Trainers for A/w - what are you wearing?

I am so over this heat and v much looking forward to packing my sandals away until next year!
On that note, I’m looking to upgrade my everyday trainers and never quite know what’s currently trendy and comfy.
Are colours still in, or are we heading back towards neutrals? Not really a fan of anything too bold, but I do like richer autumnal tones burgundy, chocolate brown, dark green etc.
What are you all planning to wear this A/W? Any particular trainers you’d recommend? Would love some inspo!

i’ve got some red trainers I brought in the late spring sale from Next. Not worn yet.

Ooh I love it when you get something at the end of the season then discover it again in your wardrobe when the seasons change!

I’ll be wearing some burgundy suede ones I got from Tu last year. I have some lighter/pastel Hoffs which I love but are definitely dry weather only. Once weather is more wintry I can’t wait to get my Westland boots out again.

Ringonrighthand · 16/08/2026 14:54

I have these Victoria trainers, they are so comfy and look good with jeans. I’m also a big fan of Nike Cortez, really comfy and I have loads of colours

Do the tigers really have arch support? I love the look of them but have stayed away as I really need arch support (flat feet and poss some arthritis)

Was about to write the exact same thing. Snap on the flat feet and poss arthritis.

RobertaFirmino · 16/08/2026 19:23

Whichever pair of Adidas go with what I'm wearing, I've got quite a few pairs.

MabelMoo23 · 16/08/2026 20:21

Bloody hell, I really want a pair of Tigers now

love the yellow Mexico ones but lots of other fab colours too

Are the yellows too out there??

lovingthebeachlife · 16/08/2026 20:23

I have yellow sambas & wear them more often then I thought I would.

BlackRowan · 16/08/2026 22:01

I’ve been to Tokyo for work and bought myself two pairs of Onitsuka Tigers. One black special edition and one classic with red and blue stripes like in the photo above. Very excited

BlackRowan · 16/08/2026 22:04

Moon shoes look lovely. I really like slim and low profile trainers

The same sketchers I've been wearing for the last several years. I didn't know buying new trainers every season was a thing...

This is Style and Beauty. Feel free to go on to the news topic and tell people you don’t follow the news and then to the travel topic and say you had no idea people went on holiday.

They are definitely not as flat and uncomfortable as Converse. I feel they have arch support and very very comfortable and soft, however can’t say how they will fare long term and whether they are any good for plantar fasciitis.
I haven’t had a pair before as could never choose one and they are quite expensive here but in Japan they are literally half price of the UK

Thank you! And this is now another reason why I wish I was going to Japan!

You should meet my DH! He’s got so many that on more than one occasion he’s bought ones he already had because he’d forgotten he already owned them! 🙄

I am considering these but they are a bit ££ and suede which is not ideal in the (probably) wet autumn/winter. But I think they will go with a lot of the navy/burgundy/khaki that I wear, plus will go with denim.

I love Hoff but they don't fit me.
There are no half sizes.
5 too small, 6 too big.

Although the link is a different style, so maybe worth looking at!

I saw some nice leopard print adidas gazelles today on a woman in the park but they don’t suit my feet.

BitOutOfPractice · 16/08/2026 22:21

Sooooooo much brown! Whaaaaaaah! Is it going to be another brown a/w?

Don’t your feet get damaged after such a long period of time.m? Admittedly I walk everywhere but I have to change my shoes much more often than yearly as they would absolutely ruin my feet. I think my physio suggests every 500/600 km and I walk about 60-70 km per week.

Following with interest. I am a trainer girl & have many. Hands down the comfiest are Nike Cortez. I've worn & own many colours, but the gold with white tick go with everything. They fit the more slender brief, are very light & they're also not expensive. I wore mine walking for many, many hours yesterday around the Edinburgh Fringe & was super comfy all day.

I also found an Adidas pair recently that have cloud foam insoles & are like slippers. In a warm silver. I can't for the life of me remember the name, but I'll find them later.

Oooo id love to know the name of the Adidas ones xxx

GarlicAnywhere · 16/08/2026 23:11

Although I've mentally spent about three grand while reading this thread, I shall STILL be wearing the four pairs of Puma Mayze I bought in 2022. I like the look of today's slimmer, supple trainers but really love my feet being far from the ground. The Mayze profile still appeals to me and I'm finding it difficult to resist adding to my collection, now you can get them heavily reduced!

Giant footwear works with my wardrobe, which is all high-volume. When I finally give in to sleeker lines, I'll be facing a massive bill. Or perhaps I'll just stay large, who knows?
