Dh cousin has started calling/texting. Can't quite remember who was around when I first just joined the first thread. But he's the one who will turn up with an ounce/Henry/quarter whatever and just dish it out for the company. He use to pester us every weekend and we'd indulge him but took a step back last year and would just be busy etc he stopped pestering for awhile but has started again recently and I'm worried about him. He's very lonely and has a lot of money and had an awful childhood so I'm worried he will do something stupid but we can't be pulled in and we can't enable him.

Got really sad about your friend but I think you're right to pull back from him a bit. It's a bit of a cliche, but he needs to realise for himself and want to change . You could let him know you're there if he needs support? Sounds like he's in a bad place but sometimes you have to hit a real low, like losing friends, or job to come back up again.
