Trainers for A/w - what are you wearing?

I am so over this heat and v much looking forward to packing my sandals away until next year!
On that note, I’m looking to upgrade my everyday trainers and never quite know what’s currently trendy and comfy.
Are colours still in, or are we heading back towards neutrals? Not really a fan of anything too bold, but I do like richer autumnal tones burgundy, chocolate brown, dark green etc.
What are you all planning to wear this A/W? Any particular trainers you’d recommend? Would love some inspo!

I’ve been looking at the slip on Mexico 66 Tigers, but not sure if I’m veering into Sketchers territory here… Thoughts?

New balance 204L! They're the comfiest as i hate super chunky trainers

For something less sporty I have Vejas, which are waterproof and imo much more comfy than the Adidas options

I got these last a/w I wore them SO much, looked great with everything and got so many compliments. Previously I’ve had lighter colours and then they got destroyed by mud/ rain. These are SO forgiving and washed up so well.

My trusty Pumas. Never had a more comfortable pair of trainers.

I’ve bought Tigers and they are the least comfortable shoe ever, they’re like wearing gutties! Look good though. Mainstay will be trusty NB327s.

Interesting to know this about Tigers. Another NB327 fan - can easily do 12,000 steps in them and love how they look.

Do they have removable insoles? They're so gorgeous but I need custom orthotics and they're too expensive to just take a chance. The brand new ones on the site are gorwgous

@Velumental no idea, but I’d definitely ask. CC have been very helpful when I’ve contacted them in the past, and Walsh are bona fide shoemakers, not fashion retailers if that makes sense?

I’ve been wearing them all day today and still find them very comfortable.
I didn’t really notice the lack of cushioning as such.
They’re flat, but I didn’t feel like I was walking on the pavement without shoes on 😉
I tried Vivo barefoot shoes a few years ago and they were okay, but I prefer Lejan.
I also like it that they don’t look too ‘barefooty’. They’re wider at the front, but don’t replicate the foot shape like some other barefoot shoes do.

The white trainers and dress thing - widely derided now - isn’t the same trend as the one I’m talking about. The trend cycle in London went:

White trainers (worn with floral midi dresses and a denim jacket so often that people where making memes about it)

Slim trainers in muted tones or retro coloured trainers

Big chunky white trainers like from the 80s/90s

Have not seen anyone under 35 in coloured trainers in London for a while unless they are a mum.

Which as I said, is fine, I am also a mum and have not followed this trend cycle. I think maybe where you are is a cycle behind maybe?

In London people wear every trainer you can think of. London is a cosmopolitan city with tourists as well as Londoners and visitors from all over the UK.
There are white, coloured, retro, chunkyl slim etc, loads of Nike and Adidas.
Many people have several pairs and don't just throw away perfectly good shoes just because some fashion journo has decided they are 'out of date '.

That is so true. Any trainer goes in London.

I live near a big school with 6th form, plenty of them in coloured Adidas…

Well then maybe it’s me who is behind! I can’t keep track 😂 Art students always have been a bit different.

In Autumnal colours I already have spezials in black, brown and leopard, and palermos in burgundy, navy and white/leopard that will all get worn on rotation depending on the outfit. All of these were off Vinted and the leopard print spezials are from the first run of these and cost me £5 - back when they were considered ugly and not fashionable. 😂

I’ve just bought (from Vinted) some New Balance 9060s in the brown colour way - specifically to wear with my new dark denim barrel jeans - the chunky style goes better with these than the ones I already have.

I keep seeing on TikTok some Puma Speedcats in Brown that I love but just can’t quite see where they would fit for me, outfit wise.

The Me & Em tan ones came today and I love them! I actually wore them today too, that’s how you know they’re perfect. Anyway, true to size and have arch support. I got 10% off as a new customer, I’m not but used DH email address, it did mean we had to have the £190, WTF, for trainers half the size of mine conversation - but it’s been worth it 😂

Just ordered the Mexico 66 SDs! Hoping they are comfy. Don’t think I have ever spent £170 on a pair of trainers before but hey ho!

I was served an ad for these earlier and am thinking I much prefer them to Sambas or Spezials for work! A little more expensive but I’d not seen them before.
