Trainers for A/w - what are you wearing?

I am so over this heat and v much looking forward to packing my sandals away until next year!
On that note, I’m looking to upgrade my everyday trainers and never quite know what’s currently trendy and comfy.
Are colours still in, or are we heading back towards neutrals? Not really a fan of anything too bold, but I do like richer autumnal tones burgundy, chocolate brown, dark green etc.
What are you all planning to wear this A/W? Any particular trainers you’d recommend? Would love some inspo!

I got some new black Sambas - with cream stripes and a gum sole. They’re a straight replacement for black and white Sambas I have walked the tread right off.

I’m a Samba stan and have numerous pairs, but my particular favourites are chocolate brown with blue, and leopard print.

My thoughts...

I’ve just bought some adidas breaknets in ecru with a flowery pattern on the stripes. They come in loads of colours so if I think they’re worth it I might get a nice autumnal brown or red pair. I’ve worn converse for years but feel like I want something slightly sturdier. I’m hoping they won’t be as slippery as converse either having nearly broken my neck more than once, but not holding my breath 😅

I’m really torn between 3 pairs! I’m wondering if I should check Vinted and maybe try to get two of them for a wee bit cheaper.

Very comfy and ds14 thought they were adidas so I’ve passed the “what the heck are those mum” test 😂

Not really, it’s about low profiles now, satin (impractical in our weather, silver & deep reds.

Do the tigers really have arch support? I love the look of them but have stayed away as I really need arch support (flat feet and poss some arthritis)

Ah, I can't wait to get back into trainers. My feet get so dry and rough in sandals and require much more upkeep as a result. Also trainers are just so comfortable! I only decided that I wanted to start wearing them again this past spring. Until then, I exclusively wore Virginia DMs, the ankle boot equivalent of a comfy trainer. I bought two of the adidas campus shoes, one in "earth" or clay, can't recall, and in a racing green. They are ridiculously comfortable, but they are not a summer shoe, and I'd only just bought them in the spring, so I'm looking forward to wearing them.

I'd also bought an all white pair minus the black logo, of the court super shoe. They aren't quite as warm to wear, so hourly I'll be back in them a little sooner.

I don't mind footwear that's too common or popular or out of date, the rest of my outfits are not, and having basic footwear kind of keeps me from looking too "creative", which I'm not!

Hmm still wearing the white Nike AF1s I 'borrowed' from my daughter a couple of years ago. I find them really comfortable and they just go in the washing machine when they get grubby. Feel like I may need an update this autumn.

This is me too - the Converse and DMs tone down the rest of me!

I need to get some trainers this autumn after years of easy slip on shoes (Toms, Chelsea boots) for quick exits with babies and pushing prams. Are they seriously £120? I want decent shoes but that seems like a lot. How many years are you getting out of the Onitsuka Tiger for example. I love how they look but I need to know they last a good few years for that price!

The moon shoes are dreamy wow! Looks like perhaps more slim, running styles are making their way back into the fold. Thanks so much for all the lovely recommendations everyone! Although now I have almost too much inspiration and it’s hard to choose haha…
I think I’m leaning towards the Tigers or Spezials in an either neutral or brown tone so it’s a case of what is most comfy. Alternatively, I have seen a lot of lovely maroon and dark burgandy a/w clothing online so perhaps a little nod to that would be nice.

I'm still morning the lack of Ash virgin high tops with buckles, so I know nothing.

Following with interest. I am a trainer girl & have many. Hands down the comfiest are Nike Cortez. I've worn & own many colours, but the gold with white tick go with everything. They fit the more slender brief, are very light & they're also not expensive. I wore mine walking for many, many hours yesterday around the Edinburgh Fringe & was super comfy all day.

I also found an Adidas pair recently that have cloud foam insoles & are like slippers. In a warm silver. I can't for the life of me remember the name, but I'll find them later.
