Trainers for A/w - what are you wearing?

Mysteise · 14/08/2026 20:49

I am so over this heat and v much looking forward to packing my sandals away until next year!
On that note, I’m looking to upgrade my everyday trainers and never quite know what’s currently trendy and comfy.
Are colours still in, or are we heading back towards neutrals? Not really a fan of anything too bold, but I do like richer autumnal tones burgundy, chocolate brown, dark green etc.
What are you all planning to wear this A/W? Any particular trainers you’d recommend? Would love some inspo!

Bloody hell, I really want a pair of Tigers now

love the yellow Mexico ones but lots of other fab colours too

Are the yellows too out there??

No, the yellows look amazing. Very retro. Thinking of buying a pair but not sure how comfortable, think they may not have much cushion like Adidas Sambas.

Wjdbxb · 17/08/2026 10:14

I like the look of the Tigers but I have wide feet and I suspect they’re for slimmer feet only. Anyone?

Oooo id love to know the name of the Adidas ones xxx

I've found them: Adidas Barreda Lo in metallic. They're much less bright silver in reality.

They're SO cheap on sale right now, but at £60 full price I think they're a bargain.

I have now seen other colours on sale elsewhere & am SO tempted. I need to stay off this board 🫣.

This is Style and Beauty. Feel free to go on to the news topic and tell people you don’t follow the news and then to the travel topic and say you had no idea people went on holiday.

I'm not criticizing anyone. I just genuinely didn't realize seasonal trainers were a thing.

Yes they have hidden arch support inside, they are not like converse,

This is interesting as I ruled out buying them as they looked too flat soled.

RayonSunrise · 17/08/2026 13:03

I’ve been wearing low-profile trainers a lot this year - aqua & orange suede Adidas or silver Pumas especially. I also picked up some retro-looking mustard yellow ones from M&S for £40 that I’ve been really pleased with. They’ve been really comfy for sightseeing and look as good as my more expensive trainers.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 17/08/2026 13:17

I can't wait to get back into my burgundy Spezials. They're actually a great colour to go with black and blue jeans, which was why I wanted them, but also good for not showing the dirt:

I also want the neutral mushroom-coloured ones someone linked upthread or an animal print. I can't decide!

What the hell would you even call this type of shoe? It’s like a hybrid trainer and boot.

A Brainer? Or a Troot?

Ive just bought a third pair in another colour for autumn. I love them 😂troot sounds good to me. This type of trainer boot has been around forever.

Gettingbysomehow · 17/08/2026 14:19

When its not so hot I'll model them and post a pic. They really aren't weird under a pair of long trousers. They just look like trainers. I find them super comfortable.

Pigtailsandall · 17/08/2026 16:21

I have orange Puma palermos which are really comfy and I love the autumnal colour if them. I do wear a lot of brown, so been considering getting a brown pair possibly Nike Cortez. I have Gazelles, but their arch is so high that they they are actually a little uncomfortable.

My NB 327s are still going strong. They really had theor moment a few years back, but they are so perfect for my feet that I'll only let them go when they fall apart.

I have mushroom with pink Spezials which look lovely. I am really struggling with the arch supports - will they ever soften out?

lovingthebeachlife · 17/08/2026 17:22

I love the Spezials arch support but do have a high instep.

I already have the Adidas Speziales and going to buy the Onisuka Tigers

I like brown trainers I've just got these, im only 5ft 5 so these give me an extra 1.5-2 inches 😆

Thank you! I love my platform converse but they just look so dated now, but at 5ft 3 I desperately need the height and have been looking for an alternative. I might reach the giddy height of 5.41/2 in these! 😁

According to Vogue trainers are out and smart lace ups and loafers are in.

I am considering these but they are a bit ££ and suede which is not ideal in the (probably) wet autumn/winter. But I think they will go with a lot of the navy/burgundy/khaki that I wear, plus will go with denim.

Have had multiple pairs of Hoff trainers including these in a different colour, would recommend!

Does anyone care what Vogue says anymore? I thought most people have a variety of shoes that include trainers, lace ups and loafers.

Everyone will probably hate them but I just bought these in the sale and I am so excited to wear them. https://www.kurtgeiger.com/women/shoes/sneakers/islington-bow-sneaker-gold-combination-sequin-kurt-geiger-london-5295166779

I love the arch support, but I'm not sure if they softened up or if I got used to it?
