Keeping - Mauve boyfriend cardigan, I like it. Its not a boyfriend length on me but it does cover my arse!!! Spotty cropped favourite cardigan in navy, I always like their cropped cardis and this one looks better than I thought it would. Patent buckle belt well, I would never have paid full price for it but it was cheap and will be handy.

Going back - Lilac/pink washed lined blazer, absolutely horrific, do not buy!! The colour is neither here nor there and the shape is like a square box. Its just wrong!!! Summer scarfs both the patterned and plain, people actually pay £40/50 for these flimsy bits of nothing?? the colours are gaudy too. River Island does much nicer ones for a third of the price.

Thats my sale buying. Now for the post office......

I am keeping the Johnnie B t shirts and striped hoodie for DS2, but have returned the ditsy floral top I ordered for me, I found the cut quite skimpy in my usual size, there is a zip in the side and it was really digging in. Nothing else in my size that I wanted

domesticsluttery · 08/07/2010 15:37

Keeping: 2 x merino tunics
Sent back: capri jeans as they were too tight on my calves

kittya · 08/07/2010 15:42

Whats the chances that this thread is all about keeping the childrens things? and the mens, theres never anything left!!! Im still gobsmacked they charge £49 for abit of material.

Keeping:

Boyfriend cardi in slate. It's a good length and I know I'll wear it heaps.
Hoodies, surf roll ups, skinny jeans for DSs
Floral pink coat for DD (nearly 2) - there'd be no question of returning it now she's insisting on wearing it all the time (back to front! in this heat!)

Returning:
Grey spot shift dress and violet twist front jersey dress. Both are just too big for my A/B cups

Silk trim cardi in taupe - I didn't even get this out of the wrapper - the silk trim looked like a piece of cardboard coloured, raw-edged fabric that didn't really resemble silk. I should have used the zoom function.

Not overly impressed - hope Autumn/Winter is better.

polyhymnia · 08/07/2010 15:46

Just sent back - crinkle linen dress. Love idea of linen already creased, but didn't like the unsubtle green colour - described as 'turquoise'- and the style made my tummy and hips look (even) bigger - can see why one Mumsnetter thought it made her look pregnant.

In limbo - waiting for me to decide if keeping or not - is 'pewter' statement satchel. Love the style, but originally wanted the more grey/silver verion of this colour which, over the season, became more of a copper/ bronze. Still thought I'd try at sale prices. May match the bronze sandals I'm wearing most this summer - but, on other hand, I'm not generally keen on matchy/matchy look. Waiting to ask DH's view when he's in a good mood (though that's not necessarily the decider!). Unfortunately, he's very rarely in a good mood when pressed on questions of fashion...

Cabatach · 08/07/2010 16:13

I am keeping both the must have shopper in silver and the carnaby wallet in navy. Love them both!!

purplepeony · 08/07/2010 16:19

Keeping merino tunic in periwinkle- sending back boyfriend cardi in purple- too pale I think- but might swap for another colour if they get it in stock.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 08/07/2010 16:22

Am still considering colourblock summer dress and must have shift, they are a bit baggy around the stomach. I'm not sure about the spots on the shift dress, it looked so much better on the model

ChippyMinton · 08/07/2010 16:26

Going back
Halterneck dress - cheap looking and garish
Silk party dress - shapeless and looks like polyester. And garish.
Ballet pumps for DD - lovely but the elastic has 'gone' in one of them

Keepers
polka dot ruffle t-shirt for me
2 pairs of shorts, skinny jeans and surf shorts for the DSs. Cannot beat the Boden fit for skinny boys.
Heart pocket capris, sailor shorts, tankini and swimsuit for DD.

Will probably have another look in the shop when I return everything.

dottyaboutstripes · 08/07/2010 16:26

Sent back the blazer - agree with what was said above, it was dire. Also pebble sundress and a swimming costume.

Keeping printed scarf ,summer jersey top and johnnieb cable hoody for me

DD3 had skinny jeans, DS1 had a dinosaur tshirt and DH kept the 2 shirts he'd ordered

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 08/07/2010 16:30

My ds has a dinosaur t-shirt, it's green!

dottyaboutstripes · 08/07/2010 16:31

green here too - LOVE it!

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 08/07/2010 16:32

Ds wanted the brown one but they didn't have it in his size (surprise surprise)

Oumasrusks · 08/07/2010 16:48

Sent back: pebble spot sundress

Keeping: bow striped cardigan, bronze metallic satchel

I'm waiting for the scallop trim coat to be delivered, as well as another cardi and the portofino blazer.

Cabatach · 08/07/2010 16:50

ChippyMinton Be careful of your ruffle tshirt - the material is so thin (cheap!) that my tshirt developed holes by my jeans button on it's first wearing!

moragbellingham · 08/07/2010 17:24

Sending back maxi dressx3, pebble spot sundressx3.
keeping girls ruffle t shirts, johnnie b hoody.

Funny to see what's back in stock i.e what suits/fits absolutely no one!

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 08/07/2010 17:35

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Knee-Length-Dresses/WH194/Womens-Must-Have-Shift.html?NavGroupI D=4 see, it looks better on her, there's a smaller waist. What would you lot do?

lilac21 · 08/07/2010 17:58

the uptown coat - love the colour (Purple), hate the buttons and it's really stiff and cardboardy. Have kept two capri cardis and blue colourblock top.

kittya · 08/07/2010 18:22

Im tempted to see if they have the bf cardi in another colour. I really love the one I got. Its not for this weather but will be great in Autum

OP posts:
purplepeony · 08/07/2010 21:01

Kittya- don't you think the mauve BF cardi is a bit old lady? I AM an old lady and although I think the cardi is good value, I am not sure about mauve.

cornsilk5793 · 09/07/2010 00:21

keeping big pink bag which is fab, swimmers, hoody
sending back - sun dress, crinkle dress, johnny b hoody (too small, but lovely) johnny b t-shirt - ditto, cardigan

GeorginaWorsley · 09/07/2010 09:13

Keeping

Navy Essential dress.Great pull on go anywhere dress, really flatering length on me.

Stripy Henley tees, one red one blue, great at a tenner each.

Brown Stencil print top, prob a bit too recognisably Boden but at £13 it is great with cream linen trousers.

Periwinkle Merino Tunic, will wear loads in Autmn.
Sending back;

Turquoise spotty sundress, cuts into the fat under my arms, although perfect everywhere else

Khaki essential dress,prefer the blue.
Keeping the DDs dresses and cardigans.

kittya · 09/07/2010 09:47

My nieces are keeping the heart shorts, loved them, the strappy suntops and the stripey dresses. Oh, to be mini!! they love it all.

PP are you talking about the striped bf cardigan? I really like it, not necessarily as a fashion statement though but I thought it would be fine to throw on with jeans. Its not that long on me.

Im psyching myself up to go to the post office. Do you think they will take back the stripey Summer straight skirt I bought in April but never wore??? oh, thats cheeky I know!!

OP posts:
polyhymnia · 09/07/2010 10:25

kittya, when I've done that with unworn items once or twice Boden haven't given me a refund, but have given me credit, which does seem pretty fair. Each time, I've spoken to them on phone first to get their agreement before sending things back.

polyhymnia · 09/07/2010 10:28

PS Just re-read your post, and, if you bought in April, you may be within the 3 months deadline for a refund anyway. Again, if by any chance you haven't still got the paperwork, I've found they're very good at keeping records of all your past orders, so you can check details with them on phone.
