Mine was like a 50's style prom dress with a blue sash round the waist.

pic on profile

hid the fact that I was Mahoosive the fatest I have ever been

LetThemEatCake · 05/01/2010 13:41

oooh, my favourite sort of question

pic on profile ... i love my wedding dress

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 05/01/2010 13:43

OOh LTEC wow your dress was soo gorgeous!

BigBadMummy · 05/01/2010 13:44

Mine was an Alfred Angelo design. Navy blue band around the top of the boobs and then that went all the way down the back so the whole of the middle panel of the train was navy blue.

Very traditional from the front but from the back it looked amazing.

And very "me". I am a large size 18 and it hid all my lumps and bumps.

I loved it.

LetThemEatCake · 05/01/2010 13:53

wow, greyskull, was just looking through your pics - how on earth could you have been big?? look tiny!! and lovely!!

I am also a cake-decorating type but yours put mine to shame ...

AuldAlliance · 05/01/2010 13:56

I wore trousers.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 05/01/2010 13:57

bless you, you are very kind, tried to loose weight for my wedding, joined weight watchers who told me I wasn't eating enough and ended up putting on an extra stone

Pinner35 · 05/01/2010 13:57

Mine was an ivory beaded halterneck, straight to the floor with a small train......I had to schlep it all the way to South Africa and cart it around for about 10 days before we got married. I got to wear it twice though as we had a party when we got back.

vesela · 05/01/2010 14:00

Mine looked like this but the sleeves were longer and it was a tad darker. It was from Pronuptia - the first dress I tried on and I totally fell for it.

Fruitbatlings · 05/01/2010 14:00

this was mine but in light gold

Fruitbatlings · 05/01/2010 14:01

I had the train taken in quite a lot though

Melanie150410 · 05/01/2010 14:02

Hi!
Mine was an Ian Stuart Devereaux, I LOVED it, I felt like a princess

Fruitbatlings · 05/01/2010 14:13

Mine's now on my profile. I think it's much nicer in the light gold

lumpsdumps · 05/01/2010 14:17

This was mine, though I do now wish I hadn't worn a veil or had long hair

Fruitbatlings · 05/01/2010 14:19

That's a lovely length, lumpsdumps. Wish I'd had the calves for that length

VerityBrulee · 05/01/2010 14:23

Mine was ivory satin backed crepe Ben De Lisi slinky column dress.

BUT, by the time the wedding came around I was about 11 weeks along with ds2 and my boobs had got so big I couldn't fit into it

So I wore a gunmetal grey satin dress with an empire line and tulip skirt and Emma Hope embroidered shoes.

BDL is still in wardrobe, unworn.

mustrunmore · 05/01/2010 14:25

Jeans, and a white top from River Island.

lumpsdumps · 05/01/2010 14:35

I loved my wedding dress, I got engaged in Feb 2008 and saw my dress on display in BHS and fell in love with it. I bought in the March, when we hadn't even set a date.

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 14:40

this is me in mine but it looks pink on there

but it def was NOT pink

dizzydixies · 05/01/2010 14:40

blue, I got married in blue with DD1 to match and the bridesmaids in midnight blue/french navy - I preferred their dresses if I'm honest

mine was v neck front and back. rouching and then a line with a split layer over the back so the underneath came out into a smallish train. matching ice blue veil with satin trim

DD1 wore very simple dress of same material and navy velevet cloak

girls work navy dresses with white furry jacket thingies

looked fab for winter wedding and it snowed too

Mine's on my profile. It's ivory with red embroidery

emsyj · 05/01/2010 14:43

Mine was sort of a copy of the dress and veil Audrey Hepburn wore in 'Funny Face' - ballerina length, slash neck, cap sleeves, quite 50s, very plain with a long silk veil that attached to the back of the dress (which sounds weird, but I thought it looked good).

meltedmarsbars · 05/01/2010 14:44

I made mine.

It was ivory silk, not too flared, with a little cropped dark green velvet jacket and an ivory top hat, riding style.
