too many women seem to have boobs pointing south, or four of them.

then LOOK AT YOUR REAR VIEW

have you a fat back rippling out from underneath it?
if so please get a bigger bra.

ithankyou

Cyteen - prob about right - try various cup sizes in a 32 til you get the right one

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 14:58

fat doesnt need to mean ill fitting bra

floppyearsandcurlywiskers · 13/04/2009 15:13

I'm confused with the measuring. Do you measure with a bra on or off?? Surely it's with a bra on isn't it? But then the shape and style of bra with impact the measurement???

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 13/04/2009 15:16

'fat back' means bra is too small/tight. Has nowt to do with your body size. More 'muffin tray' than muffin top.

Does anyone still wear the mighty Dreen?

largeginandtonic · 13/04/2009 15:33

Good god no, they went out with belts on maxi pads didn't they?

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 15:34

i had one.
when pg
was utterly gutted by the NON aspirational toileteries name

In theory you measure with a bra on (to hold the norks up) but obviously if you have a very badly fitting bra it will squish them and the measurement will come out wrong.

The main thing is to get an idea of what sort of size you should be trying, then go and try on lots of different styles (to see which suit you) in a range of sizes around what you measured. So for cyteen a 32 back is likely to be right, but she should try E and F and maybe even G cups to check which feel best - it might be different in different shops or for different styles.

cyteen · 13/04/2009 15:49

Thanks ladies I'm off into town tomorrow so will try on as many as DS will permit.

cyteen · 14/04/2009 17:13

Hmm, well, tried on several 32Fs in M&S and they were all hellishly uncomfortable and gave me back fat Is this just because they're shit bras or have I got my size wrong?

triffictits · 14/04/2009 21:09

Just wanted to pop back on to thank piratecat - you forced me to go back and get remeasured and as guessed I have gone up a cup size. Brilliant - no more wires digging into my boobs because my bra is too small.

However, you did make me spend £157 on new bras

I still havent found a nice underwired white seamless t-shirt bra though. The one I was wearing just doesn't fit right in the next cup size, even the lady in the shop said the same. Does anybody have a decent one?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 15/04/2009 23:03

cyteen - if it's giving you back fat then you need to try a 34 or maybe even a 36. Did the cup fit?

cyteen · 16/04/2009 15:02

Thanks Duchess. The cup did seem to fit okay so I'll try some 34Es when I go shopping on Saturday (bearing the whole 'up in the back, down in the cup' advice in mind).

Tbh I didn't think I was likely to be a 32 anything I've never been that narrow in my life and at 7.5 months post partum am not exactly at my thinnest.

tonybleh · 16/04/2009 17:17

Help! i've just measured and used an online calculator, and the result sounded frankly barking.

I'm 31 inches under, 35 across, and the calculator said I should be a size 36aa?! that does not sound right.

tonybleh · 16/04/2009 17:18

[bleh has visions of boobs leaking out the bottom of the bra]
