Hmmmm?

OP posts:

I searched and searched for something simple yet flattering, thought I'd never find it, got trains here and there to visit out of towns shops, then found just what I wanted online, only to see it was in a shop about two minutes from my parents house!

It was made by D'zage, very simple, quite inexpensive, strapless, with beading around the top, and a beaded, drop "V" waist, with a bit of a nod to medieval Maid Marion stylee. The back had a tulip split revealing lots of little beaded pearl flowers and a tiny bit of sparkle. You'd have to look hard to see the detail - on my profile pic though..

hang on, i have to connect my laptop to the external hard drive to sort out a picture, doctor it (obscure my face in other words!) and post it....

nomorecake · 05/01/2010 19:18

silk, red, veil, short top, long full skirt with a train (sp?), embroidered with beads and diamontes... traditional indian wedding dress!

kitsmummy · 05/01/2010 19:21

Pic on my profile page. I totally loved my dress, India by Pronovias, a Spanish company. Entirely lace, fishtail style, with a bit of sparkle too, can't bear to sell it.

Mine an off the peg from Virgin Brides, long empire line dress with long coat over the top...got married in December. My shoes were shit, like Queen Mum shoes but not in a good way

OhForGodsSake · 05/01/2010 19:23

lol

cruelladepoppins · 05/01/2010 19:24

Regency/ Jane Austen style, empire-line, raw silk with sprigged antique lace overlay, cream. Came with detachable puffed sleeves that I never attached. A row of very delicate buttons up the back.

Principally bought because we organised the wedding in 6 weeks and it was "off the peg" at the bridal shop, size 14.

It was a February wedding (NB I wasn't pg!) and I wore it with a purple velvet cloak and a tiara, no veil, with a little ball of flowers hanging from a ribbon.

I loved that dress - still have it - although following 2 pregnancies have never fitted into it again!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 05/01/2010 19:25

Mine was a huge silk tent from caroline castigilano. I still feel slightly guilty about the cost and don't really know what to do with it now. But when I first tried it on it had my mum and best mate in tears and, even though I tried to find a cheaper alternative I just had to have it. I didn't want to get something else and then walk down the aisle thinking "I wish I'd worn that dress.

Pictures on my profile. It was an extravagence, but it felt amazing. It is now on the top of my wardrobe and I try it on every anniversary.

brimfull · 05/01/2010 19:25

mine was a MargeSimpson piece

Cybilsmateboughthershoeboots · 05/01/2010 19:26

Mine should now be on profile. White. Pretty standard wedding dress fayre really. Not what I had in mind at ALL when I saw it on the hanger but it looked perfect on and the ones I liked on the hanger looked heinous on me !

OhForGodsSake · 05/01/2010 19:27

made for free by mate

was fine

Lotster · 05/01/2010 19:27

Oh Yorkshire - CC is expensive! But you do get wine or bubbly (IME)while you're trying it on eh?

NomDePlume · 05/01/2010 19:28

NomDePlume · 05/01/2010 19:29

DD (11mo at the time) was sick down the back of mine about 40 seconds after the ceremony so there is a big orange baby food puke stain down the back of the snowy white skirt.

OhForGodsSake · 05/01/2010 19:29

no actually i did like it
but god
it was a dress - get over it
