch, and I'll have to studiously ignore this thread!

publicenemy · 25/02/2011 21:14

hmm... maybe lunds boyfriend? got into bed late opening scene first episode... the smartest man she knows... criminal psychologist...

Rehabbibu · 26/02/2011 22:56

Well, now I'm totally confused. It all looks like it's pointing to Hartmann, who's lied non-stop, but there are 9 episodes to go... DH reckons he's lying because he did have an affair with Nanna and is just digging himself deeper, but they're all pretty rubbish lies. Gah. And now another week to wait.

Anyone else have a theory?

Rehabbibu · 26/02/2011 22:57

The other missing women must be developed in the coming episodes too, I guess.

The set up seems to be very dependent on Troels lying and digging himself in deeper, though. I guess if the setter-up knows he has a secret, he can capitalise on that.

I have a real urge to learn Danish now. I just really like the sound of it, and keep wandering round saying "Theis!" "TroooelS". etc.
