After having high hopes for SNK I now think it’s a no, so holding out for LF and Glossybox, though I’d love to get my hands on one of the Korean ones.

I bet I end up getting at least one of the Boots ones too.

Crystal from PWC has done a round up of all the items in the JL calendar. Having watched this it has confirmed that it is definitely not for me. Lots of very small sizes.

ATM I’m leaning towards the HBAC, Selfridges FAC and Cult Beauty (and GB for DDs). If I get CB, I’ll switch the PA blush from CB with GB and throw in the HG lipstick too. Not ruled out Elle either.

@OvaHere Im not a fan of patchouli either and had same concern about FDB. I searched it this was the AI response - granted not same as trying IRL.

@Puravida23 ASOS isn't usually revealed till around the 8th September going by the last 2 years. I've picked it up the last 2 years thanks to posters on here who have posted when it has been discounted in late October. I always think it's such a good one to break down into gifts but I'll be honest I tend to open it straight away as a gift for myself.

I agree that the leak has taken the shine off it. Might look better when we see it unboxed though.

Someone on insta said that patchouli gourmand was more like a rich chocolate milkshake - I'm not sure if I want to smell like chocolate milkshake, but the bottle is nice so it'll make a nice display piece if I don't like it 🤣

Edited to say, that's if I get the Selfridge's FAC, already assuming that I will 🙈🤣

Cult beauty BAC - in my head, with the £20 voucher, this would cost me £180 so cost wise, it wins over Harrods. We'll see what the rest of the products are though.

I've already pre-ordered the Harrods BAC and I'm determined to not have as many as last year 🤭

I do quite like Glossybox and Look Fantastic fragrance so far. But we'll see....

Just playing catch up as I'm a bit behind today (must get my priorities right!)

SNK did similar last year with theirs. I didn't come out until quite a while after the BAC.

I suspect they want people to feel compelled to buy both but the price of two advents in one payday cycle is a lot. So they release one on 1st Sep when most people have been paid then same next month.

It usually launches early Sept. I don't know who's IG account that is (it's US though I'm guessing from the language) but it sounds like "My Mum's dogs neighbour is friends with someone who works with X so it must be true"

Plus I do wonder if some managers tell customers any old tripe just to watch it all kick off 😆

Reporting back from Selfridges visit 🫡
Spoke with a lovely lady who confirmed that Lust In Paradise extrait will be 50ml. When asked about the FAC launch date, she said that one of the calendars will be launched in September and one in October, and then she said look out for it in the next couple of weeks 🤷‍♀️ (idk hoping September for both). She thinks it will be available in store too.
Ornande Jayne - Suede (main bottle) is a clean dry suede fragrance. It has some warmth in the dry down, but it doesn’t have enough sweetness for me to enjoy it. My DH enjoyed it and would happily take it. I was a bit bummed and asked DH if he can gift FAC to me for Xmas and keep Ormande Jayne.
Patchouli Gourmand - let me start by saying I hate patchouli note, but I like this fragrance. Opens very rich and opulent, borderline old fashioned. Very sweet. It takes you on a journey and in the dry down you end up with Vanilla Diorama by Dior. Great longevity. I think both women and men will enjoy it. It’s a yes for me.
Lust in Paradise extrait - fruity rose. It’s a hell yes for me.
Initio Oud for Greatness is a nuclear oud and nutmeg scent. I find it borderline offensive. Masculine leaning. Hell no for me and no for DH.
Mind Games - Queening - clean vanilla scent. I think most people will enjoy it. Likeable and inoffensive. Unisex but feminine leaning. Yes for me.
Initio - Musk Therapy is a clean laundry scent. Unisex.Yes for me.
Initio Lift Me Up - elegant floral vanilla. Yes for me.
Thameen Riviere - received it in Harrods FAC last year. Beautiful scent but leans masculine so sold it.
I forgot to sample Penhaligons Halfeti and Lord George.
Overall I feel less anxious about Selfridges FAC because in my opinion about half of the fragrances are masculine leaning and perhaps about half that I would want myself.
Also sampled some Harrods FAC:
Thameen Patiala - gorgeous ambery rose. Very sweet. Feminine. I will enjoy it, finally Thameen that I don’t need to sell.
PDM Delina exclusif - sweet dark rose, great for date night. It’s a yes for me.
BDK Impadia - bright fruity sweet rose. Feminine. Need a full bottle
Jerebom Gozo - dry saffron and tuberose. Smells like white colour. Feminine. Opulent and luxurious but not sweet enough for me.
Amouage Guidance - rose and hazelnut. Feminine. Wow, absolutely stunning.
