Thanks for the new thread @JoRaRaRa I love a spreadsheett, but since this is my first year on these threads I am going in blind!

After looking through @MaryBD‘s breakdowns again, I am now heading towards:

Selfridges FAC (although not holding my breath - massive demand and I’m on the wrong side of the world until 31 Aug, which is going to make the whole thing quite unlikely unless they go for a Sept release).

Elle BAC - I would use almost everything in it

or

Harrods BAC for the fun of products I don’t buy the rest of the time

After initial excitement, fairly sure LF, Fenwicks etc not for me. JL is a hard no. Still watching out for a full CB reveal, not convinced so far.

I’ve got some dermatologica unopened items to sell, do people have better luck on eBay or Vinted? There seems to be a lot of the Daily Microfoliant on eBay so I don’t know if it’s worth doing or if it’s priced too high which is why there are a few on there.

(Or I wonder if we should set up a selling page thread for this corner of our community, I’d rather give someone here a bargain and be comfortable there’s no scammers and no hassle than anything else!)

@BadgerFace - that’s not a bad idea - I am not on FB, but someone the Toast thread I am on started a FB selling page - invite only - for Toast clothes, which seems to be working well.

Has anyone heard anything about ASOS this year . They usually pull out a good reasonably low priced advent especially if you can get it on offer but haven’t heard anything this year . I think Glossybox is looking really good again this year though

My Accidental Purchase (or maybe Attack Purchase?) came from Fenwick, beautifully presented with tissue paper. I'm so easily pleased, the packaging itself has made me quite sure I'm going to buy the Fenwick BAC.

Advent Calendar overload 😂

I had planned on Space NK, but changed my mind when I saw the (now deleted) contents. It was nothing at all to get excited about.
So, currently undecided!

@LagoLady I read that as 'Advent Calendar overlord'! Our lord and saviour @JoRaRaRa give us this day our daily BACs, and relieve us of our DODs, for this is the kingdom of beauty and fragrance, amen 🙏

I'm most likely to buy Harrods BAC and then buy individual items that I want from other calendars from Vinted, so as any of you start selling things off please do share on here - or yes, we could start a separate thread (or are there MN rules around that?)

MN won’t let you sell things on here.

I know the Toast FB selling page set up by someone on the Toast thread is very successful.

Btw, and on a sort of related note: I raised with MN the fact that private messages can’t be deleted completely unless you close your account - which means that if you give your details to someone in a PM they stay in the MN system, (and in the other person’s messages), even if you delete them yourself. They agreed this was an issue, but haven’t done anything about it.

I’m liking the look of GB this year. I want to see the rest of the items, though.

What do we know so far? Only the blush and Medik8 are on the website and someone on here said Commodity Orchid. Anything else?

There's a big established Facebook group called Skincare Freaks - Donate, Buy & Sell/Trade which appears to be well run. I know @MrsBNow12 uses it and a few other do too.

I sold a new full size Microfoliant on Vinted this year or last for about £25. It sold within a couple of hours I think.

I have thought quite a lot about setting up a FB or WA group as an offshoot of the Beauty Chat threads, I was thinking for swaps and giveaways of unwanted lightly used stuff rather than for selling (waste prevention!). My hesitation is that when you set up such a group you become the de-facto admin. As lovely as everyone is on our group sometimes things do go wrong with arrangements made, so it feels like a bit too much responsibility and any residual bad feeling would inevitably spill onto MN. There's also the possibility that it kills the long running threads as people then start chatting via the other medium.

I think that's last year's calendar they've pictured, which sold out within minutes!
