Boden Sale, what are you keeping and what are you sending back?

Keeping - Mauve boyfriend cardigan, I like it. Its not a boyfriend length on me but it does cover my arse!!! Spotty cropped favourite cardigan in navy, I always like their cropped cardis and this one looks better than I thought it would. Patent buckle belt well, I would never have paid full price for it but it was cheap and will be handy.

Going back - Lilac/pink washed lined blazer, absolutely horrific, do not buy!! The colour is neither here nor there and the shape is like a square box. Its just wrong!!! Summer scarfs both the patterned and plain, people actually pay £40/50 for these flimsy bits of nothing?? the colours are gaudy too. River Island does much nicer ones for a third of the price.

Thats my sale buying. Now for the post office......

keeping my straightleg jeans that I bought in a different wash to the ones I already had. Tbh I can't understand why they were in the sale when they also appear in the preview so they're not being discontinued. Hey ho, thanks Johnny for the discount.

Lauriefairycake · 09/07/2010 10:36

do the straghtleg jeans have some proper stretch? it says they have 3% elastane but do they actually stretch comfortably?

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 09/07/2010 10:44

Laurie - am wearing them now and have given them a tug, tbh you don't really notice the stretch but they are comfortable iyswim.

kittya · 09/07/2010 14:37

they are lovely and Im quite taken by the bright blue ones. There abit different. They dont exactly cling once you have worn them for afew minutes

keeping the riviera top - it's really nice on, and fits me much better than most boden tops do (big boobs)

tulip27 · 09/07/2010 15:02

Sending back the ladies shirt dress in green (awful material), also sending back the stripped crew neck jumper , funny length.
Am keeping all the childrens bits, swimming shorts for ds- fab material and for dd 2 dresses and 1 swim suit.
Keep looking at the satchel in bronze thou ..

merino tunic in the greyish brown colour (only thing I ordered)

What are people wearing with their merino tunics? I don't do skinny jeans, and DH has just announced that he doesn't like tunic-y dresses with leggings. Is it too short to wear with opaques and boots (not in the current weather you understand)?

I'm quite long so it's really quite short on me...

pirateparty · 09/07/2010 16:07

I have the bf cardi in slate and mauve and love them both. I'm not old (I don't think so anyway - 33 so not that old surely ) and I think it's how you wear it!

I sent back the hotchpotch top (just didn't like it in RL) and linen crinkle dress (think it was me who put on another thread it made me look pregnant!) and a stripey polo for ds.

Kept stripey scarf and above maurve cardi for myself, and yes, lots for ds and a shirt for dh.

pirateparty · 09/07/2010 16:11

Has anyone ever tried the necklaces? I'm always tempted but then decide they look really heavy and maybe a bit OTT... I realise I could just buy one and see

Any fans or otherwise?

pirateparty · 09/07/2010 16:13

Also - missed the bronze satchel. Red - gaudy & cheap or funky?!

orangina · 09/07/2010 16:23

Kept the t-shirty things I bought for dd, but sent back St Barts cardi for me (uuurrrggghhhhhh) and orange tote bag that was a FOUL red tomato-y colour and nothing like the picture.

Have vowed not to shop for me at Boden again. It always goes back.

GeorginaWorsley · 09/07/2010 16:25

pirate I think the merino tunics a bit short and thin to wear with thights, ifyswim.
I wear with linen trousers in cooler summer weather, leggings and boots in the winter,or over straight leg jeans.
HTH!

teta · 09/07/2010 16:40

I have just posted back 9 out of 10 things i ordered and paid over £6 for the 'privelege' of recorded delivery.I have to say i think the clothes are beyond awful[apart from leaf tunic which is so/so].I will never shop at boden again. All the other online companies i deal with do not charge for returns.

domesticsluttery · 09/07/2010 17:20

I wear my merino tunics with jeans.

Be careful what bag you carry with them though, I went down to the village shop yesterday carrying a jute bag on my shoulder, and it has bobbled my merino tunic all down one side! Not impressed

Oumasrusks · 09/07/2010 17:35

I'm sending back the Portofino blazer. The arms are too long and the shape is a bit boxy and unflattering.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 09/07/2010 17:38

Morag I have the pink must have shift (with cream spots that look huge) and the blue colourblock dress.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 09/07/2010 17:39

I'm keeping everything but then everything was for DS as Boden not my style, love the boys clothes.

vintage · 09/07/2010 17:41

does anyone have the easy going silk dress? is it nice and a good fit (12) with big boobs

snowplop · 09/07/2010 17:50

Belle I bought the dress in grey and agree that the spots look huge! It was too baggy around the chest/back/waist so I returned it. Loved the neckline but I'd have preferred the skirt bit to be flared rather than fitted so that my rear could have been comfortably accommodated by a smaller size IYSWIM. Are you keeping it?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 09/07/2010 17:56

I like it, but I'm not 100% sure. I may take out a needle and thread and take the tummy in a bit though.

moragbellingham · 09/07/2010 19:18

You're brave, I can only manage turn-ups.

moragbellingham · 09/07/2010 19:19

Anyone keep the pebble spot sundress? Am having second thoughts about the purple one.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 09/07/2010 19:31

I do allsorts, I sew.
