Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

Oh, yes - liked the fag moment. I like Meyer.

yy to the flat stuff - and the lift not working. That's all building up to something. And who is trying to block the investigation?

Yes, gives you the jitters to see her on her own in the dark. I'm worried for all her family really - she hasn't seen her son in daylight for days.

Bremer? Hmm.

Habbibu · 27/02/2011 00:15

God, it's great, isn't it? It's irksome to have to wait a week when we've been having marathon iplayer sessions.

Was he just to set up the racist angle, or are we going to get more on the drug dealer murder? And what about Vagn? It surely can't be him - he's too dim to pull off such a set-up.

Bollocks I am usually so goog at spotting the baddie, but this has me stumped. I get so excited getting 2 shows at a time.
the reaction from the husband of the women from the dating chat room was a bit extreme.
Also why is Lund not following up the missing list?
with the others on the goings on in her flat.

Habbibu · 27/02/2011 00:22

Rie's dad is very powerful, and I wondered if he couldbe blocking it, and now that Rie is pissed off that Troels went out with other women, is she going to let him hang?

But why is Rie so very pissed off that troels used a dating site before they met? And if he needed an alibi, why isn't there an inkling that they've discussed this, iyswim?

Right - mucst sleep. Until next time...

Finbar · 27/02/2011 10:00

Yes - I was wondering why Lund seems to be studiously ignoring the missing women list...that the until recently ever patient Bengt had suggested.

iF its a set up- surely they couldn't have known ahead that Troels would just pop overt to the flat to write a speech and then go to Rie's - seems too many variables

And what about his Lost Weekend?

It s too long to wait until next Saturday!

Blackduck · 27/02/2011 11:22

I still don't think its him. Think his Lost Weekend might have been of the booze and women variety (remember he said about it being him and his wife's anniversary). Re the missing women is it just she doesn't have time? There was some comment about doing it in your own time.....
It is fab though!

hello all - still pondering after another two enthralling eppies last night. i just want to shake Lund and scream "look at the missing girls file you numpty!!!" because there MUST be something there - just as (the lovely) Bengt predicted.

after last night I'm even more convinced it just cannot be troels. a killer who takes great pains to wipe all evidence from the corpse simply would not be so sloppy as to leave any evidence at the scene of the crime (and didn't, unlike troels!). but neither do i now think the murder was done by one of his political foes to set him up(which I was thinking at one point).

troels did something that night and over the next 24 hours that might hurt him personally/politically. but i'm not convinced it was a sex thing. they keep stressing it was his anniversary - perhaps he went a bit loopy with grief and the pressure of trying to keep everything together?

which gets us no nearer nana's real killer Confused but fwiw i watched evil under the sun yesterday and it reminded me that agatha christie normally has the killer in full view, so i don't think a new suspect will be introduced at this point

teej · 27/02/2011 13:39

ooohhhhhhh.... just re-reading what i've posted gave me a thought. agh but if i'm right it would be a spoiler. agh! what they found in the apartment - did anyone else pick up on it?

Blackduck · 27/02/2011 13:52

I did notice they focused on the paperweight and wondered why??! But there are so many red herrings in the thing! So now with the 'clue' that the man in the appartment was smaller than Troels we just need every possible male suspect to stand next to him so we can eliminate them!! :)

trickquestion · 27/02/2011 13:56

Teej - you've got me intrigued, come on tell all! While I was making hot chocolate after last night's epidodes I came up with a wild theory that the guy from the bereavement group that Pernille had coffee with is somehow more involved. His son was killed by a red car, so what if he'd found out that it was a Birk-Larsen van and took revenge against Theiss by killing his daughter, doesn't explain the connection to the flat or anything. Maybe I was just a bit overwrought after two hours of tension.

Blackduck · 27/02/2011 13:59

Funny trick, something like that went through my head too!! All jumping at shadows and seeing killers everywhere :)

teej · 27/02/2011 14:01

agh!!! ok this does NOT solve who the killer is but does resolve one part of the thread and if i'm right will completely exonerate troels.
what did he become defensive about in the apartment? more so than anything else we have seen him being questioned about?

Blackduck · 27/02/2011 14:06

Sedatives.....he was flat on his back out of it? He took an overdose.....

teej · 27/02/2011 14:07

trick i didn't get creepy vibes off him so think the father is there to underline the fact that this grief rips families apart just when they need each other most - reflecting what is happening with theis and pernille.

teej · 27/02/2011 14:09

blackduck ...AND the other thing he was defensive about...

jammietart · 27/02/2011 14:10

New to this thread but completely loving The Killing.

I think it is Morten (is that his name? Troels trusted side kick) but agree there are so many people we've been introduced to who could turn out to be significant at a later stage (Oliver's Dad, the Turk, Rie's Dad and Bengt spring to mind). I agree with the Agatha Christie theory - we've met the killer.

The missing girl file is important because it might give us a clue where it is a serial killer or something political relevant only to the election or something entirely different....

Sorry rambling post but I I don't know anyone irl who is watching so can't talk about it to anyone else!
