Ollie - the Temperley dress is very nice. Would work well over skinnies or leggings too if you ruched up the length a bit.

Right off to start Wolf Hall so good night.

notyummy · 11/03/2010 21:11

I am reading Wolf Hall at the mo! Enjoying it, but slightly hard going at times.

LetThemEatCake · 11/03/2010 21:32

monkeysmama I know you are with family but just in case you check in again tonight (crosses fingers)

RL3P for 25% off at Oli before midnight tonight on orders more than £80

have also wondered about that Fever stripe maxi .. but am also put off by stupid pose

hope you are having a lovely time with your mum

OllieWollieWoo · 11/03/2010 21:37

My sister has those fab shoes Traceybath and I know exactly what you mean re occasion outfits - I cringe at some of the stuff I've worn in the past as have left it til late to get something and then can't find anything nice! This year is the year of buying things WHEN i see them and not when I need them! I am missing buying work clothes tho - have seen loads recently that would be good if I had a job - just can't get away with dressing up to play offices with DSs!

GeorginaWorsley · 11/03/2010 21:49

ltec
Re Great Plains skirt,it is not black it is a dark navy, termed 'midnight'.
Am loving anythig navy atm!

reallygrumpy · 11/03/2010 23:32

Hello all,

I love this thread! I'm just catching up after 3 super-stressful days at work BUT I did get to go shopping at lunchtime today so headed to Gap with my 30% off voucher and... hated everything I tried on, was v disappointed by the chinos, but got some lovely new summer stuff for DD.

Am currently debating whether to order the Layla in oyster or taupe, I'm v pale with dark hair - any views on what might look best??

I'm also debating these in white but I think maybe they're too '1970s geek'. I need some shoes I can wear pushing the buggy, to the park etc. What do you think? I need something instead of fitflops / birkis.

Hells I love the maxi dress and the jacket and (it was pages ago) have you tried bravissimo for nice underwear in small back / larger cup sizes?

Barbabelle - I really like the Alexa shoes, I'm seriously considering them

LTEC have you tried asos for maxi dresses? Am slightly worried I'm turning into an 'LTEC clone / stalker' as my gold Ash trainers should arrive tomorrow, I've just ordered the asos swan t-shirt and DH is buying me the starfish for mother's day. Hope you don't mind!

Have also ordered this for work, I thought it would work well with a black pencil shirt in the summer. this to wear with jeans for playgroup / park etc. these instead of the chinos.

Finally, am debating whether to ebay this which I've only worn once. I'm 36 and worried it's a bit 'mutton' - what do you think?

monkeysmama · 12/03/2010 00:30

Too late Cakey. Damn. But had fab evening so makes it ok.

Re meeting up. Is anyone really up for it? I think we're going to want to do it again once we start. I'm thinking May picnic in Greenwich Park. Maze Hill is only four (?) stops from London Bridge for those outside London & I'll cater a picnic for us all if I know how many fancy it.

Romanarama · 12/03/2010 07:34

I've ordered this jacket and skirt. Thank you very much to whoever mentioned AMEX25 a while ago!

Tracey I really like that Jigsaw bag (the leather rose one, not the 'forest' one)

Romanarama · 12/03/2010 07:37

Grumpy why don't you order both Layla's and send the one you like least back?

I don't much like that Issa dress - looks a bit little girly to me.

notyummy · 12/03/2010 08:36

Nice blazer Roma.

Would be up for a meet-up if logistics allow. I am quite far out of London, but good train links mean I could do it in about 1 1/2 hours.

bunnymother · 12/03/2010 08:40

grumpy - love the ASOS shoulder detail top and think the red dress is beautiful, not at all muttony. Great w metallic flat sandals. Or tan accessories.

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 08:46

nice work Roman. When's the first interview?

grumpy of course not!! am ridiculously & unjustifiably flattered

mm I would love to and think that a May picnic sounds perfect. As you know, it's very easy for me to get to Greenwich.

I've cancelled [[http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/76740 these shorts] and ordered these in black because, fgs, they're shorts and I'm not a model or society girl who needs to perfect my so-called "off-duty chic"

and on the maxi dress front - good call on asos grumpy - I am considering this although it's more than I wanted to spend but I like the print and the way it moves in the video. Both of my maxis are bandeau which may be impractical with holding the baby this summer - what do you think?

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 08:47

bunny - how's dd?

Romanarama · 12/03/2010 09:07

V.sensible Cakey - there's really no point spending £££ on shorts.

First interview is next Thursday, and in London, so am trying to organise the boys and to schedule enough time to buy some bareMinerals make up while I'm there. Can you get it in all dept stores? Oxford street would be easiest to manage for me I think.

Shall I wear the Choos all the way, or change? How will I carry them? (I may need a new handbag )

Fleecy · 12/03/2010 09:22

ltec same price as my black shorts - I also have a khaki pair very similar. I do find the khaki ones easy to dress, pairing them with flat sandals and a white vest or wedges and a dressier top. Must try harder with the black ones...

I'd be up for a meet up, although don't fancy bringing a 2yr old and 3yr old on a 2hr train ride each way! So I'll come alone or bring DD, we'll see. What to wear? Oh the pressure!

I have ordered the New Look jersey maxi someone linked to a while back. Have ordered it in the navy and the orangey colours, plus these sandals and these bangles. So much for not buying anything this month

Where's hells?

traceybath · 12/03/2010 09:39

Fleecy - new look is my new favourite shop - I have had so many compliments on my pretendy leather biker jacket from there. Also bought some brilliant wood/gold bangles from there.

Am definitely up for a meet up in may - a weekend day would be better for me as could then leave the boys with their daddy and just bring DD which is more manageable on train etc.

LTEC saw in InStyle some silk shorts from asos - will see if I can find them online - they were about £30 and I thought of you.

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 09:39

do you mean the £15 New Look one fleecy, the one that came in loads of colours? Good job.

What do you lot think of the black & green one?

not sure about makeup Roman - surel Selfridges though? I'd wear Choos for airport and flight, change for public transport and then on again for shopping & interview

Where is hells?? and marsha and mrsjuan????

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 09:42

there's no way I could cope with styling pressure of a meet up so will not even try. Joggy botts, flip flops and a old tank top.

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 09:46

ooh, if you could tracey - thank you.

Where is esher?? I want the NYC purchases lowdown!!

should I start a new thread or does someone else want to?

traceybath · 12/03/2010 09:50

Think Hells had a business lunch yesterday -surely she'd back by now

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2010 10:29

Hi folks. I'm on a save cycle (well sort of ). Or rather I want to save for a bit for some house stuff (a huge mirror from a place called Viaduct in London) and get a SS bag.

I am wearing winter stuff still as am walking to school rather than driving (great for figure, and for ds1 to get used to walking) but am refusing to wear coat. RL wrap thingo instead. I can't bear my coat anymore! It's nice, navy Chloe one or even cream VBruno one, but ach I'm wintered out.

Roman I'd wear flats for flight and walking around London shops? Then change for interview. (but I hate getting sore feet).
