Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

I don't think it is as there are more red herrings than in an episode of Miss Marple.

I love the Swedish in Wallander as occasionally they'll say something that sounds just like English only in a Swedish accent. Obviously.Hmm

teej · 19/02/2011 23:21

apparently the scriptwriter is a big fan of agatha christie

we are left with a (not so) new suspect tonight. thing is, from the off it would have been so easy for it to have been him. a serial killer who has been lying low long enough for it not to be obvious? well maybe he kept his urges under wraps while he was married. his wife becomes ill, he picks up a casual relationship with a young girl and then dumps her for a more politically expedient relationship. he then needs to get rid but she won't bog off.

but that is all so obviously possible/ plausible i'm not convinced it's him. to the extent i'd be really disappointed if it WAS.

so am hoping for another juicy twist that Agatha would approve of Grin

Finbar · 19/02/2011 23:22

There was a "F off" tonight that sounded remarkably like the English version!

Agree with the red herrings...but there is an ever decreasing pool of potential suspects.
Poor old Bengt too

Finbar · 19/02/2011 23:25

and I'm disliking Rie even more ...for no reason I can explain

teej · 19/02/2011 23:25

y'see - if you think about it... bengt says he's done it before.
but there are no missing girls?
so what about someone who moved to copenhagan in the previous couple of years?
in which case we're looking at someone we don't know that well yet.
and it's got to be someone who knows and has access to the location that was uncovered this evening...

Finbar · 19/02/2011 23:28

then it must be Bengt himself!!

teej · 19/02/2011 23:29

Finbar i don't think we're supposed to like Rie IYKWIM.

teej · 19/02/2011 23:30

nooooo not Bengt!!!

Finbar · 19/02/2011 23:31

nah of course it isn't - your date is still available for dinner!

teej · 19/02/2011 23:32

t'would be a great twist, though! something that close to home would be devastating for Lund...

Blackduck · 20/02/2011 11:33

Don't think its him. Remember girl was cleaned up prior to dumping, well would you really leave your flat looking like that?? (I know he's been busy, but come on!!)....

So someone who wants to make it look like him? Maybe he was having an affiar with her, but he wasn't the one who killed her?

What i didn't get/wasn't clear, was whether that was 'his' flat or a flat the party owned and was used by them? I kind of thought the latter, which means it isn't necessarily him...
I still spend an inordinate amount of time trying to see if her jumper has been patched up from episode one or if it is bad continuity!!

She is single handedly leading the vanguard of fairisle mohair knitwear...

Blackduck · 20/02/2011 17:07

Yes, that jumper gets a mention in the Indie today too! :) Yes, Prolesworth that was my assumption re the flat....So anyone want to advance any further theories?
I do like the way she won't take no for an answer and what is it with Jan and his 'I promised my wife I'd keep a job for three weeks'? Love the way the case is unravelling everyone's lives (but not her jumper!)

trickquestion · 20/02/2011 19:04

Hooray there's a thread on about this, may keep me going until next Saturday. Anyone else think that Morten has a dark side - and access to the flat presumably.

TheFarSide · 20/02/2011 20:22

Yes I wondered about Morten.

But I've also wondered about just about everybody else.

Bremer's quite a nasty character.

GoodnightNobody · 20/02/2011 20:36

I think that Oliver's friend said something that might be a clue...

He said he'd been to a hunting club. Nanna was hunted down, played with.

I don't think Oliver/ his friend did it at all but the head teacher said they were from 'good families,' i.e. parents likely to be powerful...perhaps involved in politics?

just wonder if someone close to Oliver or his friend are involved?

well we'll see Smile

I am totally gripped by it and have a crush on Troels.

Blackduck · 20/02/2011 22:59

Olivers father was quite a nasty bit of work - came in and slapped him....humm...interesting!
