Boden Sale, what are you keeping and what are you sending back?

Keeping - Mauve boyfriend cardigan, I like it. Its not a boyfriend length on me but it does cover my arse!!! Spotty cropped favourite cardigan in navy, I always like their cropped cardis and this one looks better than I thought it would. Patent buckle belt well, I would never have paid full price for it but it was cheap and will be handy.

Going back - Lilac/pink washed lined blazer, absolutely horrific, do not buy!! The colour is neither here nor there and the shape is like a square box. Its just wrong!!! Summer scarfs both the patterned and plain, people actually pay £40/50 for these flimsy bits of nothing?? the colours are gaudy too. River Island does much nicer ones for a third of the price.

Thats my sale buying. Now for the post office......

No wedges not at all flimsy, which is great as I have horribly chunky horse-rider calves!

lilac21 · 26/07/2010 06:29

Best offer right now is via Quidco, 10% off, free postage, free returns and 5.5% cashback - valid until 30th July. I have just ordered some shorts and a top!

treedelivery · 26/07/2010 18:34

Oh I have a cashback thing. I forgot

I got my knitted henley. Very nice, slimming on me, so a keeper.

Got the wideleg trousers. Very odd sizing. 16 is too baggy, and loose. 14 is slicing me in half! Am keeping the 14 to 'slim into'

Also got the merino cardi at £24.50 in royal type blue, I found it frumpy. A size 18 swimming cosstume in no way had cup size to deal with a size 18 woman, so going back.

A mixed bag really.

treedelivery · 26/07/2010 18:38

Oh I got the textured notch neck. I found it a bit boring, you'd walk past it int he supermarket. Sending it back, even at that price. It made me feel plain.

domesticsluttery · 26/07/2010 21:33

It was a toss up between the knitted henley and teh textured notch neck for me... perhaps I made the wrong choice!

tulpe · 27/07/2010 08:08

sending back the Bijou cardi. The fabric was all shiny in places - as though it had been ironed on a too high setting . Anyway, it looked cheap so am returning and am now walking away from the clearance pages of the site..........honest.

Northernlurker · 27/07/2010 08:47

I've just ordered two more of the everyday dress tops for older girls. They are really useful and lovely colours and £4.50 each!!

petalpower · 27/07/2010 09:50

My daughter has these in all three colours Northern. Really lovely. Got them at the first sale price (£7 IIRC). £4.50 is such a bargain!

SerendipityAlways · 27/07/2010 10:07

Got the essential long sleeved scoop neck top in blue yesterday, fantastic quality, really good fit and only £11!! I should have gotten one in about 5 different colours initially as they would be great for layering in Autumn and Winter with cardis and some of the things Ive ordered in the A/W preview. But sadly they're now all gone in my size! Sent back the merino cardi, very frumpy as a previous poster said, I'm a size 10 and it was literally swimming on me. Think I am going to leave the clearance stuff alone now, I keep going in to "have a look" and end up buying something, ordered a very useful plain white textured top last night for £12 and a lovely long sleeved t shirt for my DS for £7. But at least postage was free. PS - A/W preview stuff is being posted out today!!

treedelivery · 27/07/2010 10:25

OOO I bet the white textured notch top is nice.

domesicsluttery - it's a useful top so you mght find it a good item, I just wanted something a bit more interesting iyswim. I look a terror in tops like this, I'm all boobs and bulges [hmmm]

I maybe should have gone for plain, rather than stripes.

Got email, my denim skirt from the Autumn range is on it's way. No idea how to actually fund it....

treedelivery · 27/07/2010 10:44

Ok I now find myself stalking plain tops....

domesticsluttery · 27/07/2010 10:45

I may well look all boobs and bulges too

I ordered one plain and one striped, but the striped was an afterthought really and may well go back.

treedelivery · 27/07/2010 11:33

They are such a good price though, you might be able to do that funky layering of vests/tops that escapes me The pinky stripe has a sort of blue/grey backgroud, so it did nothing for me as a pale ginger. Plus I'm too tall for Boden tops really.

I had to choose between that and the stripey henley - otherwise I'd probably have kept it too, for chugging about at home at such like.

domesticsluttery · 27/07/2010 17:23

I wish it would hurry up and arrive...

It was dispatched on Saturday apparently.

moragbellingham · 27/07/2010 21:54

Tulpe - I sent back a jersey dress with the strange shiny ironing marks (of the front neckline) imprinted on the back.
Do you think they do a bit of reconditioning of returns before resale?

kittya · 28/07/2010 10:56

The bronze satchel-keeping but I'm not convinced those magnetic fastenings are very secure. Tassled leather flip flops lovely but two sizes too small, when are Boden going to cop on to shoe sizing? I have perfectly average feet! The patent bag in two colours well, I'm not convinced it's even leather! I've had better from Peacocks, it looks very cheat and I can't believe it's got nearly hundred quid off it. I'm gutted. It's awful when you get a big parcel and it has to go back!

domesticsluttery · 28/07/2010 19:16

Order arrived today.

Strangely the Textured Notch Neck in Lime, which I thought would be really nice looked hideous on. Whereas the same top in Blush Stripe, which I thought would probably be sent back, looks really nice. So the Lime is going back!

treedelivery · 28/07/2010 20:15

Glad one suited domesticsluttery! Was interested to see how you'd get on.

Wore my wideleg trousers today, and the closure fell to bits! Then the zip wouldn't stay up so I got in a rare old pickle and it actually put a downer on the day out with the kids. I had to keep doing up my trousers, and people kept spotting my situation

They have more instock so shoudl be able to change them. Bit though

I really want the colourblock dress, I am just waiting for a 16L to come in stock. It's quite addictive, monitoring the BOden stock fluctuations

SerendipityAlways · 29/07/2010 11:21

Got some of my sale stuff yesterday.

Am returning a pair of chalk coloured bootcut trousers, way tooo long, and a little bit boring to be honest. Also the fabric was weird, moleskin-like.

Am also returning the gorgeous sateen clutch bag in fuschia, which is now sold out!! Its so pretty but I dont thing I will get much in the way of an opportunity of sporting this bag with my lifestyle, reluctantly returning it.

Also got a silver snakeskin skinny belt, (too many s's there) tried it in the small size which was all that was left, but could do with the medium. But its really well made and quite smart (and now sold out!!!) so thinking of keeping it to do that "wrap around your waist kind of look" over cardis in the winter, which does look well.

Can't wait for preview to arrive now!!!!

domesticsluttery · 29/07/2010 11:52

New catalogue arrived today.

Have hidden it

kittya · 30/07/2010 17:49

Ive got a huge box of stuff to send back. Im dreading the postage.

OP posts:
tulpe · 30/07/2010 17:59

treedelivery - call customer services and ask if they have your dress in stock. I had to call them today as site was being v slow and I wanted to order the straight leg jeans in a 10. The website was showing out of stock for 10R but she said they were available . So might be worth calling them to chase up a specific size.

tulpe · 30/07/2010 18:01

kittya - any chance you have a free returns label knocking around from earlier this season? I have returned stuff I don't want in the sale using them.

kittya · 30/07/2010 18:26

Ive returned that much stuff this year, I have only one from the new order - which, Im returning!!

OP posts:
tulpe · 30/07/2010 18:31

Put them all in the same parcel then. I posted some stuff back today with stuff from sale and new season together in the same parcel. I have done this before too. Just don't forget to enclose all relevant paperwork
