That's a good point. Probably won't have the AB retinol then. I really like PC though.

I was hoping at least one major calendar would have it this year and I could stock up via Vinted. There's still HN to go - that will probably have an AB product.

2 advent calendars ordered, one more I want, 1 beauty icons set and a travel set. Out my list into AI for it to sort me. Over 110 items. I asked it what I can use to treat melasma and it’s given me a full regime for morning and evening and recommended what I shouldn’t use. I’ve asked it what I should gift to my teenage daughter. It’s been very helpful! Until I asked if I should add AB The Rich Cream and it told me quite clearly that I don’t need to spend any more money!

How is the recent box? There are a few fragrances in there that they only sell online. I wasnt sure on this release

@Nomorechocs omg as if it actually said that, you must have a different friendship with your AI than I have with mine, it's always going on about a cheeky little luxury purchase here and there! It helps me spend my Liberty credit! When it decided I had enough make up, it suggested jewellery...

I have only tried the D’orsay which I tested in Liberty and know I like. I have listed the encelade for sale as know I don’t like it and may keep the rest for a fragrance Frankenstein advent as seem to have picked up lots of samples recently so working my way through those

I’ve just gone back and looked at last years and it was definitely interesting, brands I don’t know so would make it more fun . And on the 8th November it had 25% off bringing it in at 258 . So I def going to mark my calendar for this one so thank you for this it’s cheered me up !

The Niche beauty advent calendar is interesting. I bought two Theramid serums from there last year but the brand wasn't well known so I wasn't entirely confident of the products.

Yes that was the discount. It was more than I remembered but full price the BAC is closer to Vogue pricing. By November I'd bought far too much and couldn't bring myself to do it.

At the moment I'm coveting a lot less than last year so it's a maybe. There is Black Friday deals to factor in though too - they happen around about that time.

I've started my spreadsheet, and also did some tidying and sorting this week - after being horrified about how much stuff I already have, it's focussed me a bit on what I'm looking for (and need to NOT order multiple advent calendars!). So at the minute, Elle is top of the list for me, followed by Harrods.

I'm interested to see what else gets announced, but I'm almost hoping there's nothing too exciting 😅

I think it was because I’d asked for more budget friendly sunscreens than the £50 it said was a good one - and I asked if the AB Rich Cream was worth the money. It pointed out I had plenty of moisturisers already in my list. I’m relieved it told me I didn’t need any
more! 😂

Thanks for the new thread! I'm still pretty much on the fence with all the BACs. Vogue I liked, need to think how much I want the jewellery to decide. I want the Selfridges FAC unsurprisingly but I'm not in the UK for a while now so think my chances are very limited. I'm curious to see what the dreadfully named Oh My Cream comes up with as they have interesting brands although the value hasn't been as high as many at a similar price point in previous years.

Just spotted the Selfridges FAC on instagram. Love the colour of the box, but actually gasped when I saw all the doors were the same size. Not sure if it’s like the opposite of ocd I have, but I don’t like it when all the doors are a uniform size. Is it just me? Happy to be told I’m being a weirdo if it is.

Re that calendar: I have tried to work out the value because I was bored 😹

Kurt S Adler only sell in bulk to the trade and that sequinned nutcracker came as a pack of six. Ditto the macaron - one of six in a pack. They do sell the individual ornaments in Harrods tbf, so I am going to guess that an upmarket store in the US would charge maybe $15 for the macaron and $30 for the nutcracker.

Monogram Mary is a ‘proper’ online shop and you can buy a set of four ‘cocktail napkins’, (which is what the a/c item was), for $44, so $11 for one.

You can buy the exact tin frog for £2.75 from Amazon atm, so about $3.70.

Petite Plume is also a ‘real’ shop and the cotton eye masks cost $16. (They actually look quite nice!)

I’m going to assume that the bow and daisy barrette would probably sell for about $10 each, (being generous).

The Sugarfina taster bags retail at $68 for 25 packs so about $8 for three of them.

The tiny wooden trains are about £4.75 on Amazon so about $6.40.

I found a similar photo frame selling for $24.

She said the kids’ lip gloss was $39 for three, so $13 for one.

She found the sled online for $3.

I think that was everything with any sort of retail value.

By my calculations the contents RRP would be about $162 and the YouTuber paid $195.

Basically she paid $162 for a load of random items that no one person would want, interspersed with a bunch of insultingly rubbish throwaway cracker toys, and $33 for a nice box!

Whilst still an appalling calendar, I was actually quite surprised whilst doing this, that the tat in there was worth as much as it turned out to be!

I THINK the company was aiming for a family calendar, tbf, but it was still awful!

Maybe another couple of dollars for the gift tags 😹

And another $5 for the bell.

Good grief - I am beginning to see how the company justified the cost 🙀

currently liking the look of CB and glossy box, maybe look fantastic . This is my first year of flowing these threads on the run up .. and I’m loving it, but trying very hard to avoid FOMO purchases !
I want BACs where I will definitely use most of it and will sell the rest on Vinted or eBay

I seem to remember it came out lare in previous years. Late being mid October..this was the fac.

It all looked such poor quality though. It wasn't even well made useless stuff. The company on the surface seems to be an upmarket type shop and this is worse than Temu. I bet Temu could do a better AC. At least this creator will probably make the money back from YouTube views. I feel sorry for anyone else that bought it.

I completely agree @OvaHere - those Xmas decs are expensive to buy but pretty horrid, for example. The cotton goods were ok, but odd. The cracker stuff was insulting.

I do think US a/cs generally don’t seem to have the value that UK ones do, but people must have been furious with that one.

They probably had no recourse though as it probably was ‘worth’ just about what they claimed once US taxes were added in even though the contents were rubbish!

It’s a funny video, though.

Back to UK a/cs:

I really want to know what is in the GB a/c, the LF FAC and the Boots FAC. Those, (plus Liberty men’s - because of all my credit), are the ones I am most interested in but I am getting fed up of waiting. Spoilers just annoy me!
