Following on from here

Surely the sun will be out by the end of this thread?

Well I could say they are silk and you have 3 young DCs but that is not in the spirit of this thread

Actually I think they would look lovely on you.

Hopefully I will not need the tops for another couple of months! Thank you.

I am completely in love with that jacket from topshop - is it leather?

Also I went into Kew today to have a look at that bag and then haven't got it in yet. They did have this which isn't very summery but I thought might make a good nappy bag for next winter. It's not as shiny as in the photo.

Romanarama · 10/03/2010 16:58

What shall I buy to go with this jacket that's on its way then?

LetThemEatCake · 10/03/2010 17:06

something in this shape - really fitted, really plain

bunnymother · 10/03/2010 17:17

Cakey - I adore that hat!! So v glam - 50's movie star... And v sun safe.

God, DD driving me crazy. Grrr. Whingey, clingy and now learned to scream while she cries. Nice. Have to remind myself that she will be delightful again when her tummy is better.

Barbabelle · 10/03/2010 17:46

Thank you all for the verdict. I know you're right - the sunshine's been lovely today so I'll order the glads and leave the boots alone for now (though I'll keep checking to see if they're drastically reduced at some point).

Traceybath, the Otelo heels are great. I'm quite tempted by those as well - not usually so into Toast.

LTEC, I love that James Perse skirt. I'd wear it with my new Alexas (if they fit) and a T-shirt, but it would be perfect with the Propaganda jacket, Romanarama.

notyummy · 10/03/2010 18:07

Roma - was eyeing up that very jacket just last night.

VERY nice. Liking LTEC's skirt suggestion too.

hellsbelles · 10/03/2010 18:18

rushing in quickly - Tracey - I much prefer the toast ones.

Cahu - what a shame. Perhaps they did have it in my branch and I assumed it was different as the colour was so different?!

traceybath · 10/03/2010 18:43

Barbabelle - if you get the otelo heels get them from asos as £195 on there.

God I am stressed about this wedding I'm going to a week on saturday - only going to evening party but I just don't know what to wear.

Aaagghhh.

(obviously I'm not that stressed but it is annoying me)

PlumSykes · 10/03/2010 19:07

Blossoming, M&S has several swimsuits that have tummy-help. this one looks particularly nice, but there are a few others that might be worth trying too.

eshermummy · 10/03/2010 19:13

Tracey - as you know I LOVE the Otelo heels so I would def go for them over the hasbeens.

Barbarelle - have you ordered those Alexa glads? They are very nice but am racking my brains to remember what happened with the pair I ordered last year in the sale - I can't quite remember but they were a really strange fit and had to go back. Hopefully it was just a dud pair I got in the tail end of the sale. It was as if the position of the straps didn't match up with the sole ifyswim. Anyway, hopefully it is a non-issue

Roma - I agree with the others re that VW red label suit - not at all keen o that asymmetric skirt. What about that belted theory dress that someone linked for you ages ago?

Cake - don't like those shorts, sorry.

bunjies · 10/03/2010 19:16

Betraying my extreme ignorance of all things sartorial but could someone explain what is meant by 'fierce glads'? I know the glads means gladiator style shoes but what does the fierce part mean?

Like the Otelo and the Alexa sandals. Quite fancy the Alexas myself in gold, although like Tracey could do with a bit more in the height dept.

Love the VW jacket Romana but agree with others that a classic pencil skirt would be better, especially with the Choos.

vesela · 10/03/2010 19:18

LTEC, is this any good as a maxi dress? Purple and green...

blossoming · 10/03/2010 19:39

I like those glads that barbarelle linked to too.
Two things though:
Firstly, I don't like Toast, only the buttered with marmalade variety, hence the tummy control swimwear.

Also, my sister was wearing a Toast top last week and someone asked her when her baby was due. The shame!!

Secondly, there is a photo of me aged 15 in some campsite in France wearing glads, and every time someone sees it there's laughs aplenty about my footwear.
No, can't get over it.
Will be havaianas, and birkenstocks I fear, yet again.

Btw, I was one of the first to recommend the m&s ballet flats after wearing them to death last year. However I've put mine up on ebay now without wearing them as I find them too wide fitting this year.

Thanks for the swimwear link plum. I don't have big boobs so I want to wear a bandeau style so that people can concentrate on my lovely shoulders and neckline instead!
Weight should be gone by the summer, but I still like some tummy control.

I guess my post re: LTEC are you going to wear those shorts in Cornwall? went missing somewhere.

Bunjies, my understanding of 'fierce' is that of an adjective that stylists are using for something amamzing, normally used for high heeled glads, like those gorgeous jimmy choo ones. Mind you, I'm from Wales, so I may be wrong!

hana I think the Otelos would look good with your skirt. Definitely cute.

ltec I have some shorts very like that in shape but not silk. They're very nice and slimming on the leg but I'm never quite sure what to wear them with. What would you suggest?

LetThemEatCake · 10/03/2010 20:34

oh hana!! I was so hoping you would. Please, please please don't wear the skirt. In fact, ebay the skirt!! you have no need of the skirt ever again!!

notyummy · 10/03/2010 20:38

Cornish wedding - lovely.

LetThemEatCake · 10/03/2010 20:41

tracey - give us the wedding outfit options. There must be loads!!

bunjies - 'fierce' just means not jesus-y really. Something that sets the glads apart from sandalwood-waving hippies and their take on them .. be it detailing, a heel, the thickness of the straps ... that sort of thing.

Thanks for the maxi suggestions, I think both look a little too billowy for me

Fleecy I am likely to just wear those shorts with a plain tank tucked in - will let the shoes and the jewels do the talking. I will not be wearing with that denim monstrosity that they've styled it with on the NaP site

bunny you poor thing, is she nearly better?

notyummy · 10/03/2010 20:42

Good for you Hana - it looks like a lovely dress and appears to be getting rave reviews!

matildamum · 10/03/2010 20:44

Nice work Hana, I think the dress is lovely. In fact was watching that very one myself!! Well done you. I agree with LTEC - it is sooo much nicer than the skirt. The dress will be so easy to wear, think of all you'll save on styling it with top, belt etc etc.

Am considering the taupe or oyster one for myself, but have hair similar colour to those and wonder if the overall effect might be a bit beige ....will think more

notyummy · 10/03/2010 20:50

LTEC

Maxis:

grey plain and slinky

I have this one and I think I am similar shape to you? 5 10 - 10 on top and 12 on bottom? Tis v flattering

cheap and cheerful

Why helllooooo - I like THIS one!

matildamum · 10/03/2010 20:57

LTEC

Maxi suggestions:

Bold

or v simple

Ohh, but this one is my favourite I think

Fleecy · 10/03/2010 20:59

hana that's gorgeous. Would like one myself but don't have any occasion to wear it. You'll look amazing. What shoes are you planning to wear?

ltec my shorts aren't a brilliant length for tucking in at the moment as they're not quite high-waisted enough so it's not flattering when I sit down. Might work come the summer though, seems to be taking ages to get to spring so plenty of time to tone the tum!
