Chin hairs

What fresh hell is this. I’m finding little hairs in places I didn’t before which need to be plucked out. In the right (wrong) lighting I can see a few fine hairs. Not enough for a beard by any stretch but this is not a problem I’ve had until recently.

I’m only in my mid-30s, I didn’t expect this for at least another 15 years.

Please tell me I’m not alone and how do you get rid of them!

Haven't read from the start but...........wait until the white really thick and strong and wavy pube like hairs sprout from your eyebrows. And to add to the misery they dont dye brown either. I kid you not.

I have car tweezers too, the sun glinting on the little bastards when I look in the rear view mirror makes them really easy to see.

oh yes, and they sort of geow in the opposite direction of your other brow hairs.
and if you pluck those they leave a gap that looks like someone pulled out a brow piercing violently.

It's worth working on preventing metabolic dysfunction if you want to minimise the number of extra ones you get over the coming years.

Sometimes women develop an issue with sugar and starchy carbs in the diet and become mildly insulin resistant. There's often an explosion of chin hairs around that time.

News flash: Men really don't notice them

I use a plucky. I swear they appear instantly full grown.

Yes exactly that. They make chin hair look like an insignificant priblem

Oh god i was once abroad and noticed a very very long eyebrow hair.

I’ve never wondered if men notice them or not. I notice them and they annoy me so I get rid of them.

I had my first chin hair at 21. Then they kept coming. In my 30's I had IPL (intense pulse light) to get rid of the hair and it was amazing- 6 sessions 4 or 5 weeks apart, and all the chin and upper lip hair disappeared. It lasted over 2 years. The IPL doesn't target white/ grey hairs so pointless paying money for it now when only half of my chin hairs are dark and I'd still have to pluck. A good pair of tweezers (tweezerman are the best IMO) and a decent magnifying mirror and good lighting are what you need for a good plucking session (I love plucking sessions!).

I'll raise you nose hairs.
Do not try to wax those yourself, though.
Buy little scissors, ie cuticle scissors, and a very good magnifying mirror.

Don't ask me how I know.

I always rely on lighting a fag when i am pissed that seems to solve the nose hair problem.

Hello. I feel your pain. I started waxing my chin (and beard!) and it was such a huge error as they started growing back at horrible angles which were much more noticeable. So I had to find alternatives. I’m doing a combo of treatments.

If they are thick and dark, you can’t beat laser. Be careful of where you go, as some laser machines are shit. I go to Skin in London, their machines are great. I have only needed 6 sessions and the thick dark hair is gone forever.

For my lighter hairs, electrolysis has worked really well for those for me. It is a long slog - I’ve been going every 3-4 weeks for a year but now they’re finally not growing back.

Lastly for the fine, light and whispy facial hair, I am 3 treatments in to a course of DMK. It’s like veet but much stronger and apparently gives permanent hair reduction after 6-8 sessions. I started to notice a big difference after my 3rd session. I will report back once I’m finished my course to tell you if it’s worked!

I have this one and it’s brilliant. Gets rid of short stubby hairs too.

A few years back I was having a lovely romantic holiday in France with a new-ish partner, we were sitting outside a delightful restaurant one evening enjoying a glass of wine. It was all rather wonderful, with much gazing into each other’s eyes and that sort of thing. Then he reached over the table to brush a stray hair from my face - THE LITTLE FUCKER WAS ATTACHED. It was quite mortifying!

This is my biggest fear for old age.

Gillette Pro glide. I've tried others but this gives an extremely close shave and the blades go easily round the contours of the face.

Oh I've found my people! I'm reading this flicking my fingernail at one on my lip and another (or maybe a few) on my chin. The tweezers, magnifying mirror and phone light will be out shortly.
Why is it that my overplucked 80s eyebrows have never grown back but the chin hairs multiply daily..a mystery.

Just pluck them out. I also have one of those little electric eyebrow trimmers and I whizz that over the area every so often. Also the upper lip.

Life's too short to worry about this stuff too much, I wouldn't bother with expensive treatments personally.
