What ballet flats are you buying for Autumn?

Considering these but they're expensive for what they are. But I want soft leather, and I like the elastic strap. Fed up of wearing trainers in the 'in between' season.

Has anyone found anything lovely?

I realise I've strayed onto MJs.

loveawineloveacrisp · 05/09/2026 12:30

I've ordered these. Bargain.

I am converting these although they are very much a want and not a need so they can stay on my wish list.

Trying to have a low cost autumn and I already have trainers and boots (and WFH so wouldn't get masses of use out of the shoes)

Same. Like I need more shoes...

Where are they from? Is the sole rigid or bendy?

They’re topshop but from asos. The sole is firm but flexible. Not very helpful 😂 I’ve only worn them once so far but they looked really nice with some straight leg dark blue jeans.

I would just like fashionable shoes that don't screw my feet and ankles. I'm 46; I still want to wear the occasional fashionable thing, but ballerinas and loafers make me scrunch my feet to keep them on. They're either too big, too small or too wide. With attendant issues. You can feel everything through the soles in ballet flats. Especially as my feet have no fat in them. And you have to walk slowly.

The only shoes that don't knacker my feet and ankles are Adidas trainers, dms and clarks brogues. And actually heels, but they do wreck my knees and back.

I’m a repetto girl and have been since I was a teenager. But they are expensive and tbh they spend most of the year in a box under my bed because the British weather is so inhospitable.

If you want a good quality ballet pump though, those are the ones to get.

I have never met a fellow Repetto fan. Hello!

You've put me off now. Was poised to buy with 15% off!

Save your money OP, they don’t look great.

Brown suede Mary Janes from Next.

These from this Spanish company which specializes in making “comfy” footwear - I’ve ordered but they haven’t arrived yet, although I have a few pairs from this brand so am quietly confident!

They look great, but that style wouldn't work with my high arches. Shame.

No one can convince me that ballet flats are not diabolical.

This.

The only place for ballet shoes is on a ballerina's feet.

These shoes look very retro. I remember my grandmother wearing shoes just like these in the 60's along with a smart skirt suit, hat and fox fur. She never really lost the wartime chic look.

Incorrect. That which fashion calls a "ballet shoe" has very little in common with dance footwear.

Cool!! I’ll be wearing mine with barrel leg jeans and ballet wrap cardigans. DD has some in ecru just like them too.

To me they look like orthopaedic shoes.

Now looking at Moshulu loafers. Damn you FB ads.

Me too. These are exactly the shape, size, sole I was looking for - round toe, ballet pump top, white trainer sole. Gah to not in my size.

I also have these in the green and wish I could buy them in every colour. They are without doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Which ones?

Look at the sneakerinas - i have 2 pairs of Puma Speedcat ballet and am using them to death, but now I want the Adidas Samba Jane. Boots only under 10 degrees for me!

I bought speedcats. I loved them until I got achilles tendinitis in my left foot. The arch support is not great even though it looks/feels like it is. I complained. They are not well made imo and thats the issue - right shoe is great, left has always felt a little off.

I've bought Crocs Mary Janes and they are sweet. I wear the strap around the back of the foot so theyre more like a crocs ballet shoe.

The ballet flats in the OP look orthopaedic and not in a good way. Sneakerinas are fugly. Boots and trainers for me. I don't like loafers.

I think they look quite heavy and clumsy. And sometimes an elastic strap can fray quite quickly if you wear the shoes a lot.

AhBiscuits · 06/09/2026 15:33

I got some nice fitflop ones but I've only worn them twice because they shred my heels 😟

Ruthietuthie · 06/09/2026 17:39

I bought the Chanel ballet flats in the burgundy with black toes. I also just bought them in red quilted. I get them heeled and soled immediately, and they last FOREVER.
